Is this better than the decor adventurer which is often half price at $16

  • +5

Thank you, grabbed my partner and myself one. Will be perfect for outdoors and car trips.

  • +1

These are great. Paid $31.40 for mine from Bunnings 4 months ago.

    • +1

      Easy to clean?

      • +3

I only put black coffee in mine so yeah, just rinse with hot water and shake.

      • +3

The inside is just a stainless steel canister. You can scrub it with a long handle soft bristle brush or just rinse it out if not stained.

      • +1

Buy a bottle brush to make it piss easy
One of these or similar : https://www.amazon.com.au/OXO-Good-Grips-Bottle-Brush/dp/B00…
Hot water, dishsoap, gentle scrub, done.

    • Im sure you can find some rubber gloves on sale too!

    • +2

      lol, first world problem

  • +1

    Good find, bought 3

  • +3

the thumbnail totally looks like a hanging punching bag :P

This will keep your coffee hot for well over the advertised 24 hours. It keeps it so hot that instead of making it just before I leave for work I make it before I go to bed the night before.

    • That’s such a useful idea! Are there any concerns of the coffee spoiling by the next day, or no?

      • Tastes the same to me but that's with black coffee, adding milk might be different.

  • +1

Have this for over a year. My favourite out of all the other thermos insulated flasks. Holds hot and cold liquids very well.

  • +1

The handle works well and is nice to hold but it does make a rattling sound which is slightly annoying.

  • Thermos or Stanley?

    • Stanley use lead in the manufacturing process, Thermos do not.

Not that the lead is exposed to a consumer, but lead soldering is used in the process enclosed within the base.

      • +2

I would say Thermos do as well as they don't say they don't use lead. They just say that they pass all lead tests.

        • Pretty sneaky wording isn't it. It would be good if this could be clearly stated by manufacturers.

          • @shiprekt: It's actually quite common across vacuum thermos companies. Even the Yeti that everyone raves about uses a lead pellet. At least Yeti spell it out on their website.

          • @shiprekt: it would, but they would lose sales from customer like you that think it doesn't contain lead like stanley or yeti. lol

I bought this one last time. Same company. Bit cheaper and without punching bag on the side

    • Plus you can get 5% off if you buy 2.

    • +1

Did you find the outer lid is a bit fiddly to close?

      • +1

        Yes. It is

    • How wide is the mouth opening? I wanna buy something I can fill up with icecubes, but mine are larger than average. They wouldn't fit into my previous insulated bottle.

      • Diameter at the tightest point is about 45mm.

        • Haha cheers mate. I ended up taking a punt and buying one. Doesn't fit my large ice cube trays but given the nice silicon trays are like $4 I just bought a couple of those. Can't go wrong with extra ice :)

  • Does anyone design a lid to make it like a “water bottle”

    • +2

      Lid works as a Cup

    • Remove lid and drink like a normal person? Or I guess you mean make it like a sippy cup?

  • Got one, thank you 😊

  • Got 2L?

  • Nice! Ty

  • +2

I have this and it’s a big clunky beast of a thing. Im still loving my Tiger drink bottle, that one keeps the water cold for days unlike this one.

    • Do u have the model name?

      • +1

SK2020 This is actually the 2 litre one I have here but I can see it has the same awful handle that rattles around. It’s probably good for keeping your coffee warm for a bit but it doesn’t keep water cold for long.

  • +11

Have absolutely no need for this but can’t resist a deal with 100+ votes.

    • +7

Recent Merc G class has also got 100 plus votes I guess. I had to resist.

  • +1

If I put cold refrigderated white wine into this, will it keep it cool for ages?

      • +1

        damn, i bought already

        • +3

It's advertised as keeping drinks cold for 24 hours so should be good, but I haven't actually used mine for cold drinks.

          • +4

@churlish: I have and can confirm it lasts around that and longer with ice added.

        • cold for 24 hours so should be good

  • Cheers.

  • Oos

  • Showing as $30.64, damn this was a great price.

  • Out of stock already

  • Anyone tried the thermocafe 1l? It is $25 for this

  • +1

I'd get this if it didn't have a plastic pourer you can't avoid. Not a fan of boiling water and plastic.

    • +1

You can avoid this by taking the lid off completely when you pour.

      • +1

Ah that's good - but it'd still be kept super hot and the condensation would be dripping back in. I'll just keep an eye out for one that's steel and silicone only.

  • Probably a dumb question but what exactly do people use a Thermos this big for?

    • Keeping a decent amount of water cool all day.

    • Going out. Especially in winter time, good for hot teat or coffee after a hike.
Also good for bringing hot or cold drinks to work where no cafe or food court available (my use case).

  • I didnt know these were so popular.

  • Available again.

    • +1

      Shows $40 now

    • showing $39 for me

  • +1

Yup, definitely back in the midnight blue

  • I got this for a friend and they don't drink hot drinks and dabble in cooking soup so if you aren't sure you need one.. you might not.
