  • Yes it’s targeted

And OP, please add what the arbitrary numbers are actually worth.

6000 bonus points for $100 spend for me.

    • +1

Same, stack with code DEC10 to get a further $10 off and pay with swish gift card for a extra 5% off.

      • Just curious about the DEC10 to get $10 off. If we had to spend $100 to get 6000 points, do we actually have to spend $110 otherwise once they deduct the $10 off, it brings the total to $90 which means we don't get the 6000 points

    • Yep got this one too

    • +1

Me too! The funny thing is…. I was going this evening with the MRS! $30 off is an extra awesome incentive and don't forget to buy the gift card for an extra 5% off.

    • same……. have to find something for $100 in the specials..

  • 8000 points for $150 in one shop here. :(

So far I’ve missed out on these. The weeks we exceeded the amounts? Nadda! LOL (sigh)

    • Got the same offer.

  • how do you still have alarm setup in this joyous period?

    • Lol. To make sure I can enjoy some joyful time with my PS4 without wasting too much time on bed.

  • +5

Both my man, and I, just completed one of these. Our current one is 2000 for $50.

The idea is to normally shop below the limit and then they will tempt you to up it by giving you points. Once we have got the points we keep each shop low until they offer us more points.

  • +1

I pushed the button in your link and it does nothing!

    • +8

Ah, JV again, just pressing people's buttons.

      • -1

        I was just following instructions.

        • +2

If you press by button, my outie becomes and innie ;)

  • 2000 points for $50 spend for me

    • Me too.

    • Me too. Spend by 05/01/2020 received last Thursday. Not as good as this one with 4000 points on the same spend but by 31/12/2019.

  • +4

Yay, another pointless targeted offer post.

    • I like these. Now I know to check my emails.

  • +2

I've got 8000 for $150. Time to stock up with rum.

    • Ok pirate

      Exclusions
Qualifying amount excludes withdrawal of cash, delivery charges and Delivery Saver items, internet cafes, purchases of smoking/tobacco products and accessories, liquor purchased in-store at Woolworths or at woolworths.com.au

  • Nothing here.
Just did both a 4000 and 2000 bonus point offer with $50 spend though.

  • Got it on my account.

  • Didn't get an offer on either card. Harrumph

  • +1

how did you come upon this?

    emailed? woolworths app?

    • Emailed.

    • +1

I've never had one targeted at me. I always get Flybuys offers. But my everyday rewards are non existent. Ive checked my details are correct. But they just dont send me anything.

      • +1

Double check if you allowed communications with you (some Chek boxes).
As well you need to scan your Woolworths Rewards card sometimes.

        • Thanks i had a look but i cant even receive the verification emails from everyday rewards. I think gmail is rejecting them for some reason. They don't go into spam or any other folders.

I do however receive woolworths emails. Might need a new account. I cant change my email without the verification email.

Flybuys & Coles are KAK. I've had issues with Flybuys and shopping on Sundays. The transactions are only registered on Mondays, so I always need to shop an additional time to meet the targeted amount of shops.

  • Does anyone know if this actually excludes gift cards? I know the T&C's say it's excluded, but previously this was never the reality.

    • +1

      Won't work.

Just received the $150/8000 points offer. Like a true Ozbargainer I spent $150.91, saved $60 with my purchases and gained and extra $40 in points, not too bad.

A tip though, I generally prefer to do my grocery shopping in store but when when it comes to these targeted spends, I do it online. I find it easier to do strategic shopping buying only what I really need and spending just enough to get the points.

A few weeks ago, I asked my wife to spend $150 to get bonus points. She said 'Easy!' and ended up spending $250 in store. Yes, although we received the bonus points but we (she) also bought products we did not need or already had e.g we now have 6 toothpastes in the bathroom which should take a bit of time to work through.

    • +1

The issue I'd have with online is if they alter the order and you narrowly miss…

I do prefer how Woolies does accumulative offers though.

      • +2

        Had this happen with Coles/FlyBuys.
You just ring customer service and explain the situation, they will give you the points if it is within a certain %

        • Thanks, didn't know that :)

        • +1

Yep, I find Coles/Woolies would be very helpful and understanding to keep their customers happy with these sort of matters.

