Update from shopback rep: Unfortunatly we got beaten to posting the offer and couldn't control the T&Cs on the post. We understand that this isn't your fault and have decided to also honor all user's transactions that came through during the flash sale even if they made multiple transactions.

  • how do you get discount from zip?any special code?

  • Thanks SB, grabbed Lego Land Rover

  • The KitchenAid Cold Brew maker was a head smasher at about $85 delivered using prime. Usually $160! Would of bought but a friend didn't know if he wanted it.

Coca cola was down to about 40c a can, but you had to have extra in your cart for free delivery if you didn't have prime

  • I kept trying to activate the cashback but I consistently received the following message: An error has occurred. Please inform us at [email protected].
Wasn't able to take advantage of the deal :/

    • I find shop back is buggy if you have more than one window open on the site you are buying on. I close multiple windows and clear the cart, then add everything again to make sure it works.

    • I saw that error too, now im worried i didnt get my cashback =\

  • I made a purchase within the time frame and clicked through from shopback website to activate it, havent received an email tracking of sale notification yet

    • It usually takes a couple of days.

    • as per shopack (cashback can take up to 4 days) usually quicker though

  • @gotyourback if I cancel a subscription to an item will my cashback get cancelled? Not cancelling the order itself, the subscription.

    • +1

Pretty sure there’s no cashback on stuff bought through “subscribe and save”, so regardless of whether you cancelled the subscription there’s no cashback anyway.

      • You're right actually, thank you!

  • Just bought some red bulls in very last minute.

  • … and I just see this now doh!

Ps4 pro for $250 or slim for $157?? Can't decideeeee

    • I went for pro and cancelled my other 2 orders for one over the past two days…

    • Pro has slightly better detail and refresh rates. Definitely notice in graphics intensive games (unless you are Stevie Wonder).

Not to mention the increased storage size etc it's a no brainer if you are into anything more than casual gaming

    • How did you calculate to get the Pro for $250?

  • Took the plunge, had a lot of issues with ShopBack not tracking and this is a lot off if it does!

  • I hope I made it in time. Also someone should have gotten $10 from me signing up..

  • @gotyourback, I hope my 2nd order can also get 20% off which is a $35 video game, and $44 for the first order, both total not reaching the $50 cap.

Missed out. I took too long trying to work out when 6pm AEDT was.

You probably need to set up a dual clock on your PC or phone. The country operates on AEDT unfortunately for you.

didn't neg you but … what do you mean by "The country operates on AEDT"

        • it means that every time there is a date and start or end time given, it's always based on AEDT time. Or whatever the time is in Melb/Sydney if daylight savings is not active.

        • what do you mean by "The country operates on AEDT"

          The country of Ozbargainia!

It's the D in AEDT that did me in.

      • The country operates on AEDT

Only some people who live in a daylight-saving zone believe that. Ozbargain search proves you wrong, there are deals listed with AEST specified, at a time when daylight savings was in effect.
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/aest

Some even believe that Sydney or Melbourne time is AEST, irrespective of daylight savings. I regularly get annoyed with StGeorge Bank, who report my BPAY payments as "12:30AM AEST" when it's actually 11:30PM AEST.

        • AEDT when it is active, AEST when it is not.

The important part is the AE.

Set your clock to Melbourne/Sydney time and you won't have to worry about whether it is ST or DT.

Picking out one or two exceptions to the rule does not make it anything more than that; an exception.

          • @lostn:

AEDT when it is active, AEST when it is not.

I know the difference, I'm just commenting on the mistaken belief that "The country operates on AEDT".

Set your clock to Melbourne/Sydney time

Not a practical option for someone who doesn't live in a daylight-savings area. We don't receive warnings about when to set the clock forwards or backwards either.

            • @Russ:

I know the difference, I'm just commenting on the mistaken belief that "The country operates on AEDT".

That's splitting hairs. Anytime AEDT exists, it is the default time zone. AEST will not be used over AEDT when it exists. If it doesn't, it defaults to AEST. As long as you're set to Sydney time, that's what they're going to use.

Not a practical option for someone who doesn't live in a daylight-savings area. We don't receive warnings about when to set the clock forwards or backwards either.

Which is why I originally said get a dual clock. This is available as a widget, or maybe built into Windows. Same with phones.

Very lucky I checked just now. Almost missed out.

I do wonder if the competition will respond with their own flash sale. I guess I'm going to be glued to this site for the evening…

  • Hey I just realise it's 6:05, I hope I made it in too!

    • Probably not. Sorry!

    • well, looks like I'll cancel and wait for cyber monday!

  • +6

That'll teach me for not checking OzBargain every hour.

    • +2

Me too. Less screen time my ass

    • Me three. Just open ozb and saw this deal :)

  • C'mon, extend it please…..just got back home…

At this rate, my Shopback and Cashrewards account will have more money in them than my actual bank account.

  • +2

Oh shit… I forgot it's daylight savings everywhere else… Time to cancel this order I guess

    • In the eyes of the businesses, only city that matters is Sydney rest of Australia does not exist.

  • Oh man I noticed at 5:57 and ordered a Switch Lite. Is $229 a good price?

  • Hi REP,
I added the item to cart just before 6. If I pay now, will I get the 20% cashback?
    Thanks

    • No.

