360

Great program for cash to spend at one of the most amazing airports in the world for those traveling through Singapore Changi Airport - extended yet again for a whopping 5 months for all airlines/flights listed as part of this program till 30 September 2019. The Singapore Airlines website shows it extended till 31 March 2020.

https://www.singaporeair.com/en_UK/us/plan-travel/privileges…

From the Changi Airport website:

What:

Eligible transit passengers arriving in Changi Airport between 1 April 2019 and 30 September 2019 (both dates inclusive) will receive transit voucher worth S$20 from all points of origin of the entire return trip. Eligible transit passengers whose point of origin of the entire return trip is China (Mainland) will receive two transit vouchers worth S$20 each, one of which is applicable for Liquor, Perfumes or Cosmetics purchases only.

Eligibility:

Passengers travelling on Singapore Airlines (SQ) and/or SilkAir (MI) ticketed and operated flights into and out of Singapore with 13 digits e-ticket numbers begin with 618, 629 or 086.

Any connecting flight into or out of Singapore that is not operated by Singapore Airlines or SilkAir (specifically, SQ4281 [Auckland], SQ4282 [Auckland], SQ4283 [Auckland], NZ281 [Auckland], NZ282 [Auckland], NZ293 [Apia] or NZ284 [Auckland] operated by Air New Zealand or TR596 [Saudi Arabia] or TR597 [Saudi Arabia] operated by Scoot.)

Passengers must be on transit in Changi Airport on both legs of their journey, which means Singapore is neither the point of origin nor the end destination.

Transit passengers on one-way journey or ticket are not eligible. For example, a passenger whose journey is:
“London – Singapore – Sydney – Singapore - London” is eligible;
“London – Singapore – London” is not eligible;
A one-way journey “London – Singapore – Sydney only” is not eligible.

Transit means a layover at Changi Airport of not more than 24 hours. This is calculated from the Scheduled Time of Arrival (STA) of the arriving flight into Changi
Airport to the Scheduled Time of Departure (STD) of the connecting departure flight out of Changi Airport.

Passengers who are in transit at Changi Airport for only one leg of the journey must originate and return to the same country by air via Changi Airport. Such passenger must present proof of travel by land or sea from/to Singapore (e.g. booking confirmation, invoice, ticket) and three (3) flight sectors via Changi Airport. For example, a passenger whose journey is:
“Mumbai – Singapore, Kuala Lumpur – Singapore – Mumbai” AND Singapore – Kuala Lumpur is by land or sea AND proofs (e.g. booking confirmation, invoice and ticket) of land or sea transfers are presented, is eligible;
“Beijing – Singapore, Bangkok – Singapore –Shanghai” AND Singapore – Bangkok is by sea AND proofs (e.g. invoice and ticket) of land or sea transfers are presented, is eligible;
“Shanghai – Singapore – Perth, Singapore – Shanghai” in a single ticket BUT “Perth – Singapore” is by other airline, is not eligible;

Passengers must be above 2 years old at the point of ticket issuance and have their own seat, which means that their seat is not shared with their parent or guardian.

Passengers whose transit (through Singapore) itinerary was issued over two or more separate e-tickets must present all the e-tickets to the relevant staff for verification. We regret that will not be able to process the claims for the transit voucher without all the necessary documentary proof.

From the Singapore Airlines website:

Passengers travelling on Singapore Airlines (SQ) and/or SilkAir (MI) ticketed and operated flights into and out of Singapore. For codeshare flights operated by Singapore Airlines (SQ) and/or SilkAir (MI), the 4-digits flight numbers must start with SQ or MI.

For transit passengers arriving into Changi Airport between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2020 (both dates inclusive):

o You will receive a transit reward worth S$20 from all points of origin of your entire return trip.

o You will receive two transit rewards worth S$20 each, one of which is applicable for Liquor, Perfumes or Cosmetics purchases only, if the point of origin of your entire return trip is from China (Mainland)

The transit reward is valid for use at all retail and service outlets in the transit and public areas of Singapore’s Changi Airport (exclusions apply), or can be redeemed for one-time access to the Ambassador Lounge at Terminals 2 or 3 for up to two hours. The Ambassador Lounge provides shower facilities (including basic toiletries), light refreshments, reading material and complimentary WiFi.

