Because they often match it after seeing a receipt. Not sure if they type the number in to check, but I've had this experience.

Whatever you'd use a tiny solar for I guess. I would go with an outdoor light, or a very power hungry calculator.
So there won't be any problems in terms of connecting this panel to whatever we want to use it for? does it have a usb cable for connection?
just got one. it has their 'waterproof' dc sort of jack, not microusb though it does say that on the site. 5.2v but only makes 420mA.
@chefdns: So its a 2.5w panel. Well I guess the fact that its 5v and not 12v makes it a bit more useful for most projects

Wonder if you can mod these for teh doorbell.. As reading online the Doorbell one does not work as most doorbells not in direct sunilght

I purchased a generic 5v panel and wired it into my ring video doorbell to the screw terminals. Will charge my phone in the same sunlight position, but ring doorbell doesn't even register. Tried both polarities,sufficient reading on a multimeter
You will need resistor between the two terminals. I believe the value is mentioned in the manual. Then ring dbell should detect.
Is this only in Vic? The two nearest stores to me, Forster and Taree in NSW don't stock these products. ☹

Since having the Ring DoorBell v1 for 2 years, been looking into getting a Ring Spotlight Cam Battery before but finding that they are so expensive (even without the solar panel), its over $300 in most places
Looking into alternatives and eventually bought the Reolink Argus 2 with solar panel
Its half the price compare to Ring cam ($170 shipped from Australia via Aliexpress)
It can integrate to Google Assistant / Google Home so I can watch live cam from my Google Nest Hub
