Lion King 3D $11 w/ Glasses Limited Seats Some Money Goes to Charity EVENT Cinemas 18/09/11 2pm

NOTE NOT SURE IF CINEBUZZ IS A MUST BUT MEMBERSHIP IS FREE!

Plus 'w/' means WITH.

Event Cinemas is giving families a chance to see Lion King in 3D whilst donating to charity. It is $11 and therefore cheaper than going upfront. I didn't purchase myself, so if they do run out of tickets, leave a comment on ones that do.

I believe it is a copy of Lion King with 3D.

The following is cut from the e-mail.

Here's your chance to experience Disney's THE LION KING like never before, with a special advance screening in aid of Children's Hospital Foundations Australia(CHFA). This beloved classic roars onto screens for the first time ever in 3D only at Event Cinemas, Greater Union and Birch Carroll & Coyle on Sunday September 18 at 2pm for only $11*.

Melanie McKendry, National Director CHFA said, "Every seat sold helps touch the lives of over 1 million sick children cared for by our Hospitals around Australia each year."

See a great family movie and support Children's Hospital Foundations Australia.

    No Vic?!

    • Keep an eye on the Village Cinemas mailing list. You might get lucky.

    • I really want to go to this! they better release for Vic!!

  • man. cant wait to rewatch this!

  • Your chance to pick up some 3d glasses from dealextreme and sit there pimping :)

  • I just can't understand how a cartoon will be 3D, unless they animate it in a way.

    That made sense to me.

    • there is a program that can turn 2D shows into 3D - it is not as good as official "made for 3D" shows, but it's a start. I have seen a Samsung TV do the same thing, and it does make a difference.

Necessary? No, but some people (like my father-in-law) swear by it.

Also - has anyone seen that google maps STREETVIEW is now available in 3D?

      True !!! (with red/green glasses)

      • What I mean is, it's a 2D cartoon. Like, I'm sure it was a hand drawn cartoon at that.
So how would they add a 3D effect to it? It's like making Paper Mario 3D.

So it's a 3D version of a 17 year old cartoon, ok for charity.
