I can only find this link, listed as $1.687.

Can you show me the link that you described?

Sorry that was for XR342CK… my bad didn't read OPs title properly.

Saw this monitor at JBHifi, the quality is OK, I'm a bit disappointed for the resolution 3840 x 1600, image quality isn't great, spend a little bit more and get something decent.

    • what should the resolution be for a 38"?

I'd never go off a store demo as most monitor really need to be calibrated properly

      • -1

I also check the resolution and it was max res. Colour is not very good.

        • no as in colour calibration, most defualt settings are mediocre at best

        • There are some websites that give you settings to really help calibrate this as well as show great colour and contrast.
There would be very few people who would be disappointed after owning this monitor for a month.

          • @Danthemanz: Colour has not been a problem in reviews. Probably just bad setting adjustment by the JB Hifi staff.

    75Hz? No thanks.

Also OP, state what kind of HDR and change the supported colours to 1.07 billion.

You can assume it doesn't support HDR although it will map HDR input correctly. IPS needs full array local dimming (which is expensive) for HDR.

      • It's not exactly a cheap monitor though. I suppose for UWQHD it is though.

        • It is cheap compared to the true HDR high refresh models that have just come out for $5000+.

      • dosnt it have to be much brighter too than 300cd/m² ?

    I have this monitor.
I could have bought any monitor on the market and I got this one. I use it for work, games, phots, browsing. My wife does the same and loves it.

Ultra wide is great, but most are just slightly wide 27" 1440p displays, this is quite a step up.
Best of all you don't need to break apps using scaling either.
HDR is a nice added bonus for games, it's not my LG OLED TV, but it's better HDR than anything else I could do work on…

  • Nvidia cards were unable to work on this monitor or the 3440x1440p version at anything over 60Hz. It would be interesting to know if now that nvidia has basic Freesync support, if they can now run the monitor at 75Hz.

What are you talking about? I have this monitor and a GTX1070 and it works flawlessly at 3840x1600 @75hz. HDR also works out of the box as does gsync (but you can't have HDR and adaptive sync both concurrently).

Awesome monitor for productivity and a bit of light gaming

      • Yep, sorry it is the LG that has the issues.

    • You're this mixing up the LG Freesync models. The Acer ones never had issues.
