omg i was after one of these

i hope its not the defect ones
    how do we check?

    how much is shipping?

  • Don't buy ..it was recalled….http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/997805

    • +5

That only applies to the ones sold between 24th February 2010 - 21st October 2010, it is now 2011…

      • Probably "found" all the old returns packaged up in the warehouse and decided to sell them again now.

i just went to SuperCheapAuto @ Bankstown NSW, its not the recalled batch.. should be safe..
looks big in picture but the thing is tiny… maybe for a small car not a 4wd…
theres the 2500kg one , real big but way too expensive $185…

Hmm great find, hopefully they don't "jack up" the prices when I get there.

Made by a chinese backyard factory then put the sca brand on it.please don't play your life with this.not worth it.

    • +2

How are you "playing your life" with this?

      • maybe if you under a car??? not sure?

        • +6

I assumed that's what kluger meant, but you are not meant to get under your car with just a trolley jack supporting the vehicle.

        • +7

NEVER get under a car with just a jack- no matter what brand it is.

this jack is perfectly fine to lift the car, then lower it onto some stands.

plus vote because pretty good price for a decent car jack, thanks OP.

don't risk it. Buy a decent one..

    • +8

You should be using jack stands once the car is jacked up, regardless of the quality of your jack. (haha that sounds weird)

They wouldn't be selling them from the same (old) batch with the same problem. Or at least they wouldn't be aware of any problems just yet …

    • All the better reason to buy it now then get a refund a few months later when it gets recalled ;)

Can't be very practical lugging a 1400kg trolley jack around. how are you going to get it out of the car?

    • that was quite poor.

    • +1

I thought that was a bit heavy too.

good price. my batch no is 4501393508.
also bought the pair of car stands for the same price, worked well for my oil change.
