Bonus 1000 Yums (Worth $20 off Future Booking) with a Booking @ TheFork (Formerly Dimmi)

1230
SWEETYUMS

I was offered this promo code on live chat when I was enquiring about the new yums points system.
Normally you get 150yums per booking on the app (or 50yums via the website). Using this promo code credits you 1000yums, which could be used as $20 credit towards your next booking at participating restaurants.
The rep said it’s valid until the end of the year. Only one use per account.

Mod Note: New expiry date is 31/03/2020 - Credits to OP.

  • How can you enter the code in the app?

    • +1

At the final page just above ‘confirm your booking’ button

  • when you make a booking when you turn up, do they tick your name off?

Because some of the places on my list are like pubs and dont take bookings

    • +2

I've used yum at pubs including station hotel in footscray and a couple others. It would just apply to the dining room not the front bar so no lunch specials or whatever. The dining room at pubs typically takes bookings.

What if you book and just get a coffee lol. Is there such thing as too cheap for an ozbargainer.

    • +1

you could be even cheaper and walk out after confirming the booking

      • +2

        Don't tempt me

        • +1

make sure you grab those free after dinner mints on the way out!

        • +1

          enjoy some nice tap water

and maybe if condiments are complimentary get some take-away

          • +3

@zhuntai: That's the plan. Booked for lunch tomorrow! Wish me luck guys! Can then use the points for christmas dinner with the mrs /s

This new program is going South. They used to have many restaurants for redeeming points, but now these places are so limited and the restaurant only offer $50 discount 2000Yums (former 20000pts). It looks better for $50 but restaurant available for redemption is more expensive dinning and limited variety. Prefer the 10000pts for $20 in previous reward.

  • +4

I feel like the restaurant list for the new yums rewards redemption is even worse than dimmi. I should have spent my points before they were bought by the fork.

Used this app extensively in Europe, some nice restaurants with 50% off the menu. Good to see it stepping up in Australia.

    • +1. we did this and was able to save lots while enjoying great food.

Australia version doesn't have many places with Offers. Only a handful in around North Sydney.

  • +1

Is nobody going to say that 'yums' as currency sounds ridiculous

    • +3

Makes more sense than our national currency name 'dollarydoos'

  • So a couple questions.. Only one promo code allowed per booking?
Do we have to dine-in or can we takeaway (if available)?
And can we use other coupons, entertainment book, shopadocket etc at the restaurant?

    • Pretty sure it’s only one promo code per booking, but haven’t tried. Dine in only, it’s a restaurant booking after all. No troubles using coupons or other promotion at the same time in the past.

      • Same experience regarding dine in. Could use the entertainment card and the restaurants have no issues with that.
The only exception is when TheFork runs promo's where it won't stack with any other offer.

        • Oh ok thanks.. So their 50% off promos won't stack with entertainment book?

Major issues with The Fork. Lost all my points during the transfer to their new system, I have contacted them but I have had no reply.

Secondly only 4 restaurants in Perth allow for the Yums points which is a cut back from the last system.

    • It took them about 3 weeks to get back to me, and they restored the points for me and gave me extra 800 yums for the inconvenience. So if you contacted them via the app like I did, you should hear from them eventually.

      • I gave up and requested they delete my account. I won’t be using them anymore.

  • Yes, only 25 redeeming restaurants in Sydney and static. There used to be 70 odd at least. I can only think the $50 redemption is scaring them off.

    • Yes much more limited now. I managed to redeem my transferred over pts "yums" on the weekend for brunch. Paid $2.50 in the end for 2 coffees, 2 juices and 2 breakfast mains. The only good thing now is that you can redeem up to $50 rather than the $20 limit under the old system (which typically meant it'd only cover less than half the bill).

  • yeah Ijust had a look at available restaurants in my state

    very saad

  • Looks like theres another code for 1000 Yums

Get it on Google Play Download on the App Store. Bonus 1,000 Yums* when you first book on TheFork app with the code APP19

    • Might be targeted didn't work for me and it says it's a loyalty offer when you try

      • “first book”

  • try contacting them

    Que cherchez vous ?

  • got my 1000 yums,
will use it when Iactually find a place to use it at

unlikely im going to try and aim for 2000pts

    • How long did it take for the 1000 yums to arrive in account?

  • +1

Just going to say we used our Yums in Mondo Fresco (Riverton) one of the 4 places that accepts them in WA.
Glad we did, he food was nice and really good price. With the $20 discount and the children sharing a adult pizza, just over $25 for dinner for a family of 4.
    Bargain :)

    • Thanks for the tip. I'm thinking of booking a table at one of my local pubs tomorrow using The Fork, grab a pint, and run with the Yums!

      • +1

I doesn't aplly for drinks though? I went to a place and got onion rings then ran.

        • I booked for yesterday, the pub had no system for receiving or recognising online bookings (whether via The Fork or others) and the manager hadn't even heard of the app. I ended up staying for a counter-meal and a drink, it will be interesting to see if I get my 1000 Yums.

Hey guys, the deal is still on, I put a request for the mods to unexpire the deal. The new expiry is 31/03/2020, just confirmed with an agent. Use it in conjunction with TheFork 50% festival if not used already :)

Just noticed that, if you use a referral code, you get the same 1000 Yums amount. No time limit.

So, if joining up, use the referral code, then for a subsequent booking use this code.

      • I did this multiple times referral partner and parents. Used points from referral for a free feed and then subsequently the SWEETYUMS for another free feed. Is there such thing as too cheap for an ozbargainer?

        • Hi, where do you actually enter the referral code? Each time I am trying to enter it at the "offer code" box before confirming the booking - it says "This code is not recognised; please enter it again or delete it."

Is "offer code" the right place to enter a friend's referral code?

  • Coming up as invalid for me, Im using app, and not a new user