  • I am travelling in September, but I have just 1 hour 5 minutes layover starting 9:30 pm, is 1 hour enough to collect and redeem the voucher?

    • +4

      As with all questions in life…it depends…

      Do you know if you have to switch terminals for the transit? What time of the day is your layover?

      What's your stride length?

      How much earlier on average does your flight tend to arrive historically?
      (SQ flights tend to arrive earlier than planned and have priority offloading at Changi Airport)

      Do you know what you're buying and where you're buying it and have planned your route meticulously to ensure people don't mutter under their breath when you're the last one boarding the connecting flight?

      • Yes, I have to change the terminal, and arrival is 9:30 pm, and average stride length

        Unfortunately me return flight also is 1 hour layover.

        • Get voucher one way and use voucher on return? :)

    • +1

      1 hour is not enough time to pickup the SGD20 Changi Dollar Voucher as the lineup at the pickup counter can sometimes be long.

      • +2

        I’ve collected this voucher several times and have never had to wait more than a couple of minutes, so your mileage may vary.

        Remember you can also collect it on your way back if you have a longer connection.

    Used this last year, saved me some decent coin feeding the family on both journeys to and from my destination.

    • Good food even better prices too.

    • But the food Court on level 1 does not accept the voucher. So, how did you save money on food?

      • Hit the lounge.

      • You could try Bengawan Solo too, it is amazing.

  • So Scoot from Gold coast transitting in Changi to Cebu is not included is it only Singapore airlines.

    • Yea only Singapore airlines. Scoot flights only to and from Saudi Arabia with those codes in the post…sorry!

  • Damn. I arrive there October 1st. 😐

    • If you’re on an SIA flight the deal lasts till end of March 2020

  • Interested to see if I can get it.. travelling Syd to Paris. On sq however coming home Hannover-singapore-Syd. All flights sq

    • Please let us know if it does :)

    • Don't see why not. I'm going BNE->SIN->CDG, but stopping over in SIN, so no voucher.
      Return is CPH->SIN->BNE with layover, so should be able to get a shower on the way home :-)

  • Travelling in June. Anyone have a couple of ideas on what's worth spending on from experience ?

    • Cookies from some bakery stores, medicine for drug store, or light snack and drink from convenient store inside Changi.

  • I'm flying return melb-sin-seoul next week. Same flight back

    Does that mean I get only 1 voucher or one each way?
    If it is one each way, does anyone know if I can stack them?

    • You can only redeem one voucher to use either way I believe

      • +1

        Thanks for the info!!!

  • Is this only valid for return trips?
    I'm coming through Singapore On SQ one way in October.

    • Yes only return.

  • I recently tried to use this, flying both Singapore Airlines and Silk air but because I booked through Virgin Australia I was ineligible to receive the $20. Bummer

    • Only certain SilkAir flights Auckland outbound or inbound are eligible I believe

  • +1

    where can you use this voucher???

    Exclusion is:
    All dining outlets (e.g quick bite kioks, cafes, food courts, restuarants and bars), all supermarkets and convenience stores, left baggage counters, money-changing counters, Changi Recommends, Drycleaning Services, Medical Services, Postage Services.

    • Have you been to Changi Airport? Make a visit and I’m sure you’ll then understand. If you’ve already been to one or more of the terminals and haven’t been impressed with what they had to offer, try terminal 3.

  • Am i correct in understanding that anyone travelling with Qantas with transit in Singapore is excluded?

    • You’re right. This is for Singapore Airlines (mostly) plus transit through Singapore Changi Airport.

  • I wonder if anyone had experience with validity and expiry of these vouchers.
    I have 4 that expire on 30 Apr 19. And I will be at Airport on 07 May. I wonder if there is a way I can use them?

    • Singapore is a pretty law by law country, meaning there’s no room for being outside the rules…

  • "Eligible transit passengers arriving in Changi Airport between 1 April 2019 and 30 September 2019 (both dates inclusive) will receive transit voucher worth S$20 from all points of origin of the entire return trip."

    I R confused. So our trip is Brisbane-Changi-Shanghai, do we get the vouchers at Brisbane before takeoff?

      Get them in Changi. The locations are in the link for collection points in T2 and T3
