Lacks interesting features, apart from a one off bribe for joining. Depends what $205 is worth to you. Bearing in mind that the impact on your credit file is an opportunity cost - you're better off taking that hit by getting a better product.

Username checks out. $205 is worth $205 to me!

I churn credit cards like it's going out of fashion, I don't believe in these 'credit hits' if you get rejected for a CC it's not because of 'credit file hits' it's because you are failing at either the income or assets.

      • what do you suggest at the moment and or is there a particular website i should look at?

OZB usually has them all, the last few my household has done is the Westpac 100K altidude points, Westpac 80K Qantas points and the citibank 100K points cards.

Sometimes concurrently, it all depends on the offers available and if I've met my 'minimum' spend on the other cards. I have a spreadsheet just for CC churning, when I closed it is the most important because you usually can't do it again with the same bank within 12 months.

get a square box and send back the next day, net income should exceed $190. Do banks deserve any better?

Applied and got declined immediately. I am assuming they are pretty conservative or, if they are like many banks, they only want to give cards to people that they'll make money from.

I found that when I have a couple of credit cards already, I was approved for 3rd and 4th credit cards with 5 figure limits.

I currently have no credit cards, no car or personal loans, no children and a salary in the upper 5 figure range. So no problem with me servicing the repayment… and that's maybe the problem.

    • Interesting…

I applied with multiple credit cards on file but no interest paid on them. It’s also only a small increase in total credit limit. They won’t make money from me but I was approved.

Also if they were in it for making money they wouldn’t give away $250.

Their automated systems obviously "thinks" that you are someone that will make them money. They have no way of knowing how much interest you've paid on other credit cards.

Also, is your last comment serious? Banks are certainly for-profit organisations. The more money they "give" you, the more money they are hoping to recoup in interest, fees, cross-promotions, etc.

    • I got rejected too. Pretty sure your theory is right.
Only applied for $500 credit limit, good credit rating, no kids, and on 6 figure salary.

      • Yea 500 limit on a 6 figure salary almost makes it obvious that you're just doing it for the points. Should have asked for a few thousand to make it look legit. They could smell an ozber

$1500 is too much to spend for me, I don't spend much.

  • Card received. Internet banking set up.

    • how long did it take for yours to come in? been 10 days since approval and still nothing

      • 9 business days for me. Almost forgot about it :S

  • Cashback will be credited to the purchasing card within 60 days of meeting the spend criteria.

Just hit the $1500 spend. Now time to wait…

    • Pretty efficient. Hit the spend on 24 April. $250 cash back credited on 30 April. $45 annual fee charged on 3 May; last day of the statement month.

If you were quick you could potentially cancel the card after cash back but before the annual fee. For next time…
