I have this one. Plenty fast for web browsing and light tasks. Killer speaker system - beats most laptops I've had. Screen is good quality. Comes with a case. Great value for this price
Wish I had education email

If you went to an uni in Australia, try to get access to your alumni email. I am using mine to get free Microsoft 365 and a lot of other student discounts
Thought this could be used as an external monitor for gaming device like switch?
No
The problem with these devices is after a year or 2 they slow down and become sluggish. Not sure if it’s hardware or updates to OS on android but for these reason steer clear.
What do you mean "these devices"?
In my opinion this might happen because of increasingly demanding apps (including web apps and websites)… But if you stick to basic shit, it should be fine.
…and as it ages, it may need a repasting of thermal paste for renewed cooling.
Lenovo and other android i.e. TCL, Samsung etc. as opposed to Apple which tend to keep up speed.. just been reading forums on Reddit people review the tablet and then come back a year later and advise sudden drop in performance.
My 5 year old Android tablet has improved performance in dolphin emulation. There's games that are playable now that years ago it wouldn't even be able to run. My ipad runs dolphin emulation great but it's a pain in the but to get jit to run all the time. So I'm gone back to the old inferior performance Android for emulation. To be honest though, I think the fact my Android tablet doesn't get os updates anymore means performance doesn't really degradate as much as my older ios devices have. Also I find basic stuff that I typically do on my tablet like stremio and YouTube don't really require much power. I don't know about modern Android games, rather emulate old games than play the pay to win modern crap. Lol
Recovery mode > wipe cache
Your phone/tablet would be running like new.
Old wives tale. My mum has a 5 year old Samsung tablet still running the same. Only ones that get slowed down are the ones Apple got busted slowing down.
Any reason why this isn't getting so much upvotes?
Ozbargainers seem to upvote the cheap Chinese car deals like there's no tomorrow… Probably bots… But this tablet represents very good value IMO.
High resolution screen, kinda big size too, albiet a bit dim, though should be perfectly fine indoors.
Speakers are probably THE best… From reviews, this tablet is a fat heavy bastard, thanks to the amazing speakers.
Performance is not flagship seems to be adequate, and you shouldn't expect flagship level performance at this price anyway.
It has a "desktop mode", which is a bit similar to Samsung Dex, though a simpler version / scaled back in comparison for whatever reasons according to the reviews I've seen… The fact that it has this mode similar to Samsung Dex is better than nothing.
What else can you expect especially at this price… A free BYD? This deal should have more upvotes.
(Finally can retire my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (2014)).
Edit: there are better deals (or were), though from China / AliExpress: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/874634
Personally, i don't like the chunky bottom of it. that will probably be why most people fade
That's for the speaker system (it's chunky but it sounds ridiculously good for a tablet).
It does make it so you can't really use it in a portrait mode like an iPad for very long. It has a very good and solid built in stand which puts it in landscape mode, which is how mine usually stays. Another cool feature is being able to use it as a Bluetooth speaker - you can basically connect whatever Bluetooth device you like to it. I've used it a few times, connecting my Galaxy Flip to it for tunes. It won't thump as hard as a dedicated Bluetooth speaker but it sure is a massive improvement on phone speakers and standard tablet speakers.
Not sure why you've been downvoted, I have this tablet and am a fan. I don't doubt that there are more high performance tablets out there, but I don't use it for anything too intense so it's perfect for my use case.
The Lenovo desktop mode is actually pretty cool - not quite as comprehensive as Samsung DEX but it does offer a straightforward way of connecting a keyboard and mouse and using it a bit more like a typical laptop. It's not all that heavy, or at least not when compared to my wife's iPad wearing its protective case. And I can confirm that the speakers are extremely impressive.
some of you think mentioning 'Chinese' is some sort of slur, how did you come across this sort of mentality? lol
This isnt even that good value of a tablet the processor sucks, the build is low quality
I think it is because not all of us has edu email address to take advantage of this deal.
Please post a screenshot with price. Thanks!
Thanks mate. Quokka very Happy now! :-)
They also have to Tab P12 for $377.10 down from $699. Might be a decent upgrade over the tab plus for an extra $80.

How does it compare to this tablet?
Damn, just spent similar a couple months ago for the Sammy A9 Plus. This one seems much better spec'd.
On the plus side, I switched it with my dads older Sammy S6 lite with the S-Pen that he never used..
Anyone have an edu account I can use?
Hold out for Black Friday and I reckon there's a decent chance at a similar price, particularly if it stacks with a boosted cashback
i have the same processor in a phone and its largely quite ok for what it is
these dicks asking $549 is a joke obvs
