Not sure what they do but in the past, I've been able to port in and out using the live chat method. Others have also used it for Boost deals
@CC123: mind sharing more? my boost is expiring, the recent boost deal requires purchase of new sim(not topup). do you know if i can just port out and port back in using the new boost sim within a day or two or got to be 30 days etc? afaik, boost deal doesn't mention its for new customer

Should be able to do it the same business day, can't remember but I am 99% sure I did. Haven't needed to port in a while.

Thanks, managed to port to Optus using the live chat. Will now port back to Boost.
You can activate the SIM by validate Credit/Debit Card, no recharge needed.
Telstra $2 can port without credit. They're also free but must sign for delivery
including postpaid? i tried but failed to port and helpdesk said only works on prepaid one
they send a courier that requires signature to deliver a $2 item. No wonder they keep cutting hundreds of staff every year.
One time the courier wanted to take a photo of ID otherwise they wouldn't give me the packet. It's ridiculous
You can use parcel Locker or parcel collect. When you use parcel Locker, it is considered as signed when you collect it. If you use parcel collect from post office, you just sign there and don't take photo of your id
Once activated/ported on the $2 Telstra sim, how long is the number active without recharge?
It should be the same as end of expiry on prepaid which is 30 days I think,

There was a thread for this with really good info but I can't seem to find it You need to activate on the epic value plan which allows you to choose the $20 roaming option.

They have delivery issues with their delivery partner. Expect >2wks. I had to get a refund because of this but for a $150 365d sim

You can recharge normally, although they have a promo running for new customers and you get an extra 40gb of data on that plan.
So you can buy a new Boost sim, use this Optus one to port out, and then port back in to Boost to get the promo

SIM expires 01/01/2022. Live Chat happy to manually port and activate. Chat ends with the agent asking for you to go ahead and recharge. I received a SIM today. A buddy also received a SIM today and ported from Telstra to Optus to Boost to be able to get the $150 12 month 120GB offer.
