Doesn't popup on the Shopback Cashback Buddy extension when you go to ebay.com.au
Shopback activated in myebay website page and the buddy lit up green.
Went to pay and the greenlight wasnt presenn in the check-out, but was still present if you want back to myEbay.
Made the $500 purchase, no shopback confirmation yet.

I don't think it's shopbacks policy, i think it's ebays, to drive more attention to their mobile app (they probably think that's the future of their crumbling company)
Even though many have mass-hate for eBay/paypal, very few have the morality to switch.
Besides, eBay is still a great place to shop. (It's only a nightmare for sellers :D)
Probably reduces fraud (it's harder to fake accounts on mobile than open standards browsers out of their control), may allow more data collection, not sure ("may" = will if you read the contract you agree to).
It also allows eBay to potentially contact when they want (via notifications and SMS) and obviously with eBay in your pocket maybe you'll use eBay more ie. yousers lose more money than leaving it in the browser.
I would have waited a few hours before paying if I had known this was coming.

You sure that the case? First tip to ensure Cashback for eBay is:
Make sure that you have downloaded the eBay Australia Mobile app and are logged in to your eBay Australia mobile app account before you click through from ShopBack
Click on the link in the OP and you can see there is now an activate button. If you click on that, it load eBay in the browser.
You're right, looks like they also removed [APP ONLY] from the cashback rate too.

With the removal of coupons, this should be the new permanent rate for eBay IMO. Great for small spends - prices are too inflated without a coupon on eBay.
I found Cash reward customer service to be better. Shopback response is way too generic. If Cashreward and shopback offers the same amount of cashback, I always go for cashreward
CR has always taken longer for me. SB has proper app tracking for ebay, groupon, agoda etc. Major plus cause they often have the best prices (agoda anyways)

Ppl seems to be unhappy about not able to use coupon code but I believe this is still a good deal to buy from China as their store doesn't get coupon code. I hate shopback tracking system and don't trust them but it is good deal compare to cashrewards.
What about eBay gift card codes?
I'm back to Qantas FFP $1 = 1 pt . With out codes Shopback useless for me except for maybe a 3% code that I rarely use lol on special 5% days .
Qantas Points will not be earned on the purchase of a gift card; where a gift card or voucher is used as a payment method (whether for full or part payment); or where a coupon or discount code is used (unless that coupon or discount code is valid and listed on Qantas Shopping).
U can use listed coupon on Qantas from the look of it, where this explicitly said no coupon at all. So if u use coupon, may as well use Qantas
5% on non code items is better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick! Especially when you pay with gift cards purchased through Aus post at 5% off.

The only reason why this deal keeps coming back is because we can't use any coupon codes. At most this is only 5%. Not saying it's a bad deal though, it is only useful for those who usually get no discounts due to their 'eligible items'

I just logged into my Shopback account and ALL my transactions have disappeared! Cashback Overview says that there are no transactions tracked WTH??? I've sent an email out to helpdesk. Has anyone else encounter this?

There are some upgrades happening at the moment and as such, the eBay app will not open for Android devices for the time being.
You have been really good about posting deals and answering all our queries with regard to Shopback. Thank you!. However, Shopback's sys admin really need to step up and ensure speed, stability and accuracy in their tracking and transactions record keeping.

Somehow when the 5% cashback is on, the ShopBack app isn't able to launch the eBay app (Android)
When the regular 1% cashback, eBay app is launching normally.

Shopback tracked my purchase but instead of tracking all three item purchased in one transaction they only tracked one of three I bought 😣😣😣 not sure when I will be able to get 5% cashback…are they only tracking 1% and then add remaining 5% in future?
