Description

American Gangster:

Academy Award winners Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe team with director Ridley Scott (Gladiator) in this powerful, epic story. Armed with ruthless, streetwise tactics and a strict sense of honour, crime boss Frank Lucas (Washington) rules Harlem's chaotic drug underworld. When outcast cop Richie Roberts (Crowe) sets out to bring down Lucas's multimillion-dollar empire, it plunges both men into a legendary confrontation.

Green Zone:

Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) re-team for their latest electrifying thriller in Green Zone, a film set in the chaotic early days of the Iraqi War when no one could be trusted and every decision could detonate unforeseen consequences.

Inglourious Basterds:

In German-occupied France, Shosanna Dreyfus witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa. Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema. Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as “The Basterds,” Raine’s squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own…

Kick Ass:

The life of Dave Lizewski is one of scarce problems; his day to day actions rarely stray from reading the comic books that he loves oh so much. Dave has a nice life and is content with it until the day he decides to change, he decides to make a difference with his life, he decides to become a Superhero!

Dave’s life suddenly changes when he walks out of his house clad with superhero mask and a decorative baseball bat, the only problem with Dave being a superhero… he has no powers. But like all good comic book readers, this doesn’t matter to Dave; his dream will not be swayed just because he lacks the skills of your everyday superhero.

The Kingdom:

Oscar winners Jamie Foxx (Collateral) and Chris Cooper (Jarhead) team up with Jennifer Garner (Daredevil) and Jason Bateman (Smokin’ Aces) to ignite the screen in this high-intensity action thriller.
A team of elite FBI agents sent to Saudi Arabia to solve a brutal mass murder find themselves in a race against time to find a killer before he strikes again.

Out of their element, under heavy fire and trusting no-one, the team must join forces with their Saudi counterparts. As these unlikely allies begin to unlock the secrets of the crime, the team is led into a heart-stopping, do-or-die confrontation.

Public Enemies:

From visionary director Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral) comes the film inspired by one of the country’s most captivating and infamous outlaws – John Dillinger.

Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean series) stars as the charismatic and elusive bank robber marked by the FBI as America’s “Public Enemy Number One.” Academy Award® winner* Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) plays Billie Frechette, the only woman capable of capturing his heart. Hunted relentlessly by top FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale, The Dark Knight), Dillinger engages in an escalating game of cat and mouse that culminates in an explosive legendary showdown.

Robin Hood:

Academy Award winner Russell Crowe reunites with legendary Gladiator director Ridley Scott for epic action adventure in Robin Hood.

Discover the untold story of the man behind the legend as Robin, a heroic warrior, turns outlaw when he assembles a band of skilled marauders to confront injustice and lead an uprising against a weak and corrupt English King.

The Ultimate Bourne Collection:

The explosive action trilogy that takes you to the edge of your seat and leaves you breathless for more!

Matt Damon is trained assassin Jason Bourne, a single man on a pursuit to uncover the deadly covert conspiracy that stole his identity, robbed him of the love of his life and sent a legion of highly trained killers to eliminate him.

See the entire Bourne trilogy unfold with heart-stopping action, death-defying stunts and incredible white-knuckle excitement.

Back To The Future Trilogy:

Why there is no Australia in the delivery country list? How do you guys fill up the address then?

    • use IE

    • +3

Some of us have used the expected savings to save up and move to the UK and use our new house address as a delivery address.

      Might help.

  • I just ordered one myself but to be honest I dont think they going to honour it

  • I just ordered through sendit.com (another Hut Group site I think) for around 15 quid delivered, as well as through this deal on Zaavi. Fingers crossed.

  • I should have read all the comments before using my CC.. Oh well Visa chargebacks here I come…

Great deal if it goes through..

  • Put 2 orders in.

Now time to buy a TV. Damn you OzBargain.

  • It's €13.45 how did you get it for €10.85?

Ahh nevermind, I was on the Euro site.

  • I can unserstand if Zavvi have made a typo but thehutt has the exact same offer. What are the chances of having two websites with the same mistake !

  • Well I've ordered this from thehut.com Used them before with no problems.

  • I hope they have ALOT of these sets LOL. Over 3500 clicks and counting.

  • Looks like somebody put the decimal point in the wrong place but, hey, I'm not complaining. I already have a couple of those and the only one I really want is Back to the Future, but $17's pretty good for BttF anyway. I have to imagine there'll be a lot of Green Zones and Kingdoms turning up on eBay pretty soon.

