Really nice monitor mount. I'm using this for 3 months now.

  • +2

I'm assuming that if the monitor is too heavy, it will sag? My monitor is apparently 7.1~kg without it's stand :(

    • +6

From experience, it will fall down, and you might end up with the bottom of your monitor touching your desk…

    • How about something like this? It says up to 15kg and it's only $28.02

Try this stand from ozplaza.living for $39.92 with PITCH20 code. Similar gas spring design and supposedly rated for up to 9kg.

    • i got the dual gas arm mount from Kogan for $39 and each arm I think is rated for 9kg, I put my 8kg 4K monitor on one arm and it isn't a problem at all, after turning the adjustment bolts a few times it works fine. I don't get the impression at all that it would sag and someone said the gas is rated for 12 months. If the gas goes bad I'd brace the monitor underneath with something. The pivot mount isn't gas driven so that will never sag, but the arm itself may lower one day until the monitor touches your desk?

    Thank you OP!

can this be installed on a glass top computer desk?

    • +2

Yes but I don't think it would be a wise idea to put weight concentrated on a small area of glass.
If your desk just has glass on top of a more solid material like wood, then you'll be fine.

      • +1

Yeah agreed, you're concentrating a large amount of force onto a small area when you clamp it into one spot. Especially being glass - this would be a risk

    • +2

The clamp is metal so I don’t think it’s wise to use with glass top table.

      • +2

Hi, just so you know, the clamp has rubber pads top and bottom and is fine to use on a glass table. Cheers!

  • Thanks. Great find :)

  • I have an 31 inch monitor https://www.philips.com.au/c-p/BDM3201FD_75/signage-solution… that I haven't got to vesa mount it yet. Will these fit?

    • if it has a vesa mount and weighs between 2 and 6.5kg then yes it should

      • despite being bigger than 27"? Isn't that beyond specification?

Anyway I found one that looks good? Not as flexible but.

          according to https://www.download.p4c.philips.com/files/b/bdm3201fd_75/bd…
It is vesa 100x100 which the mount in OP uses.

          from item linked in OP

@[Deactivated]: Cheers mate for the reassurance. I ordered before you commented LOL like most ozbargainer. Can't pass up a good deal on a vesa mount

            • +1

@ChickenAdobo: I'm tempted to go ozbargainer myself and get one when I cant afford it. LOL

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: Go ahead and click hehe. you rarely see a vesa mount this cheap.

              • @[Deactivated]: If you can afford a screen, then you can afford $30 for a monitor mount.

                • +1

@garetz: Not quite. I bought my monitor last christmas.
I lost my job not long after lol.

    • +1

I use it on my 32" monitor with no problem at all.
      https://www.amazon.com.au/Astivita-Monitor-31-5-Resolution-F…

      • Cheers. Looking forward to mounting it next week.

      • Same size monitor for me and similar specs. I'm assuming those weight specs are with the monitor mount attached, so significantly less with the factory stand removed??!

  • Perfect, I was looking for one of these. Thanks OP

  • I have 2 of these for my 27” monitors, they work great if you have a monitor within those weight specifications.

I tried to use it with my 34” ultra wide (heavier than the above specs) and it sags. Weigh your monitors guys!

I ended up going for an Amazon Basics monitor arm, more expensive but it’s an amazing monitor arm.

    • +1

you dont need to weigh the monitor, all weight specs are available at the manufacturers website.

    • How do you buy Amazon Basics Monitor Arm? I can't find it on amazon.com.au. It is on Amazon.com but it won't deliver to Australia.

  • Only 6.5kg capacity. Can't hold my monitor, sad.

  • Thanks OP!

Would MSY have this and would it be cheaper?

    • +7

Would MSY have this and would it be cheaper?

Why don't you take a look and tell us the result!

  • Can the arm be positioned in such a way that the monitor is actually behind the point where the arm clamps into the table?

