Hi all,
Sorry for the delay in posting this…. I didn't realise I got such a good price. I picked this up at the Good Guys VIP sale at Oxley (Brisbane) last Wednesday. JB currently have this on sale for $696. Hopefully you are able to take the receipt and pick up a bargain.
Also notice the Acer Bluetooth Keyboard for $45, Screen protector for $25 and Protective cover $30.
I have attached a copy of the receipt to the url so hopefully it works.
Anyways, happy hunting!!

How big are the Verbatium Mem sticks? They look cheap too?
4gb… stocking stuffers :oP
NicE!
Advertised for $768 http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/oxley/store/ProductDisplay?cat… either they really like you or they stuffed up congrats.
If you buy a major appliance from them through the year they invite you to a VIP night where they have some items heavily discounted. They also had the 32gb ASUS transformer for $570 including the dock.
Hmmm tempting to try price matching but i don't really need a tablet…
you got a really good deal btwThe 2 year warranty for $89 that you bought would have some bearing on the final Tablet price (assuming you got this by bargaining) so I would expect that may affect price matching.
I didn't haggle on this at all. This was the ticketed price for the evening… I saw someone else get a slightly higher price on Whirlpool in Melbourne so I made sure I went to the evening. I'm not very good at haggling :o)
You certainly got a great deal without haggling. I was just thinking if someone was to try and price match with your receipt the sales person might not even consider it unless they bought the warranty too (since warranties are a big money maker for them).
damn.dirt cheap
There must be be sty wrong. Luck you!
I can't see just any one getting that price off the street. It was part of a viP promotion then would only be available to VIPs. Great price though.
great deal though i think the extra warranty was waste of money.
Thats an awesome deal, but as others have said, I doubt anyone else will be able to get anything anywhere near that price.
I just use a huawei 3G USB modem when I need 3G on my Iconia A500 (requires a custom ROM, i use a galaxy tab port from xda-developers)
Thanks for posting, OP! I hope someone else pipes up with a good Asus Transformer deal!
I actually went to the sale with the idea of picking up the transformer because I liked the keyboard dock etc. I only changed my mind as the guy was opening the cabinet because I thought the built in 3g would be handy for me. as mentioned above the price on the night for the 32gb was only $570 (inc dock)
This is a real bargain, Thx for sharing!
I bought a 16G wifi $386 in H.N. last weekend.why your title says JB but the invoie is from TGG?
sorry i didn't think i specified a store in the first place…. i will change it
i just checked… i didn't specify a store in the original post and dont have permission to change the title…. mods can someone please update this to reflect The Good Guys not JB… thanks
Has anyone scored this deal besides the OP? This deal made to front page but apparently it's not available to anyone else?
Not available for VUPs (Very Unimportant Persons)
This is dumb, you purchased a million items with it plus it is a one-off deal. Thanks for sharing but this is more suited for the forums imo.
give the OP a break!
she put in a great effort to share the deal and even up the receipt
what more do you want her to do?Be thankful.
I just took this receipt into my local GG in the hope of getting the keyboard for the same price (already have the standard A500 16GB). The salesperson there said 'obviously they bought a few items' with a bit of a chuckle, but then offered it to me for $49! Best JB offered me was $77 and Amazon was ~$55, so I was stoked to buy it for that locally. Thanks heaps!
Thanks glennv17. I only put this post up so people knew what a really good price (bargain) was for the items and even if they couldn't get a direct match they could use the information to squeeze their local store for the best price. I think bargaining with your local store is key to this. I have just provided one piece of information to help that process.
Well I was very surprised that he said $49 straight up, the funny thing was that I would have been happy to pay $60 since Amazon was close enough to that, but I definitely don't think I would have gotten $49 (let alone $60) if I just walked in and said I wanted one now instead of buying it from Amazon.
Thanks for the post.
I wonder what the good guys pay for these things? Their margins must be huge at RRP.
Ya, everything except Apple products have higher margin.
Apple keeps the most for themselves because they know thier products are like hot cakes. If you sold a premium product with a high brand recognition and exterminated possible copycats…. wouldn't you?
Well, can't blame Apple because they have created this playing field but I have always believed their products are overpriced. ASUS didn't charge cosumers big money for their netbooks when they started the trend. It's just a matter of choices for Apple whether if they want to make it more affordable to vast majority of consumers or not. In the end, the more competitions the better off the cosumers will benefit from.
OMG you sure shop alot last week :)
cheers !
