  • Can this pack be used or activated as 365 days plan for incoming calls ?

    • +2

You can for amaysim. When you activate, choose PAYG 365 day plan.
      Not sure about Lebara.

      • +1

You can with Lebara as well. I bought one last year and PAYG was available when activating, though I went with the 30 day option.

      • +1

Do you then get to keep 50 GB data once you change it to 365 days plan?

    • +1

Amaysim $30 credit: can stretch it out to 2 yrs, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/16008184/redir

Incoming calls & sms: 2 factor validation.

      • Can I double check your workings?

        1. Buy an Amaysim $10 starter pack.

        2. Activate it on a 28-day prepaid plan.

        3. Don’t make any outgoing calls or send texts.

        4. After 28 days, the plan will expire—but your unused $10 credit stays on your account.

        5. On day 364 (just before the year is up), switch to a Pay As You Go (PAYG) plan. This will extend your $10 credit for another 12 months.

        • I've not tried that path & hence can't advise.

          1. After 28 days, the plan will expire—but your unused $10 credit stays on your account.

Not sure if my-interpretation is correct? When you buy any prepaid-plan & don't use it, doesn't the UN-used data/voice/sms is lost ? https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans

          • @ab c: I'm just trying to understand what you have said in the conversation you originally posted.

My understanding from those posts is either

            a) what I posted above (which you've just confirmed it isn't), or
            b) you bought two starter sets, or
            c) bought a data add on

Could you please explain again :)

@OZBMate8911: Amaysim STARTER-pack: say $30 credit on sales for $10.

You can park your MAIN mobile # @ activation, or get a new-number.

              @ activation, chose $10 10Gb data for 7d plan, https://www.amaysim.com.au/sim-plans

              You'll have use up $10 credit, hence $20 remaining-credit, 30 - 10.

AFTER 7d, do nothing. That $20 credit has a 365d expiry date. Your mobile # can receive calls & sms for free-> 'advantage of some signup deals, e.g. Youfoodz and Every Plate'
Your-plan becomes payg-plan automatically, ie you will pay for data, call-OUT & send-sms.

              @ say 364d, use $20 remaining-credit to buy $10 10Gb data for 7d, hence you'll have $10 credit left, 20 - 10. That $10 remaining-credit also have 365d expiry. This effectively extend your mobile # for 2 years.

              Repeat the above @ say 728d (364x2) & use the $10 remaining-credit to buy $10 10Gb data for 7d, hence you'll have $0 credit left, 10 - 10. That $0 remaining-credit DON'T have 365d expiry. Consider buying a $35 STARTER-pack for ANY-chance of extending to a max. 3 yrs, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/896428

              Any top-up is @ normal-price (no-discount) & hence many people will avoid.

              The above assume that,
1.You don't use any paying services during your payg-period: accidentally left data-on etc.
              2.Amaysim continues to allow REMAINING-credit to have 365d expiry-date.
3.Amaysim continues to offer $10 10Gb data for 7d, eg price increase.

              • @ab c: OK, that makes perfect sense now. That is genius! Thank you!

  • is Lebara any good?
currently using optus (for 1 month only because that's all they deserve) and sometimes the data is terrible in the Melbourne CBD and surrounds

  • Coles mobile starter kits also on special

  • Went to grab a couple of the $30 Amaysim packs from Coles today. The two stores that I checked had the shelf priced at $30 but they still scanned at $10/ea.
