I have this one from the last deal at around this price, it's great for video streaming. The sound is amazing for a tablet, it has Dolby Atmos built in but I added the XEQ equaliser which improved it even further. Mine also came with a little case which isn't advertised. No complaints so far.

    • Hows the speed? Any lags?

Speed is great for everyday things like web surfing and video streaming. Haven't noticed any lags, 8 GB RAM seems to be fine. I put Niagara Launcher on it which makes it feel even snappier.

        • Niagara Launcher is a big deal. I actually bought the perpetual license for this.

    • Is it this app? Are you able to share (a screenshot of) your setting?

    • i have this too.

The only slight letdown is the display.

At this price, I would recommend paying a little more for the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2025. Much better specs.

    • Huge performance difference - https://nanoreview.net/en/soc-compare/mediatek-helio-g99-vs-…

Is it much of a pain to get the play store on the Pad Pro? Is there a global ROM for it?

      • Temped to try this rather than spending 1k on the samsung s10 secret sale. Just need it for general browsing, filling in forms

      • It's a matter of clicking a toggle. But some of the preinstalled apps might still be in Chinese (I just hide them)

      • You go into settings and enable Google Play Services. After a bit of time Google Play auto installs or you manually install it from the Lenovo app store or apkpure. There's no need for any other ROM as the ZUI ROM is better than stock Lenovo Android and has more features.

    • it costs at least $100 more, and is from China… ? Link?

      • I bought my 8GB/256GB XPP 2025 for approximately $50 more via the recent sale. There's another Aliexpress site wide sale coming up in a few days.

Just be prepare to put up with longer shipping time and inaccurate tracking info if you buy from the 70mai-Goldway seller, or pay a little more and buy from a Choice seller.

Reminder: Any returns / change of mind, even if the box hasn't been opened, will incur a bs 'restocking fee' which was like a crazy 20% from memory, with this Lenovo store.

  • Does anyone use this for Zoom? How is the mic and camera quality?

I'm thinking of using this to replace a Meta Portal Go which worked really well on a small conference table for Zoom sessions. The next closest thing looks like the Pixel Tablet with dock but that's way more expensive.

  • That's North Korean grade SoC

    • It's Chinese not North Korean

      • I meant Madusan, which is a North Korean phone, uses this G99 SoC as well

For those interested, I reached out to Lenovo to check on update life

    From their online chat
"Its upgradable until Android 16 and security patches until January 2028."

I should add… (I have this tablet for my aging mother)

There is this Lenovo app installed (forgot the name) that consumes a LOT of data. Not sure what it is exactly, didn't care too much for now as i'm not using it. But it can't be uninstalled and is just weird.

On that note, there's a lot of bloat that is just trash compared to Google's or Samsung's Android.

Pros: Speakers, build quality (the rear stand thing seems to be pretty decent for the past few months), speed (yes, the processor is suitable for the time being, for basic Netflix / YouTube etc.)

Cons: The screen is definitely a place where they cut corners. It's not bad, but just underwhelming and dim. Not a high resolution bright AMOLED etc. Also Lenovo's skin, not a fan, looks cluttered and has weird bloat (see above).

Also, it comes with a fancy carry case. The tablet must be taken out of the case to use.

Overall - mum's very happy, so i'm very happy. Could have gone for the Pixel tablet which was selling for a similar price, but Lenovo's bs 20% (or some silly number) restocking fee kept me from returning it. (The Pixel is more powerful but loses out on the speaker. Also the display aspect ratio of 4:3 compared to the Lenovo's wide screen)
