After heaps of requests the extremely popular 2025 version of the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro is back on sale for less and it packs a lot of punch for the price. This deal is strictly limited and applies to both the 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants in the colour grey. Once exhausted the price will go to US$216.49 (~A$344.95).

Compared to the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2023 the main improvements include the newer and faster flagship MediaTek Dimensity 8300 CPU that blows the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 out of the water making it far more suitable for gaming, a brighter 12.7" 600 nits display (was 400 nits), more future Android updates (currently ships with Android 14), 45W fast charging (was 20W), the option of 12GB RAM and Bluetooth 5.3.

Other features include ZUI 16 (Android 14), 12.7" 144Hz 2944x1840 LCD display with 600nits brightness, Widevine L1 DRM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage with microSD support, 8GB or 12GB RAM, 10200mAh battery with 45W fast charging, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 2 inbuilt mics, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint reader, WiFi 6 ax, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB-C 3.2 port with 4K@60Hz video out and pogo pins for a keyboard.

  • Add "Bundle: Limited" and either "Color: 8GB 128GB Grey" or "Color: 8GB 256GB Grey" to the cart
  • Apply the coupon OZAU20 or AUNY30 or AFAU20 at checkout

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate, GST inclusive and doesn't stack with cashback.

To enable Google Play, go to Settings > App Management > 3 dots top right > Google Basic Services > Turn on
Then download Google Play from the Application Center or sideload an apk yourself. If the English characters and spacing look off you can change the font to fix the issue, as shown here.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

My apologies if I forget to tag anyone.

thank you. tried to buy but the coupons are exhausted.

      • Thanks so much for remembering us @Clear! Unfortunately I missed out having dinner at friend's place….oh well I was after the 12gb ram one anyway. :)

    • Looks like I missed again, gone so quick.. the one time I went to bed early, lol. Moral of the story, don't sleeping early.

      Thanks @Clear for remembering.

    • Btw is this CN ROM? Was thinking of buying anyway, but saw in the description of the Aliexpress it says CN ROM?

Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.7 2025 is China Version with original China(CN) ROM, only support Chinese and English, Google play and OTA update.

      • +1

CN ROM is what you want.

    • Thanks @Clear!
      I managed to get one

  • How would this be for taking notes at university?

I thought you were going to link a cheaper tablet for $50, but this is better. I had a good laugh.

      • +2

        Username checks out.

    • +1

You would need a pen or a keyboard for that to even work

    • I'd say a tablet is one of the worst devices to use for taking notes in a lecture.
If "notes" involve just highlighting and commenting on a PDF then ok, but for any amount of typing I find it horrible. The handwriting recognition is OK but its not reliable enough to quickly take notes of spoken speech.

It depends on the course. If OP is doing a BA, there's no need for even the Kmart version -the only important things for a BA graduate to remember is that an almond latte uses almond milk and a soy latte uses soy milk.

  • Thanks Clear. I've been hanging out for a Xiaoxin tablet for a while to read Manga. Decided on this one!

    • +1

      Mihon works great!

      • +1

Ohh, thank you! I've been using Cover for Windows and really liked it. Mihon looks fantastic.

        • I've not used Cover but Mihon needs to be sideloaded and requires downloading extensions for the different sources and keeping them updated. Some settings need to be changed like turning off smart updates which prevents global updating from the library page. Searching for comics/manga is annoying as you need to select "All" instead of "Pinned".

It used to be called Tachiyomi so you can try searching that for any troubleshooting issues or ask me.

  • Thanks for the post. Any chance there would be a similar deal on the matte display?

    • +2

You could put a screen protector on it which will remove the glare.

  • great tablet, but when i ordered roughly took around a month to receive

    • +1

      This isn't the same seller.

      • thanks for clarification :)

  • Why did review say it can't run streaming services like netflix? Cos china banned google I guess?

    • +4

Streaming services will be no issue as it's ZUI and has Widevine L1

The original listing was for the Xiaoxin Pad 2023 "global" ROM and the unofficial ROM has issues. The listing was later updated for the 2025 version but the old reviews remain. The reason for changing the listing is because it ranks higher in search results.

Since it's a Big Save product it's eligible for free returns too 😊

None of the coupons listed are working for me? I've tried all available 'colours' under the Limited bundle option.

    • +1

Same. I think the deal is over.

