Depending on the size of the couch and rug you will be better off hiring a carpet cleaner with upholstery wand from Bunnings.
Are the seats real leather or just leather look (which car?). If real leather then use proper leather treatment products. If fake just wipe them over with a damp rag and some APC if you want.
This is a machine which pumps out steam. For fabric couch, rug, carpet (i.e woven materials) an extractor is better.
Both can be better as the steam can loosen surface grime and relax fabric fibres for more thorough water extraction. The point still stands though that a steam cleaner by itself isn't going to get the job done.
If you planned to use it for other jobs as well like tiles, bathrooms, windows etc then it's a decent choice
OP, what type of floor and size will you be cleaning with this?
Anyone know if this is a good product for a large tiled floor area the wife's been asking for one for a while just don't want to get the wrong one
They are okay but this one being a drag-around unit might be challenging in use. A stick-style might be easier to wrangle. Steam mops are good for routine cleaning but I would vacuum first as the mop gets messy pushing dust and hair around if you still have it all on the floor.
Note that steam mops won't do anything for grout - just the face of the tile only. You might get a similar result with a lot less cost and ongoing effort by using a microfibre mop with hot water. Then doing a clean of your grout every couple of years or so with a grout brush and cleaning solution.
Really appreciate the feedback, we mostly need it for grout so I will use your suggestions thankyou
Has anyone got any experience with this brand and longevity?
I had McCulloch 2 stroke whipper snipper 20 years ago and it was very good, around 15 years ago it was owned by Electrolux. I haven't heard of this brand in the last few years… Maybe some cheaper company has purchased the brand name?
Sounds about right, very common nowadays.
Wonder how this compares to a Karcher SC3/4…
The parent company in now Husqvarna I believe.
Will this work on fabric couches or leather car seats or rugs?
