50% off Tool Cabinet / Trolley SCA $74.98 (was $159.97)

1020

Was in the market for a new tool trolley and came across this. 21 inch trolley which is a compact size suitable for those with tight spaces, but also comes in at a compact price.

Reviews seem to be overall good

Downsides are that it comes with plastic castor wheels and also a bottom cabinet that opens upwards as opposed to down or sideways which could potentially make things awkward to put in and take out

Larger 36 inch size also available for $399

Have one. Would have paid extra for a hetter quality one.

    • Can you take a picture of it? Bit hard to tell in the flat photo and can't find anything else online. Would you pay this price for it?

This is a video of the 36 inch model.
Quality doesn't vary between the two sizes.

        • Yeah thanks I saw that. It was more about sizing etc

thanks. helped me decide and buy 2x of the lager ones! :D

This price is probably what it's worth. I had a look previously. It felt a little flimsy so I didn't buy it. It would be totally fine for light use, just don't expect it to feel "nice".

  • Great value at this price. Purchased last time. Good little cabinet :-)

For the love of your chosen deity don't buy this - wait until the toolpro ones go on 50% off. I hate myself but not that much.

    • Only problem w/ the Toolpro one that I have is that it only has 360deg casters on one side which makes it hard to maneuver… oh and it was a bit of a mission getting it in/out of my car solo.

    • If you're not a pro or enthusiast, this is more than fine. I just set mine up and am happy with it. It will be kept inside and it's powder coated steel so it shouldn't rust too much. This is a product obviously not aimed at you.

  • Length: 54.1 cm
    Width: 28 cm
    Height: 88.8 cm

This is about the size of a bedside table.

I sleep in a big bed with my wife

so buy one for her too

        • +4

Me too. Can you tell your wife to stop pulling the blanket though?

  • I use one for cleaning rags and chemicals. Never for tools. Id hate myself.

  • You nailed it. Drilling deal.
    Price has been hammered

Do you have a screw loose?

      • I reckon they've got more than one screw loose

          Toolittle value, a ratchet deal

Not sure why so much hate here. I've got the 36" with 4 drawers + top lid on the top section, and 2 large drawers and a cupboard on the lower section. I think it's great for it's price. If I was wheeling it around a workshop all day I'd pay for something sturdier, but for home use it's great. I think I paid $350 for it about 6 months ago and I've probably accessed it at least a few times most weeks since.

Quite a few quality snobs here. Whenever I read a comment slagging something off I'm never sure whether it's actually crap or basically fine but not up to the standards of people who buy bespoke hickory wood cooking ladles or whatever.

  • what do you use something this size for?

    • Storing tools ;)

  • No stock anywhere near me :(
    Still a good deal though…!

  • Ordered one . Thanks

    • …and only 4 times the price!

      • Catch is that a tool chest is something you buy once and keep 50 years (assuming its good).

One of the very few things where I think quality is crucial.

You mean compared to the larger SCA version?

I am looking at that one too, think the SCA might be more heavy duty though as it weighs 80kg, the Bunnings one above weighs 50KG and SCA is larger in dimensions

  • It's under $80, you get what you pay for. Common sense would suggest, given they're still making a profit on it, the quality is going to be average. Purchase based on your use case, if you're needing something top notch to wheel around the garage all day or use for your workshop expecting it to last then spend the extra $$ on a known good quality brand. Otherwise a good deal for what it is at sub $80. Most SCA branded products are average quality and made on the "Super Cheap", allowing them to slash the price by 50%.

  • thanks OP!
ordered 2 of the larger ones for work.

don't forget 1.5% cashback at the usuals!

    • received both mine today (larger model).

      assembled as well, took 15-20min
need to unscrew the rear to remove the top chest section.
need to screw in the handle.
screw the rear panel back in.
      rest is fully assembled.

      really impressed for the price!

  • Anyone know if this comes in a flat pack or is it pre-assembled?

  • +2

I bought one of these. Just assembled it. It's easy enough to assemble and is relatively ok quality for the price. My garage/office looks waaaay better now rather than the broken down cabinet I was using prior to this. Thanks OP. To those slagging this off — this is not a professional tool cabinet. It is meant for those of us that just need to organize our basic tools that we keep for our little DIY projects at home; eg. about 80% of us.