    • +1

Haha you're dreaming - not with shopback..!

    • Nope. You need to checkout by 6pm.

    • I also can't tell. Not sure if it was checked out at 6pm or 6.01/.02pm

Gmail email confirmation came at 6.01pm but I'm sure it would have taken a bit of time for Amazon to send the email

      • +1

You look at the time before you checkout. No room for flexibility with SB

        • shopback got our back. they have awesome service

      • Nope, got the email instantly.

    • Oh well.. I get to keep that money in my account then lol - Thanks for replying everyone

  • +3

    Noooo damn you daylight savings

    • +1

Sht I just missed as well

  • +7

jeez you really can't leave the house during Black Friday weekend

  • I should have canceled and reordered yesterday's $84 Galaxy Fit. Damn. I had enough room for it in the $50 cap. $16.80 right there. :/

  • +1

And I notice this at 6:03pm. FML.
    I'm destined to never own a PS4. Bring on PS5 😔

  • Not. Long. Enough!

  • Ah shit. Can't believe I missed this.
Oh well, saved me a whole lot of shit I don't need anyway :P

  • +1

Can anyone explain to me how this cashback system works?

  • PLEASE SOMEONE REPLY (Repost)
Hi, can you please clarify what you mean by the word "transaction". Do you mean one item bought, total? Or do you mean multiple items from a single seller in one buy though? Or do you mean multiple items from multiple sellers but all purchased in the single order?
I need to know if I have to cancel stuff lol

      Hey,

Unfortunatly we got beaten to posting the offer and couldn't control the T&Cs on the post. We understand that this isn't your fault and have decided to also honor all user's transactions that came through during the flash sale even if they made multiple transactions.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

      • +1

        Thanks, you too

      • +6

If that ain't good customer service, I don't know what is.

        • Cashrewards can learn a thing or two lol

      • +3

I stopped at one transaction - so much for playing by the rules!

      • Good on SB for doing the righty..

Think the T&C writers dropped the ball on this one if they intended it to be one transaction. I read and re-read the website and it definitely didn't give the impression that was the case.

      • Wow, I missed buying anything, but that has to be in the customer service hall of fame!

  • Redo on Monday maybe?

    • I second this

      • yes, no cap and unlimited transactions

  • +5

Wait a second. I waited until 5pm… In Brisbane!!!

    • Sorry, waited 3600 seconds too long :)

    • That's not a second

  • Hi @gotyourback, I used the wrong payment method the first time so I cancelled and reordered. Will my cashback still track for the second order?

    • Did you reorder before 6? If not, no bonus cashback for you.

      • Yea completed by 5:55pm just more worried since my first order was cancelled. Seems like it might be alright looking at the rep's comment.

  • +4

Damn it. Just missed it. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

  • Damn just seen the Samsung Galaxy S10e is on a Black Friday sale for $789.00, would have been $631.20 with the 20% cashback!

    • +1

      Max $50

      • Ah yes thanks for reminding me, forgot about that in the excitement. I don't feel like I missed out now :)

  • I got 2 x DS4 controllers ($44 each) and Zelda Links Awakening for $56. Happy days

  • does anyone know if shopback will state something different as being tracked for this flash promo as opposed to the normal promo?

ie. Amazon Flash Promo or something. I'm not sure if my order went through in time as I ordered at 5.59pm but the Amazon email didn't come till 6pm. The Amazon site doesn't have a time stamp on the order? Thanks

    • 6pm is still counted. So whether you checked out at 5:59 or 6:00 you are still eligible for full cashback

Hi rep, first time using Shopback and didn't realise I needed to have my adblock disabled. Hopefully no issues claiming my cashback here?

    • God knows why you're getting negged for this comment.

It's a good idea to have ad-blockers disabled because they may interfere with the behind the scenes order tracking that is required in order for cashback/affiliates to function. However in the past I've received cashbacks when I still had an ad-blocker active. Only thing to do now is wait, if you get tracking of the order on shopback in the next day or two you should be good to go.

      • My adblock in chrome doesn't cause any problems with shopback or cash rewards. Doesn't mean yours won't, but just an example.

I do find the safest way now is to use their mobile apps.

      • Thank you.

Yeah, wasn't sure why the question got negged but oh well.

My purchases track fine with cashrewards with adblock active. Just didn't read the info about adblock before making the purchase on shopback. Hopefully if it doesn't track, I can contact them and have it activated manually.

        Thanks for the response though.

I bought both yesterday and today through shopback on both Amazon and eBay, so far nothings tracked.

The chemist warehouse transaction did track and email came through last night.

Is there an issue, of should I just wait?

    • +1

It takes a few days usually to track.

    • Tracking isn't that fast. Need to wait a few days usually.

  • I really wanted to find something that I need, so I was looking for a smartwatch, but Amazon has very limited and expensive product range compared to Ebay, Rebel or even David Jones. Bit of a shame.

    • Literally NO-ONE on Earth NEEDS a smartwatch.

      • I can't stop thinking about what if my phone dies and I don't have my wallet with me, but I need to pay for my coffee. It is like a horror movie mate :)

        • Exception granted.

  • +3

I noticed at 5:45pm and bought random things without thinking to add it up to $250. But found out most of the items are cheaper elsewhere 😐
