Targeted, I didn’t get an invite

  • +2

Like OP, was invited again on same Rewards cards🎉

Heading out to redeem last Deal's 4000pt offer. Then use the $20 credits towards the next $50 spends.

With these offers, I shop every 2 weeks for the better pts/$.

  • +1

Checked my Rewards app; nothing there

    • I activated it, but not showed up in the App. There must be a delay or till Monday?

      • Nothing in my inbox either

  • +5

i got it once again as well!

nice, has to be one of the best % offs

    • Got it again too, such a great offer!

      • Got it again too.

  • Don't forget the targeted 2000PT for 5c minimum spend ends today!
    About the best pts/$ offer!

    • +1

      Bananas were $1/kg so bought 1 @18c for 2000pts.

  • +3

Why do I never get these targeted offers?

    • +1

Because you must be visiting them often so they no need to attract you 😀

      • +1

just grab a new reward card # and it works for me.

  • Is there any link to check for our Woolworths offer or its all send by email?

    • Most of the time by email

    • +4

Could also try looking in the new Woolworths Rewards app

      • Oh I didn't know there is an actual app,
        thanks :)

    • Mine is spend $50 or more to earn 800 Points :(

      bad joke Woolworths, bad joke!

  • Targeted.

    • Well, yeah - did you not see the giant TARGETED in the title?

      • +4

The one that appears to have just been added?

      • +4

You mean the one that wasn't there when I posted that comment? No, I didn't.

  • +5

I literally never get these offers for Woolworths Rewards. I get the occasional 5x points off a single shop and that's it.

  • No email for me.

  • +1

Is it worth signing up to 2 Woolworths rewards cards at all?

    • +2

      yes

    • +2

In my family, we all have at least 1 card each.

These offers were on half the cards today. So the more cards, the better the chance of being targeted.

      • +1

in my family, every member that got the lats round got them this time as well,
but those thta didnt get it, didnt get it this time around

and all of them dont use their cards as they are overseas

      • +2

And the more cards in use, the less use each card gets. Seems to help if you don't use the same card each week.

We only use the Rewards cards for good offers. And those offers have been very regular (most weeks) over the years, except for last 6 months or so.

  • I got first lot, didn’t get this one.

  • no bueno yet again

  • How do you see if you got it

  • Do you have to spend the required amount with cash? i.e. not using points? I didn't get the 4000 points (2nd week) after spending the amount but using the previous weeks points to pay.

    • +1

Yeah - if the qualifying amount is $50, you have to spend $50, not spend $40 and pay the remaining $10 via points (which I’m guessing is what you did with the 2000 points you got from last weeks shop).

      • +2

        Are you sure?

I thought the condition was based on $ value of items, and how you actually paided are completely separate and has no impact.

Otherwise, that's pretty unfair and should be complained about. If you spend $50 assuming you have met the condition, then the thing pops up on the screen saying 'do you want to redeem?'. You think nothing of it, but then it means you don't get the extra points.

        • I’m not sure if it’s changed now, but I did exactly that ages ago - redeemed the points at self serve, took $x amount off my total, and I didn’t end up getting the bonus points so since then I’ve just never redeemed if I’m trying to reach a qualifying amount.

      • +1

I've been using the points to qualify for next deal for years!

    • +2

You bought ineligible items in the $50 spend. Without the receipt, it is hard to continue the discussion. Rewards dollars are considered as partial payment, not discount.

    • +1

Bought in last 4000pt Deal today - paid $30 in discounted egift cards & $20 in points - received 4000pts. Has been this way for years.

I keep recycling those points on next offer.

      • I did it on Wednesday, paid the whole thing with GC and received the bonus points.

        • +1

Did 4 x $50 shops today! Plus an 18c banana for 2000pts😉 Paid with 12k points. (Usually spend is $50/wk.)
So 18k bonus points from today to use in 2 weeks time on 5 cards.

          • @INFIDEL: Brilliant. I would do the 3 I got offered but I am self insulating. But will do 2 and collect at a drive thru.

            • +1

@Yola: self insulating - at least you won't be shocked by all this😉

As there have been few offers in ages - I stocked up nearly $200 weeks ago with monthly 10% off (Woolies Insurance). Haven't returned since then. So needed a big restock. This offer arrived at the right time (along with sales on what I wanted - without restrictions on quantity).