  • +1

I have got this from the last deal and i have to say for the price its excellent. Significant improvements over a9+ tab i recently gave my brother.

  • When it comes to selecting Color: 8GB 256GB Grey from the options there are two options available that are both identical. But both of them at different price points.
Unsure which of the 2 to select

    • +1

      Choose the cheaper one.

  • None of the coupon worked.. maybe I missed something?

  • Coupons not working

  • Thanks Clear! Can someone recommend a pen to go with this tablet? Seeing multiple versions but not quite sure what the differences are and which one to get.

  • What is the difference between "limited" and "standard" bundle?. None of the codes working for me either anyway, says used up on "first come first served" basis

    • +1

I believe Limited=limited quantity at the discounted price.

  • Help with coupons, as others have said, they are not working

  • coupons not working anymore

  • -1

    $6 saving?

    • Tell me you read the deal without telling me you read the deal. The coupon takes US$20 off on-top of the limited price, on-top of the AliExpress sale price.

    • About $47 savings after GST has been added.

  • Hey @Clear, do you have any info if the UFS 4 storage on the 256gb model has a noticeable performance increase over the UFS3.1/128GB models?

  • +3

They still didnt return to OLED panels huh

    maybe next version

    • +1

Will they ever? I'm on that queue too.

      • Just get a Sammy on a big discount for oled and firmware updates

        • How big a discount? My last (and first) tablet was a Lenovo M10 3rd gen I got for $99 from Aldi (and have since passed on to the offspring). No way I'm spending more than $300.

    • I'm glad I got the older one with OLED instead of the waiting now.

Its sometimes not. Bright enough compares to Samsung and LG OLED panels I have on other devices. But still prefer it to LCDs.

  • Are most keyboards compatible or do we need to get the 2025 version too?

  • I paid $427 for this back in November, presumably with cash back. That was me 'settling' for less, as I actually wanted a GPD rather badly, but couldn't justify the cost. This seems alright so far, haven't really put it to the test though. The screen brightness has a niggling issue with automatic dimming - it usually dims itself too low, and much too often, which is annoying. Also, it seems possible that there could be some malware on it. While I was setting it up/installing apps, I received a strange popup notification in my ebay app, which definitely wasn't from ebay. Perhaps I installed a dodgy apk earlier on, really can't say to be sure. Not to worry though, I'll probably install a different ROM on it at some stage/degoogle it ideally.

    • Which one? With a CN ROM, didn't it come degoogled out of the box?

      • +2

Yes, I got the CN ROM after reading comments about the global ROM. Not sure if either of those ROMs are 100% trustworthy, so I'd still rather install a different ROM for peace of mind.

        • Which one?

        • @amazon I got mine previously and have been looking to get something like LineageOS. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a custom ROM for it even a TWRP image to try going with a GSI image yet. Still looking occasionally but have currently settled for going a bit aggressive using the Universal Android Debloater.

          • @behindthearcane: Have you been able to unlock the bootloader? I got the sn.img from the Lenovo website but trying to unlock in fastboot gives me an error

            • @65 7a: @65 7a No. I have not been able to even get the sn.img file from http://www.zui.com/iunlock. I keep getting a message saying that the IMEI is wrong despite selecting the Lenovo Tablet option which does not have an IMEI field. I have seen others report your issue though on XDA and 4PDA. How did you get the sn.img so that I can give it a try on my end?

            • @65 7a: @65 7a I managed to get the sn.img file but am also getting an error when attempting to flash it.

          • @behindthearcane: I'm wondering if postmarketos will be compatible at some stage. It currently supports the Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 (lenovo-q706f).
Will see if I can add mine to the postmarketos device wishlist :)

            • @amazon: @amazon A linux tablet would definitely be interesting. The Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021 currently has the ROM and a TWRP image available so this one (the 2025 model) may have to wait until that stage. That one is also Snapdragon based. Personally, I would probably prefer mine to stay android for the sake of battery life. I have enough linux machines. First time I have heard of postmarketos though. Will look into it.

  • Missed this - but @Clear maybe you can start working on a deal for 2025 y700 legion - thats one i am really after but price has jumped heaps from 2023 version!. Have the 2022 version snapdragon 870) which just died (wont charge from a flat battery) but that device was amazing…

    • +1

      That's a short lifespan! 🤔

      Not under warranty?

  • Bought this few weeks back, love it but have no idea what to do on it tbh. Got the keyboard now on the way 🫠