Am asking because I have a narrow table and want to use the arm to push the monitor away from where I'm sitting

    • Take a look at the 4th pic on the OP's link. Shows it as you are asking :)

  • Ordered one for my Philips 31.5". It weights 5.2kg without stand and has 100x100 so with hopes will all fit and look great on my new ozbargain omnidesk

  • +1

This is a really good monitor arm, I am using a dual version of it for more than a year now.

  • Anything for my recent 32" msi curved monitor. Specs say it weighs 7.3 kegs! :(

  • +1

I need to mount 2 monitors.
Would i be better off with a dualor 2 singles?

    • +2

Hey mate, looking at the comments from a previous deal for this mount it seems that people are recommending others get two single mounts over one dual.

I recommend 2 of these over the dual version, as I have the dual screen version of this the elbow sticks out. With the single (this item) you have more placement options.

Yeah I second this - I bought the dual and realised You are a bit limited. Bought the single one for another desk and it does seem like it would have been a better option.

      Hope this helps! :)

    • +1

I own two of these and use them as dual. Works well.

  • good price

  • Was after one of these just the other week - ordered one now! Thank you.

  • Back to old price now $39

    • Nope, still at $29.96. It's limited to 1 per account though, so if you've already purchased it'll be showing as full price.

      • i havent bought any. 60% claimed and i cant add to cart. edit: refreshed page and now i can.

  • +2

    Free delivery even without prime.

  • Thanks OP. Got one.

  • I have a 32" that's 6.28kg. Would this still be alright or pushing too close to Max weight limit?

  • Perfect for my desk that I got from dshop which was dodgey as hell and was less deep Then listed.

  • Shopback has 20% cashback … quick put in the order :)

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/501797

  • bought this on black friday for $39 because i didnt think there would be a deal. big oof

  • To anybody that missed out (in Melbourne), when it arrives, if it doesn't take my 32" curved monitor without breaking a sweat, I'd be happy to move it on.

    • +1

I have mine supporting my 32" flat samsung, should be ifne.

      • Fingers crossed part of me feels it may not hold up but time will tell. It definitely sounds like we're on the limit.

        Thanks for the post. 👍

        • Not after the mount but curious how you went with your 32"? Hope it worked :-)

          • @Banonos: Waiting for both in the mail!

  • This deal is back up by popular demand until 11:30pm tonight, just in case you missed out.

  • Well this doesn't fit the Acer Predator XB271HU, due to how the VESA area is recessed on it - the mount's bracket is a few mm too wide.. gonna have to bust out the dremel on the weekend.

    • Got the XB271HUA before and it didn't fit. I thought the product is defective lol. Getting U2419HC soon, guessing it won't fit either :(

      • +1

I just installed it then actually. I got a metal file and took a couple millimetres off both sides of the mount (at the edge of each corner - if you only file off one side of the mount, it could misalign the screwholes, depending on how much you file off), and then got it to fit. It's only $30, so wasn't worried about any damage - not likely to try and return it under warranty.

I suggest you take the monitor off the stand, and lay it flat on your desk. Then use the file to shave off the corners, and test fit it. When it fits, attach the arm to your desk. Screw the top two screws into the monitor's VESA mount, and you can lever the top of the arm bracket onto them, then screw the bottom two screws in.

  • My MSI curved 32" arrived yesterday, monitor arm is due late this week. Fingers crossed it holds up!

  • Did anybody else get their mounts delivered in just the retail packaging with an aus post label stuck on it? Mine's not even taped up!

    • Yes. Taped on the opening only. Previous orders of this was on amazon box.

      • Poor (lack of) effort!

    • Yep, the retail box. Mine had Amazon tape on both sides, but one side wasn't stuck down properly. Didn't bother me, as it's a $30 item. I had a DS918+ delivered in its retail box from one of the sales recently… that did piss me off though!

      • Yeah doesn't bother me too much but seriously I had NO tape… like wtf.

  • I wanted this for two monitors but limited qty to 1.

They have another item for a dual monitor mount at $57.75 before cashback :D

    • create a 2nd account. Lighting deals have free shipping.
