Normally $279.00 - mentions while supplies last. Good way to extend wifi network.

Thanks for the heads up! Although… now I'm kinda wondering about waiting for the 6Ghz version which would be coming a bit later no doubt. I'm fairly certain the extra frequency extension cannot be added via firmware and requires new hardware.
Got a link? I can't see it on the early access store page.
That's where I saw it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/comments/gkdyg9/ea_unifi_6…As far as I understand UnFi 6 Lite Access Point won't support 6GHz.
waiting for the 6Ghz version
will that come with a new virus, like 5G does?
Booooooooo
it comes with aluminium foil hat for protection
I think we should all be continually skeptical of Wifi 6 atm, it's still years years from practical usage. If we were talking about a TP Link or Netgear device, then yeah, but Unifi is like top of the line for the current state of things and this device can handle a few hundred clients. The main diff for Wifi 6 is handling all those clients without speed issues at essentially the same speed as Wifi 5.
What would be the advantage of WF 6? How many users are you going to to have per AP?
Wi-Fi 6 Access Point with dual-band 2x2 MIMO in a compact design for low-profile mounting.
UniFi 6 Lite is a 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 access point that delivers up to 1.5 Gbps aggregate radio rate with 5 GHz (MU-MIMO and OFDMA) and 2.4 GHz (MIMO) radios. Mount UniFi 6 Lite horizontally in the ceiling to cover a high-density environment, or mount it vertically on the wall to extend its range. UniFi 6 Lite has a compact and nano-sized design, so it can use nanoHD covers and mounting accessories.
Features:
- 2x2 high-efficiency Wi-Fi 6
- 5 GHz band 2x2 MU-MIMO and OFDMA with radio rate of 1.2 Gbps
- 2.4 GHz band 2x2 MIMO with radio rate of 300 Mbps
- Gigabit Ethernet, powered with 802.3af PoE
- Compatible with UAP-nanoHD covers and recessed mounting bracket

I think you're comparing apples with oranges.
UniFi 6 Lite - 2x2 MIMO with combined bandwidth of 1.5 Gbps
UniFi AC Pro - 3x3 MIMO with combined bandwidth of 1.75 GbpsAC Pro is a better option.
@vovka: Given that this is only the Lite version which is comparasion of the AC Lite which is 2x2 as well and only $99 USD
@asa79: So?
The current Lite is around 140AUD. The difference is in 5Ghz band which is currently 867 Mbps compared to forthcoming one with 1.2 Gbps. As wireless transmission is half duplex the real attainable speed is 430Mbit vs 600Mbit. Not much of improvement. AC PRO with 3 antennas will deliver higher throughput and support more clients, that the new Lite won't.@vovka: So ?
The biggest improvement is the better isolation between client traffic. But I think this will need everything on 802.11ax (wifi 6)
Shipping kills it for me.. min $21 to PER :(
If you're in Perth and looking for Ubiquiti gear, I'd recommend UBWH - Super fast shipping and they're based in WA/Bibra Lake. Usually much cheaper than everyone else (although right now their Pro units are $250 vs this deal)
I had my stuff shipped to Adelaide and even with COVID-19 it took 5 days AusPost (all if it AusPost delays and not them). Cost me $20 total to ship my gear - unsure what dynamic pricing would be to same state.
didn't realize these were worth that much - have two sitting in the boot of my car
I'll take them off your hands.
Happy to buy one from you!
send me a message - happy to sell
Isn't it better to go with a mesh system?
Is this just a cheaper option?
Unifi is a more expensive option and they do mesh.
Mesh only works imo when you can guarantee line of sight from the individual mesh nodes. Otherwise, you're just exacerbating the problem.

not true. they can be in different rooms and on different levels and work fine.
Good thing opinions aren't right cause yours is way off.
do i need to set my NBN modem into bridge mode to use this Ubiquiti UniFi AC Pro Access Point?
i have read good review on Ubiquiti products, just dont know how to start setting up a home network for a 2-storey house from scratch. Does anyone know of a good and cheap setup?
This is just an access point. You'll still need a router to actually send traffic to it. I'd suggest looking at a USG. You can then switch your NBN modem to bridge mode and go from there.
If you want to know more just ask.
Better off asking this question here -> https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/9
However if you are starting from scratch (ie no NBN at the moment), a USG + 2 UAPs (like this one) makes for an excellent wired and wireless network.
An access point is the wireless equivalent of a switch.
No, you'd keep your NBN modem the way it is now, acting as a router and a modem. This would just take a single Ethernet cable to it and you'd set it up via the Unifi app you can download on your phone. You would likely want to shut off the wifi being emitted by your NBN modem though.
It's an overkill for a house.
Hardly. It's just good quality equipment that does a great job. I have 1 in the ceiling of my 28sq house and I get wifi from from yard to backyard.

https://www.amazon.com.au/Tenda-MW6-802-11AC-Mu-Mimo-System/…
I have the Tenda MW3 and really cant fault them except for the 100mbit connection bottleneck to the main access point. The MW6 is an improvement over the MW3 but im disappointed to see that they recently jacked up the prices. It was only 167 over the weekend for a 3 pack.
recently jacked up the prices
AUD
Choice magazine gave it a good review… Still the best value mesh solution.
@jv: lol choice
Price is showing as $249 as of 1:30pm AEST
sh1tty move on Scorptec's part to up the price once the intial interest kicks off from OzBargain.
$249 now?
Followed link, but maybe price changed or limited quantity?Yup amount definitely increased since the time I posted.
Unless I am looking at the wrong model, they are $249 on Amazon with free shipping (Prime)

nice find. I'd rather support the smaller business but when they up the price by 10 bucks once a bit of interest is shown in a product they've discounted (and it's come to attention on OzB or elsewhere) I'm less inclined to GAF
I'll wait for AX before making the jump. Eyed off the Unifi Dream Machine and a pair of PRO access points for mesh coverage of the whole house, then looked at how much I'd be spending just for geek thrills and stuck with the current setup.
Once I setup QOS on my Asus RT-AC68U (Freshtomato) and pulled out the old Asus RT-N16 for extending coverage to the garage, I realised waiting before I pull the trigger on these things either saves me money or nets a better result in the end with newer technology or updated versions of things coming through.
If money is no issue, I think the Unifi stuff has got to be a pretty great thing if you have the use for it.
I rolled out USG Pro, 24p POE switch and AP Pro when I built my house 2 years ago. It has been exceptional with zero issues. As you mention, it wasn't cheap though.. especially after I added 5 unifi cameras and NVR. But 10/10 experience so far.
Just set myself up with a USG, AP AC Lite, US-8-60W and CloudKey Gen2+ to replace a single TPLink modem. So far the money spent was worth it for my geek interests.
Next pay I'm gonna invest $350 in 3x G3-Flex cameras too.
I wish I had time machine.
Yeah, not cheap. I got mine for $211.65 from Wireless1 on eBay on March 25th this year. So, just a matter of waiting for another 15/20% off sale and looking on there.
It does a great job. I'm getting ethernet speeds for my 2.4/5.0GHz wi-fi… ~95.2/23.8 on my Aussie BB 100/20 plan.
Might be worth holding off for the WiFi-6 AP being released in the Beta Store at moment
