At the moment, yes. The Sharp Aquos S3 has some limitations which makes the Zenfone a better buy. Consider:
1.Nobody has as yet successfully unlocked the S3 bootloader so that GCAM can be installed so it's Samsung camera would improve low-light photos.
Zenfone has a better Sony IMX362 camera.
2.S3 vendor ROM stops at Android 8.0.
Zenfone more likely to get Android 9.0 upgrade.
3.S3 is a dual-SIM phone but shipped with single-SIM tray.

4.Price (retail). US$140 for the S3 with above quirks is too much, consider:

Yeah agreed but people seem to prefer sharp S3 over this because of bigger screen and no bezels

is this a significant upgrade and worth it over a redmi note 4, or best to keep using the note 4 if no major issues?
The SD625 in the RN4 will do the job but the SD660 is a decent upgrade.
Battery life will be better though on the RN4 with its 4000mah and SD625.
If the RN4 is still going strong id suggest to keep unless you want a better camera then go for a RN5 pro AI, RN6 or RN7 when a decent deal pops up.
I went from a RN4x to RN5 pro AI and it has a way better camera hence why i got it. Albeit its my 3rd backup phone lol.