  • one of the best deals ever to grace this site!

  • +2

Ordered with Paypal, here's hoping they honour it.

But for that price, I'm doubting they will.

  • Don't get all excited people. It is clearly a misprint and your funds will be refunded shortly. No company could ever possibly make any profit on a deal like this.

    • there's no refund to be had, nothing is charged at the moment,

i bet its an intentional price error to create traffic for 24 hours

only a selected few will be honored the price and the rest all rejected to show the deal is legit.

    • -4

No.not just about profit.this is a very good marketing.they did it from time to time.i got 24 season 1-8 complete boxset for 40 pounds a month a go from amazon uk that gone up to 221 pounds now.so we r not dreaming and stop talking about misprint or blablabla.this is a deal of 2011.

  • -2

MVCFIVE50 gives you £5 off any order over £50…buy 5 of them for £49.25!!!

    • -1

      use internet explorer

      • +1

register first, then add the item to your cart and then check out…
If you register whilst trying to check out, only EU countries come up as selectable options.

  • +14

Can someone please go back to the future to see if they will honour this deal?

    • lol

  • +2

This post would only be a couple of comments long if everyone didn't post saying the same thing (multiple "gonna get cancelled", "how do you ship to Australia", "I ordered it"). Just saying.

    • +9

and also if people didnt make posts like the one you just made

      • And the one you and I just made, lol :P

        • this could go on forever but i think now i am guilty as i have made 2=D

        • and me!

        • +1

/me misses the days when OzB had no comment depth limit. :(

      • LOL I'm help you guys out

      • 1) This was the first comment referring to "me too" posters.
        2) If there weren't so many comments being repeated, my post wouldn't exist.

I'm pointing it out as there is a bit of useful information on the 2nd and 3rd page, but it's harder to find when it's being buried by duplicate comments.

        • Absolutely agree. We should all stop posting these comments that add nothing new.

          ;)

    • +2

Atleast jv isn't logged in quoting people though tomsco lol

      • +4

jv would think this deal is too expensive. Because he could get them from oovie for free.

        • oovie don't have/rent Blu-Ray's though ;)

        • +5

Don't ruin my lame joke with small technicalities dude! :D

  • sdhl, and the one you just made ;)

  • Probably supposed to be priced at £108.50…. but we'll see I guess!

  • +1

    lol I ordered and I don't even own a blu-ray player

    • +1

give it a home among the gumtree

  • For those having issues with not being able to find Australia - if you're using Chrome you can edit the form.. Select 'Austria' for example, right click and select inspect element. Then just change the value to be 'AU' and the name to be 'Australia'. Worked for me!! ;)

  • We have received your order. Your order number is: #########

You will be sent an email shortly confirming your full order details. Please keep this email for future reference.

Please note: Your card will not be charged until your order is dispatched.

They don't charge till they ship it out anyways, so it's worth a shot. :)

    • Likewise for the notification from paypal:

You submitted an order in the amount of 10.85 GBP to Zavvi.com.
Thanks for using PayPal. Please note that this is not a charge. Your account will be charged when the merchant processes your payment. You may receive multiple emails as the merchant processes your order.

  • +1

I ordered a set but the fact that there seems to be no real stock limits also makes me think that this might be an error. They surely can't honour hundreds or thousands of these orders. As others have said, I think this is probably a mistake and there is a low likelihood that our orders will be honoured. All the same, I definitely think it is worth giving this a go on the off chance that this is a "real" deal.

    • lets hope not! how long will it be before we find out whether they will actually send us the set?

    • I thought the Staples deal/s were ridic and would never go through so I will hold out small hope until the moment I get the email from Zavvi telling me I am a silly dreamer and that they would never sell a huge bunch of Blu Rays for a tenner.

  • +1

    ordered, waiting for disappointment :(

  • Thanks very much OP. Now who can tell me which ones of these movies are not worth watching at all so I can give them to my best friend as a birthday gift :)?

    • +3

      IMO: Green Zone. YAWN-fest.

    • +3

feel sad for your BEST friend :(

      • Me too : )

    • +1

That's the thing man - they are all good movies.

