iPad 7th Generation (2019) 32GB Wi-Fi - $417.05 Delivered (HK) @ TobyDeals

540

Hey guys! It's my first post here so I hope I'm doing this right :) I've lurked around here for a while scouting out for an iPad and I think this is the lowest it's ever been. Perfect for students who want to use it for note-taking and just light browsing and stuff. Hope you enjoy.

  • Pricematch at ow to sweeten the deal!

    • does ow pricematch with tobydealsau?

      • +1

Usually only on a case by case basis. If the model/product is for instance identical. i.e Colour, capacity, and model is the same stocked at Officeworks.

Which being as this is a grey import ( Hong Kong) model and not an Australian based model. As they clearly don't declare the model series number in the description of the product page.. e.g MW742X/A ( which is the Australian based model number)

So it's not viable for price matching…

Also, Apple will honor the 1 year international warranty on it. But not the 2 year one you would receive with the Australian model due to the ACCC compliance on electronic devices. Especially, ones from Apple Australia.

However, can try your luck ?

        • iPad Warranty is local only, not international

          • +2

@jimbobaus: Oh Yes.. You’re absolutely correct… It’s The Apple Computer’s that have international warranty. I got them mixed up.
Thanks for your input, Champ :)

      • just rang OW, they declined to price match… would be keen to know if someone else was able to successfully price match.

        • Just buy it from TobyDeals

          • -1

@bargain ben: IMHO not worth it. With GC price comes down to around $425. Saving few bucks doesn't make much sense. If price match would have worked, it would have been a killer deal…

            • @Cisco123: Huh? GC? Do you have a link to explain?

              • @Gusper: as an example, with current price at OW ($469), I can use 10% discounted gift card to bring down cost to $422.10

                • +1

@Cisco123: So where can I get 10% off gift cards?

        • call them again.

Last week I pricematched 3 x ipads + 2x apple watches. It call comes case by case, try another operator.

          • @cauilfield: if you don't mind me asking, which site did you use to PM with OW?

            • @Cisco123: Toby deals

              • @cauilfield: Awesome! Will try again tomorrow.

                • @Cisco123: Please let us know if you have success. I tried last week and the call center operator declined saying Tobydeals was shipped from overseas with a different product code. If you successful can you provide the first name of the person you spoke with? Thanks

                  • @optimusprime: No luck. It seems there was a company wide memo to decline price match with Tobydeals

      • +1

They go out of their way to triple check when price-checking local retailers, so I have no-doubt they won't price match an online HK seller.

        • they will, it all depends on the call centre operator

  • How much does this usually go for when on specials

    • 10% off RRP is the norm.

  • Any confirmed stock?

  • Grey import?

  • Somebody price matched this with OW its a HK model as well.

  • I'm waiting on a deal with digit 3 in the front. OW price match might do the trick. I'll try my luck tomorrow at store.

  • $469 at Big W and Officeworks for local stock.

  • +2

I was trying to price match when it was 439$ with OW, local store was good but had no stock, and the operators aren't willing the match the 3 times I called. Ended up getting them to pricematch Big W and getting it for 445$ and I definitely say the 30$ is worth the peace of mind that comes with ACL protections.

    • +8

On top of the peace of mind you speak of from paying $30more, you have also contributed around $40 in GST alone, plus other helpful taxes going to the Aussie economy which Toby deal skirts. This fact alone is enough for me to buy locally.

    • So you mean Big W will price match this?

      • No, I got OW to pricematch $469 price Big W had.

  • +5

Be warned many ozbargainers have had bad experiences with tobydeals, me included. Never buying from then again.

    • I purchased 2 phones last year from tobysdeals postage was fast never had any problems

      • Agree, have nothing but good things to say about them. Luck of the draw

  • Matched an iPad with tobydeals at office works just before Christmas without an issue. Depends on who you get.

  • if you get in early on these cheap deals i think its great. Ive had good experiences with them (took 8 days only to get a phone delivered last time) but atm a bad one lol
im still waiting on my phone which has taken 2 weeks to process and its still out of stock apparently…yet they are selling the same one still!

  • So apparently Officeworks do not price match Grey imports ? I spoke to the manager who confirmed the same?????

    • I tried 3 OW and 2 JB, no luck, giving up.
