Sounds like there might be some bitter personnel experience, there. I hope the cat is doing well.

There's two of them so while we have an idea which one it is (looking at you girl cat) we can't be 100% sure.

Here are some other things they have chewed through for your reading pleasure:

      Razer headphone & keyboard cable
multiple micro USB & USB-C cables
S10 USB-C cable the day I got it
Switch charging cable the day we got it

We have to buy the blitzwolf braided USB cables now which don't seem to be quite as delicious for cats

Cats are doing well and we love them very much. Very grateful they let us live in their house.

Yeah, we lost a few Apple cables to little teeth; including the cable for the charger for the Apple Mac. It might be worth putting some sanitizer on your hands and rubbing them along the cable. See if the taste of that puts them off. Fortunately ours have grown out of it.

We’ve got a converted warehouse, and a couple of Somali kitties. My little brother calls ours squirrels because they have the ability to run, jump crawl and get into everything.

I called this shot “stocking up on essentials”. I was looking for something on a lower shelf and she used my back as a stepping stone.

      • Get some nail polish at the chemist meant for kids who chew their nail and paint on the items you want to protect. Might want to test out first in case your cats like bitter things!

I actually really like my little Lenovo Smart Clock.

    Pros:
    - No camera, so Google cant spy on me touching my winkie in bed
    - It's really small (like only a little bigger than a deck of cards screen size wise), which means it fits on your bed side table easily
    - Voice control is really good. It picks up my commands really well, even if I'm talking quietly

    Cons:
    - I don't believe it can play video or stream video. Not sure you'd want to on the tiny screen anyway
    - Speaker is more than adequate for an alarm and waking up to music, but I dont think you'd want to use it for listening to a philharmonic orchestral performance of your favourite concerto.
    - No camera, so I can't show Google my winkie

    • Google cant spy on me touching my winkie in bed

      But

      Voice control is really good

Let's hope it doesn't pick up any "keywords" as the audio can tell even more of a story lol.

Can you clarify what is really small?

@theredkrawler - Is your winkie name the same as your Username?

These have been very unreliable for me. Had 2 both failed within about 3 months of use.

    • What would break? Warranty replacement?

      • Blank screen, wont power on or respond to any input.

First time around I was happy with the replacement though it took a month (delivery issues not Lenovo's fault) second time I just got a refund and got the Google hub instead. Bit more expensive but has been going strong for without a hitch

        • I had this happen on my first day! They replaced it on the spot (JB) when I brought it in. But more recently, it constantly disconnects from our wifi network, Google Home speaker group setup (including ability to cast to it) or both.

Taking back to JB today and will seek a refund - just don't trust this model, even though when it did work, it was a wonderful little device (with a small footprint for smaller bedside tables).

I've had mine for 6 months now and still going ok. I especially like the way the screen dims when it's dark. The screen is nice and bright during the day to see all around the room, but dims down significantly when the lights go off so it barely puts any light out, only just enough to see the time.

  • I've got a Google Nest Mini in my bedroom. Any thoughts as to whether its worth swapping it out for one of these?

    • i dont think.
you can always ask google for the time. save the eye and head movement too!

      • I assume you're single.
It's definitely worth getting. You don't want to start talking to google if you want to know the time in the middle of the night or if your partner is still sleeping.
You can also set the clock face to your Google photos and have it scroll through your gallery if you want that extra justification.
The clock face can be dimmed quite low automatically at night too which is good. It's bright enough to read in a dark room but dark enough not to wake me up.
Move the mini into another room and use this in your room.

  • not bad.. the lowest is around $65 from my search here

  • I just replaced my old sony clock radio with this one as well. It's going ok for 4 months now. I have a google mini in the lounge and the lenovo clock in the bedroom. It's good sometimes you just want to take a quick glance at the time without saying Hey Google. Only issue was it also disconnects when my internet reboots, but easy to reconnect. My old sony clock was being out of sync a lot even when I update the time.
