You would have been better off grabbing one of those at $299 and paying $57 to get a 500gig drive from any computer store and getting a PS3 with 500gig for $356….ps3 drive is user replaceable and doesn't void the warranty

still no reason to give a negative, many people don't want or know how to upgrade the HD. Find a better deal for a PS3 320GB model including shipping costs and then give a negative.
A fellow member asked a question, I answered it and he is happy with the information. Most "bargains" on this site are one offs and never repeated hence the Bargain so if that is your thinking you might want to neg all posts on this site.

the newer models have smaller 35nm chips rather than 45. so it saves a bit of heat/power etc. not just the hard drive being bigger.

Seemingly average price
I picked up the BigW a coupla weeks back with 180g with Move for $399 and already down to 11gigs spare! So go for the 320g and of course fw 3.55 or less.
What do you put in it? The only reason I have a 500GB HDD in mine is because I wanted a 7200rpm drive and that was the smallest my local store had. Before I swapped out the drives I was using 30GBish after I swapped the drive out and restored it says I'm now using 80GB though… weird.
games and games! I think its all the install data too. Also using an ext 320gb fat32 drive too.

Pretty much an everyday price. Nobody is selling a PS3 by itself for more than $500
I would buy the PS3 160G + move for 399 from Big W and another 50 dollars for 500G HDD from either ebay or computer retailer. Unless you want to store movie, or 160 G is more than enough.
I think it's not available now. It has gone back to normal $458 price. & that's just a 160GB console. not a bundle. The only option remained is with www.game.com.au ;-)
