PGGUYS20

Original Price $219. This looks like a decent microwave with inverter and sensor cooking. The previous low was from Myer ebay for $183.20. LG Neochef prices have gone up a lot ($299 before code discount). This is a good one if you want a microwave oven over 30 litres and a reputable brand

LG WV5-1275W 7.5kg Front Load Washer $476 + Delivery($54.94) @The Good Guys

Original price $595 which is already on special. Others Binglee/ JB Hifi have this for $699. Not sure why LG washing machines don't get much mentions here. I've an LG washing machine(bought in 2005) that only recently starting to play up. Was in the market for a new washer and went for LG because it lasted 15 years. Would've gone for the Bosch one but after reading this comment was not too enthusiastic. They're both 7.5 but the LG one has more space. I actually went to a shop and checked this myself. 10 Years warranty on motor and another feature I like is you can add item after you've started wash

    • That looks nice and is better. Not sure which I should get? :/

    • This is my choice also over this Panasonic if one could pay a bit more, much roomier and looks great. I got the LG MS4266OBS (currently $239.20 on eBay from the Goodguys) last year over the Myer model because I like the nob design better, much more tactile ;)

      • I am seeing $299. How are you seeing $239?

        • The price is after 20% off code for good guys ebay. I'm not saying it is the cheapest it's been (I bought it last year when it was $213 after 20% off on eBay), but that's the current price available.

Own this unit, not the best thought panel and controls. Cover on frequently used buttons started peeling a bit. With controls no quick start (30s) heat option, have to press stop/reset each time before going back to back, etc.

    • +36

That plastic on the buttons is supposed to be removed, it's just a temporary thing.

      • +11

Just had a look, of course it is removable, lol. Thanks for that. Now it's a matter of getting used to the controls or am I doing that wrong too?

        • +1

Is this the one that has the worlds most annoying tune when it finishes cooking? I sit near one at work, and at lunch it's never ending, can't be turned off either.

        • Peeling off the plastic is a thing

        • I have the same microwave and I just removed my plastic covering a few months ago, it was so perfectly placed on the button panel I never noticed it was on there until it started to fail in areas.

@bleach1st: A friend of mine was the first tenant in student apartment. It took him years to realise his blue oven was in fact stainless steel.

            • -1

@KentT: This happened to us too. It took us months to realise it's not blue but stainless steel.

            • @KentT: That made me lol.

    • Hi, does this microwave have a rotate plate?

      • The one I have does, this mentions a turntable in the description. Although I remember there was a model without rotating plate at store as well.

Completely agree on the rubbish control firmware. Dates back to the 60's ! If you go to more progressive LG control then you get compulsory melodies and reminders. If I could flash my Panasonic firmware I would be in heaven :-D

  • How does the LG compare to the Fisher & Paykel? Comes to the same price and seems to have better reviews overall.

    • I would also like to know this.

They look almost identical but the LG can connect via an app and also has a low allegen steam mode

      • Well no LG stock around Sydney so I've gone for the F&P pickup from Alexandria

        • Yeah I ended up buying the F&P, looks better IMO too

@BeerCrisp: Agreed, looked in store when I picked up and it looks so much better; even the dial has a much nicer click to it

    • Bought the Neochef just over a year ago. Last week it died completely, and LG will take 2-4 weeks to assess / repair it. The Panasonic we had earlier lasted 8 year!

I'll be looking for a refund and steering clear of LG. Their products seem to have a knack of lasting just long enough to either avoid ACL/warranty coverage or just being a pain in the repair process. (Also had a dishwasher which broke 5 times over the 3 years we had it).

Edit - this was meant for the main chain not as a reply…

    • We're on our second LG; these things really last. First one was the cheapest model, <$500 in 2006) and lasted 10 years.
The direct drive models are so quiet that you can't hear they're on (except when centrifuge is running). Highly recommend.

      • I have multiple relatives that have their Sharp microwaves from 1978. Never even had a service aside from the check ever 10 years that they aren't leaking radiation, which always comes up good.

On the topic though, since when can LG microwaves even be mentioned alongside Panasonic and Sharp? This is news to me, although I did give an old LG to a friend and it's still going strong after a plastic rice cooker caught fire in it, and it's also survived a cockroach infestation.

    Turntable microwaves are so yesterday.

    • What’s happening today?

      • +1

        Microwaves without turntables.

        • +22

Well well well. How the turn tables.

  • Pulled the trigger, I’ve got a matching Panasonic fridge

  • I have a similar 7kg lg and never had any issues in the last 5 years. Goes like the clappers.

  • I do need a replacement microwave so considering 🤔

I paid $200 for a Panasonic SS flat bed microwave.

    I'd say it's worth the extra $25.

  • Do you gave a link to the Panasonic flat bed microwave?

Bought this brand new on gumtree a few years ago for $20. No complaints!

  • Already brought the LG Washing machine today, waiting for delivery. I am pretty sure TGG has stocks in local store but just not showing on ebay so you have to pay for freight. Anyway,it is still a good deal

Personally I have a bad experience with Panasonic microwave, my Panasonic inverter sensor microwave (non-turntable) have gradually lost power over 3 years. Got a new LG Neochef (same rated power as the old Panasonic) and it is night and day in terms of power. Also the door opening button gets clanky and worse as time goes by, feels very low quality.

Also, the non-turntable version microwave of any brand I would stay away from, in my experience they don't heat the food as evenly as one with a turn table.

Bought w microwave on gumtree for $10 and going strong for 6 yrs. Cant imagine paying $175 for one!

    • this guy bargains

This or LG NEO Chef ? which one is better in terms of performance and value for money?

  • I have a panasonic inverter microwave and for the life of me cannot work out howto change the light bulb inside it..

    • You usually can't. They're not designed to be user-replaceable so you're meant to take it to a service centre.

  • $627 postage is a bit steep.

LG or the Bosch Washing machine?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/523008

    • I have an LG for more than 5 years now and no issues' knock on wood, just keep in mind Bosch at these prices (roughly) may be made in south east asia and use more plastics so they wont be the same quality as the made in Germany brands but cant really comment on the quality of Bosch .. so far so go with LG

  • How long is the discount code valid for ?