As what I wanted is often in limited supply, I went to 2 stores to get what I wanted.
C&C would have let me down on items I wanted on special. But would have qualified for 4000pts for lesser spend if items were OOS.

              • +1

@INFIDEL: Actually self insulating is not too far off,
"protect (something) by interposing material that prevents the loss of heat or the intrusion of sound"
I am interposing my house between me and the outside virus infested world.
Yes I was also lucky that I had several good deals from both Coles and Woollies just before the big panic and did several big shops in person and as a good ozbargain hunter I have heaps of toilet paper from the Amazon and CW deals..

                • +1

                  @Yola: Yes, you self insulator👍

Awaiting my first ever tp order from Amazon this week (36 roll Quilton $14). Had plenty from pre-virus sales. Still have 1 unopened 20 pack.

May Woolies algorithms smile on you, bringing you lots of bonus points offers.

    • +1

I stuffed up a 4000 bonus PT offer last week as scanned the wrong card.

      Just off chat with Rewards.
It took a bit of explaining (after chat let me beyond their automated system).
Rewards are adding 4000 pts as a "goodwill gesture"🎉

Noticed they have a system on Rewards accounts to lodge a Claim for missing points if we forget to scan the card. Also can be done by chat by entering "missing points". Need to provide details from receipt.

Coles will add points after purchase if you provide receipt + Flybuys card at service counter.

Nice to know we can ask for our points if we forget to scan at time of purchase.

  • Out of three people in home, one person got this at 7am today.

  • I never seem to get these offers anymore which sucks.

They were a great way to clock up some quick points

    • +1

Same here. I spend minimum $250 a month at Woolies and get nothing for my loyalty. Before deciding to switch to Coles exclusively, I'm making a second rewards account. Hopefully I get these rewards on one of my accounts!

      • +1

Yeah, its Annoying. We would prob spend $500 a month and still nothing.

I think they have worked out that we shop there all the time so have stopped offering it. Might have to switch to coles until they offer it again haha

        • Or set up a new account.

  • woollies has been giving me little love lately.

    Coles isn't much better.

  • If I don't spend $30 in first week bit spend $50 in second week do I get 4000 points for second weekly's spend? Has anyone done this before. Going to struggle to spend $80 in two weeks at WWS after participating in last offer.

    • Yes

      • +1

        Thank you.

    • +1

Skipped last week in similar offer in last Deal & shopped $50 for 4000pts today.

Pick the best offer week if you don't need to spend in the lesser weeks.
      Been doing this for years

      • Except with Coles you have to do all the weeks.

        • +1

          That's a major reason I rarely shop @Coles. Miss a week & no bonus points😢

        • -1

I buy what I need when I need it, not when the shop tells me to buy it. Whacky, I know.

          • @mickeyjuiceman: My motto is if you buy it when you need it you will pay full price, if you buy it when it's on special you will pay half.

            • @Yola: Yes, "need" = "stores of item running low so buy on special" rather than "well, I'm at 1900 points, better buy stuff (or not buy stuff, whatever)"

              • +1

@mickeyjuiceman: by the way I did not neg you.

                • @Yola: @yola - NP even if you did - in terms of even fake internet points, OzB is WAY down the bottom anyway :-)

      • Thank you.

  • +1

I haven't received deal like this since last year, and my weekly spend is $200+. I probably won't get another decent deal if I keep that up.

    • in the same boat, may need to switch to Coles for couple of months

  • +1

I find the closer you are to 2000 points, the fewer offers you get. When you're down with 0-200 points, they might throw 800-1500 your way to get you tantalisingly close to a reward without giving you one.

If you're spending up around $200+ each week, they're less likely to try and entice you to spend more.

I find that rotating cards, small shops, occasionally letting cards lapse into disuse for a few weeks is a good way to bring on points offers.

    • Yes that is usually true. But it is strange that this week people received exactly the same offer on the same accounts. They did not try to increase the spend you have to do do qualify.

    • +2

Haven't noticed that. Rarely don't receive good offers. Had 1800 pts on one card & received this offer today.