    • +2

For me there are four definite keepers:

      Kick Ass
      Gladiator
      Bourne Trilogy
      Back To The Future

All the rest are maybe's. But I straight up hated Inglorious Basterds and sold it on eBay the same day I bought and watched it. I only also watched about 20 minutes of both Green Zone and Robin Hood so that was my verdict on those.

My favourite movie this year ie. can repeat watch, and never bore of, has been Megamind, believe it or not.

      • Because you can always judge a film within 20 minutes.

Stick to TV sitcoms. (sheesh, Gen Y these days….)

        • +2

I'd say he saved himself about almost three hours of his life my leaving them there. Life's too short to watch crap films.

        • +1

I'm Gen X (yes, showing my age) and if I don't like a film within 20 minutes it's dead to me. I learned that lesson young - this policy began after sitting through Battlefield Earth, yes, at the cinema. I want that two hours back SO BAD.

    • +1

Kick Ass, Inglorious Basterds and Back to the future are the good ones.

Green zone is the one to give away!

  • i think they just changed their price from £10.85 to £13.45 at Zavvi???
Ordered mine through the hut at £10.85 anyway… hopefully they honour the deal… fingers crossed

    • Nope, that's the Euro price. €13.45

      • opppsss… sorry… my bad… :P

    • It's £13.45 on the Euro Zavvi, and £10.85 on the British Zavvi.

      Ninja'd

  • Giving this a shot in the off chance they'll pull through with the goods!
    Thanks OP

  • Jeez I still cannot setup an account with Australia as the address at either store - zavvi.com or thehut.com

Suffering for not shopping there sooner…

    • Try a different browser. Works fine for me in FF4. Most people are saying IE9 is the way to go.

  • Honestly, even at double (or triple) the price I would have snapped this up without a second thought… Here's hoping if it does turn out to be a pricing error (which is extremely likely) they offer it at a crazy low price!

  • Simple mathematics: 4% off 284 pounds to about 11 pounds, so it SHOULD go through: http://www.thehut.com/blu-ray/ultimate-action-blu-ray-bundle…. If it were meant to read 108 pounds, the saving % posted on the site would be different e.g. 56% off. So there's no need to get all 'end of the world guys' :)

    • +6

Isn't it likely that the percentage savings is done by computer automatically?

      • I haven't had it happen with Zaavi, but on another site, they had the % saved different to the price, and that order got cancelled.

      • I imagine it would be…its the sort of site where they list it everywhere. No way would you manulayy want to list it every time…far easier to put in an initial RRP and then your price and never have to think about it.

        • Didn't Dick Smith have a similar thing at one stage? Advertised as 40% off, then the price was wrong? They then had to correct that by putting up signs in their stores.

  • -5

If it's honoured, I'm looking forward to receiving 56 blu ray movies in the mail. If it's not honoured I'm looking forward to some "we're sorry" coupons.

    • Neg? I ordered two from TheHut and two from Zavvi in the hope I would get at least one for myself. If I get any more than that (if at all) that leaves me set for Christmas and birthday presents this year. Sorry to all you high and mighty whiners.

      • No idea why you're getting negs…. and LOL at getting the 56 blu-rays in the mail

  • "Actor: Denzel Washington, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Aaron Johnson, Jamie Foxx, Johnny Depp, Russell Crowe, Michael J. Fox
    Director: Ridley Scott"

    Whoa

    • +7

      No, that's Keanu Reeves.

  • +11

    Can someone help me.
I'm using Firefox, and in the country drop down, it says "You idiot. Read the earlier posts" where it should say Australia.

Screw reading earlier posts. I'll switch to IE instead.

  • +2

Speaking of offers, where's a decent shop to get a Blu-Ray player that can play these?

    • Any shop that used to sell a DVD player (e.g. DSE, JB's). Have you tried to buy a basic DVD player these days. It's near impossible.

Blu-ray is the new digital black.

    • Any Australian blu-ray player (including the PS3) will play these, you don't need a special region-free one.
Uk and Australia are both Region B for blu-rays.

    • I plan to buy external bluray drive from MSY for $59 coz I'm building a HTPC at the moment

      http://www.msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=7056

Does anyone has this? Is it a good unit?

  • well i got mine, haven't had any problem with the zavvi guys before and if u spend over £50 can use this code (i did) for a further £5 off: MVCFIVE50

  • -2

I'm waiting for on the LulzSec twitter feed to update with details of pwned credit card numbers from greedy OzBargainers
