  • whats the price on the note 9's now?

They stopped selling it on the portal.

  • would you know which health care companies are included?

Same price for students too at the education store

  • This double-tier pricing will only frustrate those who are considering buying a Samsung phone. I can also foresee quite a few AKGs going on eBay for sale too.

  • What's the difference between Galaxy Note10+ & Galaxy Note10+ 5G ?
Is it just the 5G option or anything else?

    • Double the storage. Single SIM only.

Might be more RAM too, not sure.

If you plan to keep the phone more than 2 years, having 5G might be better long term. By then it will have rolled out to more places and the $15 a month premium for 5G network might be waived by then.

  • The 5g 512gb option for note 10 plus is 1699 for government employees. Obviousky different discounts depending on which place you work.

    • Other EPPs have it also.

  • Note 10 is priced well. But the lack of an SD card slot kills it for me.

Lack of headphone jack is painful across the board. And there is also the fact you'll probably have to replace it in 2-3 years when the battery goes.

Might stick with my Note 4 for now until it eventually dies.

    • Is 500gb storage not good enough?
      Thanks for your comment.

I can only see 256 for the Note 10 (Plus is 512, but has an SD slot as well) on the Education store.

More around the risk of losing data if it's stuck on the device. And the capability of swapping cards if required while remote (photo/video).

I guess the Note 9 will have to be the phone I look for to get me through the next five years.

        • Use cloud as backup.

Don't buy Note 10. Buy 10+ for the non-gimped version.

I guess the Note 9 will have to be the phone I look for to get me through the next five years.

This is ambitious. Do you normally get the battery replaced at some point if you keep a phone 5 years?

          • @lostn: I've had my current Note 4 for five years now. Second battery.

My other pain point is difficulty replacing the battery.

Cloud isn't really a solution to the problem, the main time I worry about storage is when travelling (my wife does a lot of work in Africa so we are often without decent capacity for mobile data), which is when cloud really doesn't make sense. I also like the ability to easily get my data even if the phone is dead.

It's just sad to see Samsung taking shortcuts and following suit on all the painful anti-consumer practices they've been criticizing others for years on now.

            • @Abaddon: Note 4 lets you replace the battery yourself. You can't do that anymore. And it will be at least $100.

The cloud is a backup if your phone dies or gets stolen. You can still recover your data.
