Humble Indie Bundle #3 - Pay What You Want

1180

The Humble Indie Bundle #3

Pay what you want. If you bought these five games separately, it would cost around $50, but we're letting you set the price!

All of the games work great on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

You can support charity. Choose exactly how your purchase is divided: Between the developers, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, or the Child's Play Charity. Also, if you like this deal, a tip to the Humble Bundle itself would be much appreciated!

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster MOD EDIT .. Rest NOT necessary.

    Nice

All the games are steam registerable

    • -4

The last one didn't receive any steam key.

      • I think I may have mixed up with another one which is not Humble.

Anyone remember what was that? That is a top down shooter games.

Found it I mean the The Humble Frozenbyte Bundle, I didn't receive any steam keys.

        • As suggested, check your emails again. Codes come through fast & work first-shot. These deals are insane value, and such a humble offer (as the name suggests).

      • +1

        This is FALSE.

All bundles have Steam codes. For the second one, it came later. Check your email again, follow the link and claim your Steam code.

  • +3

Awesome, being paying for the bundle since the first one came.

    • +4

      Same :)

Besides, this is worth it for VVVVVV alone. Fantastic game, plus it now comes with a level editor and ten homemade games. Can't wait to play those :D

  • the actual games included wouldn't hurt :P

yes! finally another humble bundle :D

  • +2

Wow, this is a really awesome website, like how you can choose how much money goes to the developers/ charity! Definately get this tonight.

  • +8

So this is what linux people do with their money that they saved from not buying an OS…
    Average Linux payment $10.36
    Average Mac payment $5.58
    Average Windows payment $4.36

    • +12

They pay more just coz they think its so awesome someone bothered making a game for them ;)

      • Gotta provide positive reinforcement. :) The more people see that there's money in them thar penguin inhabited hills the more likely they are to come up with more goods to get. :) The ball has to start rolling someplace.

      • we Windows-users spend much more money and time (i.e. money) fixing our stuff, so it's fair trade :P

    • +1

Is this worth more than a dollar?

      • -6

Yeah probably.. havent downloaded the games yet have to wait till my dl limit resets

        • I personally didn't pay too much for mine, I'll never play them anyway I just got them to get closer to 400 games on steam, and to help support the developers. Though with that being said I bought a few extra copies for friends who wouldn't have bought it at all just to help boost their steam games list, so all up I spent a bit just to build up some steam game lists. I should probably start actually playing the games i bought a long time ago.

        • How does having many games on steam help?

        • Why are people negging?

        • -1

Wow i neg'd for having too many games on steam, not cool. I think it's funny how people neg'd me for (I'm assuming) saying I didn't pay too much for the bundle, when people don't even know how much I think not much is. I can pretty much guarantee that it was more than what most people paid in this thread.

  • I have to stop buying the steam indie packs/indie games on sale.. coz when the humble bundle comes up I'm like "meh".

Only thing left in the pack of interest to me is Hammer fight. That looks really cool…

  • +13

Dig deep everybody! Remember this is also for charity so please don't be a cheapskate (yes I know I'm on Ozbargain but we're also a good group of ppl).

    • +2

people who really care about charity make pretax donations not in exchange for goods. that way they can donate more.

      • People who really care & know about charity don't use charities. That way, they can donate the ENTIRE amount. Not wasted in forced-religion & corrupt organisations.

    • Oh the irony. We are a good group of people. : )

  • +1

    Coool.

  • +1

Cool! Bought 2 sets for me and a friend :D

  • +10

lol, respect to linux users for donating the most :)

    • -5

Smells like desperation. When you're in a desert and someone offers you a glass of water, you'll volunteer to pay any price.

In other words, the price the Linux people are paying is not a reflection on their amazingly generous nature but on their gratitude that someone is making the effort to produce games for their platform, they don't deserve your respect, they deserve your pity.

  • +1

I bought VVVVVV a few months back for $5 and I don't regret it at all because it's utterly brilliant.

  • +1

    I love these humble bundles.

  • +3

While I'm not interested in any of these games (except VVVVVV) I still bought it because it's going to a good cause.

  • srsly.. that is poor.. cheap scapes man. if you want the games.. dont be cheap.. at last donate.. 10 bucks..

    • srsly.. that is poor.. cheap scapes man. if you want the games.. dont be cheap.. at last donate.. 100 bucks..

    • +10

The only thing poor here is your English.

  • bugga couldn't get to the download page
    so now I am stuffed

  • -2

My god, VVVVVV is just so bad I couldn't believe it. Don't know why it gets praise at all. Worse than most flash games which are free. The controls are a absolute joke.

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/544332 - See this? A platforming game (in flash no less) with consistent controls.

    • -2

Yeah it is definitely over hyped. There is some fun to be had from it, but not the amount others seem to claim. Crayon Physics and Cogs are great time killers though.

    • I only played one level but what's wrong with the controls. All I saw was left right and action key to reverse gravity?

    • +3

      Left. Right. Reverse gravity.

Three buttons. The controls are not at all bad.

And VVVVVV is a Flash game.

      • +2

VVVVVV used to be a flash game. An updated version was released to coincide with the Humble Bundle #3, and it has been rewritten in C++, which is why it was able to be (easily) ported to Linux and Mac.

v2.0 also includes a level editor, and ten new homemade levels :D

But yeah, the controls are great.

  • notch maker of minecraft is leading in donations atm, good on him i say, he coulda payed ALOT more but still, good on him for putting that much

    • That was actually an accident, his initial donation was $2048, and it didn't go through immediately, so he tried again with $2000 which went through immediately, then the initial one made it up there too. (His name was up there twice.)

So they merged it for him.

  • +5

Also remember guys, donations are in USD, so my 7.77 donation only cost me 7.21 XD

  • New game added to the Humble Bundle! Steel Storm now comes on the Humble Bundle 3 for free! :D. Makes it even better of a deal, 6 games for as much you as want to pay. And Steel Storm is automatically on your all games list on Steam, not sure about Desura.

  • Paid 20ish for minecraft for my nephew a week ago :(
Don't know why he want it so badly

  • Time for an update!
I'm sure we'll all getting the same emails, letting us know… This bundle now includes 5 titles from the previous bundle!!

Check their main page now, and you'll see:
"Bundle in a Bundle! Pay more than the average of $5.03, and you'll receive all of the games in Humble Indie Bundle #2 as well!"

If you've already paid, then you get auto-upgrade.

    11 Games!!

    • Would that be considered a new deal? was just gonna post in the forums.

  • Awesome dealio! So glad we got bundle #2 now, I wanted braid :D