Given how hard it is to predict success with Rewards offers, people attempt to predict based on their experiences.
As I received multiple offers today, on same cards as 2 weeks ago - I don't think there is any way to predict success.

Paid for some of today's purchases with thousands of points from previous bonus offers. The more points I build up - the more offers Woolies seem to give me.

I usually spend no more than $50/wk @Woolies, on different Rewards cards. That way they'd like me to spend more. I like to tease their algorithms!

My strategy is not to use the card for anything other than good offers like this. And have a few cards to increase the odds of success. Has been working well for years. But it may be just luck😉

      • You are very lucky.

      • @the INFIDEL. Me too exactly but Coles is being a pain requiring linking of the accounts to a mobile phone - for our security!

    • +2

I've had 1900 points on the card I got it on for ages and have been targeted for this twice in a row, I like never scan it otherwise though and only use it for bonus offers or good targeted offers.

      • Fair, I noticed I've been targeted again as well.

I get the feeling they may not have got as much of an uplift during the panic buying as they wanted (relative to Coles) and are going hard on acquisition offers for the time being.

They're retraining / retaining us to shop with them again, after our unusual recent shopping experiences. We've gotten out of the habit.

Past shoppers are the easiest to get shopping with them again. So they'll reward us.

Staff at a Woolies I visited this afternoon said it was an unusually quiet Sunday.
But deliveries are available again, so that may be a reason. People would prefer not to shop in-store just yet.

          • @INFIDEL: Yes Coles offers are not quite as good. Although I had 4000 points and free delivery for $100 spend that I made used. Then there were a couple of things out of stock and the spend fell to $96 and I did not get the bonus points but I will call them, they are usually pretty good.

            • @Yola: Have had too many problems with Coles c&c a while back. Got abused when I calmly complained about delays in order & most of it missing. Supervisor listened to their abuse, repeatedly apologised & compensated me. Haven't gone back to order.

Problems also with Woolies deliveries. So experience retrained me to shop in-store. I enjoy meeting with staff - we usually have a good laugh.

              • @INFIDEL: I have had only one online order from Coles and it went well, except the out of stock and not getting points.I have made several online orders from Woollies and all went well until last week when I picked up a drive thru order and out of 19 items 5 were missing milk, eggs, fruit and veg. The extremely laid back assistant had left them in the fridge and only put the pantry items in the car. They would not deliver them, of course and I had to another order and pick it up. Not happy with Coles sneaking in the requirement to link flybuys accounts to a mobile phone number - for our security! I am getting an order from Coles eBay tomorrow so will see how that goes. I also would much rather shop in store - yes for the contact and also because the best bargains are the markdowns which you of course do not get online. As I am in a high risk group I am "self insulating":)

                • +1

@Yola: Yes, best to keep "self insulating"😉

Ah the old - staff forgot to check in the fridge excuse.
I've learnt to check items against the order before leaving.

That's what happened with the Coles c&c at a locker in a car park. All frozen food was missing. But I was charged for it. No one there to check or complain to & staff member on phone became abusive & told me I had no reason to complain! If Coles refunded it, I missed out in bonus points. But they wouldn't resend it…

I've had stuff ups - but sometimes in my favour. Woolies gave me 2Kg of smoked salmon free - that was the best bonus.

                  Stay safe!

                  • @INFIDEL: Yes I was charged also. At least Woollies gives you a credit on the account so you still get the bonus points. No excuse from them, they have a bot which tells you will get a refund. I think it was left in the fridge. Coles are going to credit me the bonus points I missed out on because they were out of stock. Wow smoked salmon. I love it.

                    • +1

@Yola: Good Coles honoured bonus points.

That Woolies store manager knew I like smoked salmon🐟
Supermarkets throw out a lot of stock. Guess they threw some my way. It had 2 weeks before best by date, but was eaten by then.

  • Nothing :(

    • I feel your pain - nothing here either :(

  • Woolworth Rewards mentions "mobile recharge" in exclusions for Bonus Points and normal points as well.
Flybuys at Coles includes mobile recharges for Bonus Points as normal points.

Dumb question - but has anyone tried mobile recharge at Woolies, and got the Bonus Points?

    • I think not eligible for bonus points. Optus/Vodafone starter SIMs may be eligible, but not 100% sure.
