WorkZone DY160121 Ladder Stability Sensor $19.99 (Was $39.99) @ ALDI (Selected Stores)

20

Half price clearance on this nifty safety device.

Looks like Aldi over estimated sales as there seems to be plenty of stock left, at least in the stores I checked:

  • 15 units at Morley, WA (16:45 Sun 7 July)
  • 24 units at Mirrabooka, WA (17:00 Sun 7 July)
  • 8 units at Belmont, WA (11:15 Mon 8 July)
  • 7 units at Midland, WA (18:15 Wed 28 Aug)

I suspect this clearance price might be available at numerous stores across Australia.

EDIT - Other stores with stock:

makes a change from their usual business model

from inviting pensioners to stand in long queues to encouraging them to climb ladders

      • Queues may be longer but checkout is much faster in Aldi in my experience. Pensioners probably don't mind anyway because Aldi's prices are usually better, and they have both time and patience.

They are timed on everything apparently. Longer than a certain number of seconds between scans and you're outta there

Was thinking one of these could be handy walking home from the pub.

Is this the one that beeps at you AS you fall to your death and then make a continuous "flat line" beep (over tilted) when you're laying dead on the floor?

    • +2

The absence of any responses would indicate no-one is sure.

Can you give it a test run, and report back (as best you can).

    • Yup, that's the one… even more hilarious is the setup process… it needs to be tilted 'just so' before the bugger lets you 'arm' the beeper of imminent death…

Thanks, that's Molly Meldrums Christmas present sorted.

      Too soon

  • I guess you could tie a bell to your ladder to do the same thing.

While I was waiting for treatment in the hospital ER a nurse told me that on weekends it's men over 50 falling off ladders and children cutting feet with ride on mowers that fill the spaces.

Wondering which category you fit in:)
      Hope it was not serious
      Hope you are feeling better

  • Some people need to be alerted when the ladder they're standing on is no longer stable?

How on earth could there be leftover stock of this?

    • +2

I guess the people who needed this are already dead or in hospital, or soon to be.

(No offence intended, for this politically incorrect comment)

Well and truly over-estimated the demand… I picked one up for a mere $5 from Bundaberg, QLD, and there was at least another two in the clearance bin. I do seriously have to wonder who really needs this… when it starts to tilt too far, you usually notice because you're trying to grab something to stop it !
