  I have an MFC-6490CW which looks similar.

  Been using with refillable cartridges obtained from Aliexpress and cheap ink without any problems and negligible cost per page.

  Do your own research for this model though.

    Can you pls give me a link to the cartridge you got from aliexpress? I purchased some from Amazon but the chip on them were not compatible
