Most issues sorted, still some bugs with smart notifications, eg 2 notifications for every motion event on android, and delays in smart notifications from 10 seconds to 5 minutes. Notifications are instant when you're not subscribed to a plan.
The Xiaomi camera’s night vision is leagues better than this at a fraction of the price.

Night vision is acceptable with the Ultra's 100lumens spotlight. Still a little grainy but it's colour. You pay extra if you want to be able to record in 4k to the cloud which should see an improvement in night recordings. It records to the base unit's microSD card in 4k which you can't yet access from your app, but you will be able to in the future according to Arlo.
Just tried to setup my new arlo ultra, as per reviews I updated the firmware on the hub and both cams. Tested it today and all i have to say is "terrible!" Picture quality is atrocious, i wasnt even able to make out my partners face 5m away. I would not recommend any buy this trash!

From the library recording or when viewing live 4k streaming on local network? It records in 1080p by default unless you pay extra for premium video recording. I don't have any such issues with quality and can notice a big improvement from my Arlo pro 1 cameras which are 720p.
They held back the release due to software issues. I’m guessing that’s all been sorted??
