  • Oh my…
Yesterday I bought AX11000 from Harvey Norman and paid $749

    • +1

Cancel your order maybe? Or possible return? :)

If you can't, you should still be eligible for the $100 cashback

      • -1

Actually I don't want to return this and buy again. I don't wanna spend my time cause of $100
        Anyway this is pretty good.
If it was not good, maybe I will. But it's good

        • Mate you are guaranteed the $100 with your original purchase just by providing your details here: http://www.asuspromotion.net/au/wlan-cashback/

IF you return and rebuy you can save another $149.80 on top of that.

          • @D S N: I already applied for cashback but there's no response to my details such as email and phone number, so I don't know it has been applied or not… I hope it does.
Anyway I don't wanna spend my time to get another router… I'm going to moving hoose for next week. Bit hard to order something from the online even any other products.

            • @Asgard: Fair enough. The original post about the cash back confirms that Asus seem to take a while to respond

    • Return it. But another question is this much better than those mesh systems?

      • Mate a bit too lazy to go into all the detail, but I think Mesh v standard router depends on your needs and the size of your dwelling, etc. A google of mesh v standard router will give you all the detail.

This router does support Asus interpretation of mesh wifi though - https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/asus-rog-rapture-gt-ax…

    Wow.
I'd be afraid of that thing running on it's legs /antennas and attacking me

  • +2

    That thing looks diabolical.

    • Designed by Dr Evil.

    • Apologies for the neg, think I clicked the wrong button and now I can't remove it :|

      • Click "Votes" below the comment and In between the red square and your name, there should be a red circle inside with a white line in the middle. Click that and it should revoke the neg

        • Unfortunately - "Votes older than 1 hour cannot be revoked"

          • @D S N: No worries, Ozbargain is not designed very well for phones. I keep accidentally clicking the 'I am associated' button when I post a comment. Haha.

  • +3

Not enough antennas. I wait untill they have 60 of them

    • Shouldn't that be 64? 60 just doesn't work in Base2 notation…

  • +2

Jesus! Will this thing crawl? My wife will scream when she see this thing.

    • HAHAHAHAHAHA

    • +1

Mount it onto the wall lmao

    • +2

If your Wi-Fi signal strength drops it flips upside down and runs toward you, but only at night when you're sleeping!

  • +3

    Design team's April fools joke

  • +1

Cheaper at Harvey Norman. Available for $567.

  • This thing looks like Gus’ tarantula

  • +2

If you have purchased this from Binglee yesterday or today, call or chat with eBay customer service for a 'price difference + 5%' voucher.

    eBay's link: https://pages.ebay.com.au/buy/Best_Price_Guarantee/

    Harvey Norman's link: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/asus-rog-rapture-gt-ax11000-…

Ultimately, this brings down the price to approx $440 after ASUS cashback:

    $599.20 - $32.20(price difference) - $28.35(5% Harvey Norman's price) - $100 (ASUS Cashback) = $438.65

    • Genius!

    • do you get this voucher before buying it through Bing Lee?
or is this voucher only for those that already bought it and want to refer to Harvey Norman's price?

      • never mind.
i just read the FAQ and it answered my queries :-)

    • did you try this "Best Price Guarantee" claim with eBay ?

I just bit the bullet & bought this wireless router but used a eBay 'gift-card' to pay for it too :-)

However, when talking to eBay Help via chat, they are declining the "Best Price Guarantee" because the payment method was
      using a 'gift-card' and a voucher [PLEE20].

It seems "Best Price Guarantee" is only only eligible if the item was paid via PayPal, credit card or bank transfer.

      • I was able to claim the "Best Price Guarantee" offer. I did, however, pay with a credit card through PayPal.

  • Picking this up today from HN. Great price for a top of the line router. The netgear equivalent is more than 700.

  • Does anybody know if Bing Lee will price match or beat HN?

Might pop in there tomorrow as Harvey Norman is nearly half an hour away

    • +1

They should…theres a lot of profit in these routers now. I think the 550+ (450 with 100 cashback from Asus) is actually the price it should be, not the stupid 700+ stores want to charge.

  • Two 'negatives' of this GT-AX11000 router is:
    - is that it does not run the Merlin firmware.
The Merlin firmware does not run on any "GT-" series routers (e.g. GT-AC5300 )
    - Only 4 x Ethernet ports (whereas GT-AX88U had 8 x Ethernet ports, but only double-band and this AX-11000 is triple band)

    • Good points. I've been running the AX11000 since yesterday and rock solid so far, better reach than the Synology AC2600 I had recently. I needed triple band.

      • I just purchased the AX-11000 too :-)
and this will be an upgrade from my AC5300 (which runs Merlin's firmware).

I'll go pick it up tomorrow, from my local Bing Lee, and see how it goes :-)

If your laptop supports upgrading WiFi Modules, you can test the 802.11ax speeds with this module

        Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 Module – Dual Band, 2x2 Wi-Fi 6/11AX, Bluetooth 5.0, M.2/NGFF (Gig+) | US$ 35

        • good tip! i have 1550 currently which is already way overkill for my needs. Really got this router for the phones and oculus quest.

  • i just picked up the GT-AX11000 router today and enjoying its LAN/WiFi services. so far, so good :-D

this was only because, the RT-AX88U was "out of stock" on eBay.AU, even though
i went to a Bing Lee last Friday 26/7, and i saw a boxed RT-AX88U, sitting on the shelf.
this was before this router was "out of stock".

then, the listing was completely removed from eBay.AU, the same day, but the stock still remained on the shelf.
( the GT-AX11000 router was still listed on eBay.AU, for the "PLEE20" code )

today (Monday 29/7), i saw the same boxed RT-AX88U sitting on the shelf,
and also today, the RT-AX88U is still not listed on eBay.AU
