Hi Ozbargainers,

Got a really good deal for flights to Christchurch, New Zealand. Got an email telling me that Jetstar is having a sale on flights to Christchurch from Brisbane, Sydney and Gold Coast. I went there in the July holidays and it cost me $250 return so this is cheaper than going to most destinations in Australia. I booked in the return trip to Brisbane and it cost $99 Brisbane to Christchurch and cost $58 Christchurch to Brisbane through the Jetstar website. Dates are 26 Oct - 07 Dec 2011, and 01 Feb - 28 Mar 2012. Good for university students who only start uni in March.

Other Points: After the Earthquake all of the city has been confined and no-one can go in, so for tourists the main attraction would be the antarctic center or using it as a gateway to other parts of New Zealand, like Queenstown, Auckland etc.

        Besides, these ONE-way fares have been around for a few months now, same with Virgin Happy Hour, Nothing new…

    You have to go to the booking stage, use the dates stated in my description above, it definitely works, I just tried it again (Feb 2-16). The $9 one way fares are usually limited seats and only for a couple hours before they sell out, this is for a couple different months.

    I found $174 return from Melbourne to Christchurch excluding checked baggage and booking fee. Decent.

      Jetstar A320s dnt have Business Class, their A330 fleet do.