I saw a promotion with BWS for bonus points but missed the small print and purchased too early for the bonus points. A quick chat with the rewards programme and the points were given as a sign of goodwill

    • +1

Only stock up on already discounted items, like 40% off toothpastes or 1/2 price tuna ;-)

    • Oooh I'd be careful of that. I got an offer but apparently it was in store spend only. I had to argue back and forth in email to claw my points back since I've done a "click and collect" not technically an on-line order.

  • +1

Instead of points just give me the best price every time !!!

    • +8

True ozbargainers only purchase half price specials

      • +2

SO MUCH THIS! Plus only buy products that you like/will use.

        • +1

What's the shelf life of condoms? ….Waiting for Magnum XL to go on special!

      • +1

        That is true.

It would have been hard to spend $150 on just half price specials. I spent $150 and saved $60. A master ozbargainer would have $150 and saved $150 but I am not at that level yet. I have only been a member since 2012 and have much to learn…

        • +1

But we all have to buy groceries a true ozbargainer gets them at $60 off.

      • …and milk.

  • 8000 for $150 for me. Don't know if I'll bother.

  • +1

As a single person household I struggle to even buy $50 in one go, let alone $100 for the 6000 pts offered to me.

    • Yeah.

My problem too. So hard to find $50 to spend at one time. I buy things in bulk when I'm running out of stock & they go on special, which means my pantry is always nearly full, which means there is little I want to buy at this precise moment when I get one of these offers.

    • +1

      Open 3 ww accounts,
      And rotate using them,

Then there is a higher chance your offers will be lower on at least one card

  • Offered 8,000 for $150 spend. Just did my $151 shop last night 😏 Time to stock up on… something.

    • Return it all and repurchase? :P

  • 500 points for $40 spend for me.. Not thanks

  • +2

6000 points for $100, tempted to try buying online for that extra $10 but…

So I'm going to go smash out the bottled water, soft drinks, chocolate, paper towels etc. (Get your perishables last, gives you time to browse to hit that spend)

I perform running calculations on my phone, don't want to be throwing through $1 chocolate bars at the checkout just to hit that $100 spend!

    • But how much of those items will be full priced just to hit the target?

      • +1

Only the stuff that never goes on discount. Never seen Enos on special. Maybe the junk stuff is the loss leader to sell you the Enos.

      • +1

Almost all of them were 50% off today, or they NEVER go on special. Walked away with so much, at the end of the day, plenty of Coca Cola and other soft drinks, a little bit of chocolate and paper towels/tissues. Things that will last another year.

        Only $65.38 out of pocket.

        • Just have to ensure the points are paid out! How long does it take to show up in account?

Edit: so 6000 is $30? Can you discount the full 30? Or only $10 at a time/per transact?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: The points are added instantly as soon as you scan your card and make payment. It tells you on the receipt that they have been added.

You can also deduct the full $30 straight away off any next shop. So I can buy $30.05 worth of items today and pay $0.05 in cash/card.

  • +2

Reckon I'm going to just delete my Woolworths Rewards account. Never get targeted for bonus points, and it's not worth it for just the base points.

    • +1

Get another one and let each card compete for your business. I have access to 6 cards (Me, partner, mother, dog, chicken and daughter) and only one got this offer.

      • The chicken?

        • Is that age restriction for a reward account? Don’t think your chicken eligible, maybe neither your dog.

    • Do you scan your card when you shop…?

      • +1

Not unless there's a bonus point offer.

        • +1

It is the problem. Woolies have a quite sophisticated way to calculate customers they want to target and need their shopping history. Unless they want to target lapsing customers, you are going to be missed.

          • @Cupa Bundy Drinker: Flybuys is the opposite. The less you spend while scanning the card, the better the offers.

            • +1

@gilbarc: I always top up my Opal at Coles when I get these offers (using discounted Coles CG from AGL). Good that travel cards earn bonus points at coles unlike woolies!

              • @donotuse: Wish we could do that in QLD with the go card.

              • @donotuse: You earn 0.5% with points, but AFAIK AGL sells Coles Gc with 4% discount. When you can easily buy Woolies GC with 5% discount via Cashrewards

                • +1

@Cupa Bundy Drinker: AGL still sells Coles eGC at 5% off. I know because I just ordered one last week. But it takes 3 business days and only if paid by bank transfer. Unlike Suncorp where you can pay using credit card and get the eGC in a few minutes, but only 4% off.
