For those who bought an SVS subwoofer in the recent deal.

SVS Soundpath isolation system goes for $110-$140 locally.
This is one of those products which can be bought from overseas with peace of mind (lack of ACL / warranty).

Well received as seen in reviews on Amazon US.
These Subwoofer isolation feet will benefit your subwoofer acoustically, and also reduce vibrations & rattling of objects in the room.
Another benefit is reducing disturbance to your neighbours.

One review complained of the screw-hole being too large. This was to accomodate different sized screws for SVS’s different sized models.

For a budget solution; you could do what I would to and have a look at the Bunnings “Doorstop” section, and find a combination of bits & bobs to achieve a similar solution.
e.g. rubber doorstop + Metal washer / casing + correct sized screws.
(In my experience this can take a bit of trial & error, and cost more than you think, petrol costs for the trips and 4x the parts it can end up costing around $40-$50)

    • EVA Foam mats from bunnings also work really well.

These ones from Bunnings can be useful anti-vibration pads

Tempting, I've just been looking at the Auralex SubDude ( https://www.amazon.com.au/Auralex-Acoustics-SubDude-HT-Subwo… ) - would welcome any suggestions which is better

I used to have one. Can’t recommend it highly enough. I was skeptical at first but totally converted once I’d watch a movie with my BK Elec sub sitting on one. Night and day difference.

Edit. The one I actually had is this:

Looks to be a taller platform so checks reviews first.

I used to buy in to this snake oil. I would spend hundreds on pure silver speaker wire and anti static CD wipes. Sound isolation spikes or bumpers aren't snake oil but $95 for them is. The bunnings alternatives will work just as well.

  • I use egg cartons doubled up and I can feel the difference without them. I have SVS SB2000

    • I can't quite envision the egg cartons. Do you mean you are using them as feet for the woofer? Mind taking a pic?

Yes feet for the subwoofer! 2 in the middle quite nicely supports it and can’t be seen unless you are sitting on the floor or really bend down. Works well. I have floor boards

        • I like your DIY spirit. Hey, if it works, run with it right? May i suggest painting the carton black to make it more invisible.

I got halved, old squash balls under my woofer to lift is from the floor for isolation. Similar idea. Save the $90 for other audio equipment.

I ended up just buying a these
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B075KHNK62/

likewise i couldnt see where the $100 went for the SVS ones

    • Did it isolate your sub? Is the difference night and day or not so much?

  • Considering in buying this without the subwoofer first. Call me crazy LOL

  • Mmm donuts.
