Thanks I’ll add them to the description if possible

    • @camelthief do you know how to hack more games on the SNES? Because I bought it but 21 games are not enough for me to play. Thank heaps

  • +3

Sucks no Donkey Kong Country 2, that was one of the best on the system!

    • +3

It's extremely easy to add it…

  • What's the word on the street about this one - I've avoided all the 'retro mini console' things previously as I just don't think I'll ever use them but this one has some pretty cool stuff on-board… tempted.

    • +3

The only official way to play Starfox 2 is worth the price alone. And the rest of the lineups are true classics which have aged beautifully imho

        Found the hipster

    • +2

This option is very convenient and unlike the alternatives, is completely unambiguously legal.

I think this one comes with 2 controllers too, or is that the NES?

      • This one has two controllers. You need to buy extra for the NES classic.

        • Are the controllers interchangeable?

          • +2

@Jackson: You can use the SNES one on the NES.

    • I think it's great and unlike the NES Classic, which I'd argue gets by a bit more on it's nostalgic value, a lot of the games from the SNES era hold up very well today. Mario Kart and a few feel super dated but the top down RPG's and platforming titles in particular play very well.

Some of the features added to the emulation are very good too.

    • well you've done well to avoid the others because they usually aren't made by the original company that made them. This is made by Nintendo and Nintendo is always quality.

    • Nintendo did an excellent job with both the nes and snes classics. The snes comes with 2 controllers whereas the nes came with one (and with a shorter cable). Although the nes typically sells for $20 less so you can pick up an extra controller.

The sega megadrive classic was licensed by sega and made by third party (Atgames). Most reviews say it is rubbish.

The playstation classic was made by Sony but again reviews have said it was poorly executed.

You forgot to add Star Fox 2 to the list. That’s a big one.
The game was cancelled just before release and this system is the only way to get it , 20 odd years later. (They cancelled it even though it was finished, cos the Nintendo64 was about to come out)

The link doesn’t work, unless it’s already expired. Edit, link now is working??

  • I had the original snes, and I also have the snes on my phone, maybe when it gets cheap just for a collectors item.

  • +2

Yo Amazon I want a $49 Playstation Classic

    • May as well install these PS1 games into the SNES mini, as it Surprisingly runs better than the PS1 classic.

Downside is the aesthetics of the console and feel of the controller.

  • +2

Okay, I'm in. For nostalgia alone it's worth the price of admission, and the games list is very good. Needed to use my $10 targeted coupon from Amazon this week anyway, so good deal @$89 delivered.

    • -2

$89 is a lot for one hour of gaming …

      • +1

That's largely why I never picked up the predecessor of this one - but I think there's some good value gaming in this selection. Could be particularly good to have in the bag on weekends away - in the event the weather keeps us indoors!

  • Anyone know the best (and cheapest) place to get the 8bitdo SNES mini receiver from? There's loads on eBay but some look like knock off versions?

    TIA

  • +1

Thank god I grew up with PC classic games. $99 SAVED!

    • +10

If you grew up on PC games you didn't save anything in time or money! ;)

      Exhibit A:
Load up game, "sorry, your sound card isn't compatible" - off to the store to buy a 16-bit sound card!

      • +2

        486 DX TURBO MODE MOTHERFACKAS!

  • If anyone own it can advise what is the resolution like..is it even playable(viewable) on fhd tv?

    • +1

It works; the demo in Costco is running on a modern TV too.

      • +1

yes my 40" Sony LED TV sounds great but for some reason my 27" ASUS monitor shows poor graphics.

  • -3

The first sentence on the deal is confusing to me. Every serious catch member has club catch membership so they have free shipping too. The amount of club catch deals is insane.

    • +2

Catch membership required, no need with Amazon. Hardly confusing and personally I rarely buy from catch so wouldn't consider a membership whether it's free or not.

  • I hope it goes lower, what are the odds it gets to the 70-80 mark or lower?

    • See below, but unlikely as they usually sell quite well when just slightly off RRP (like this post).

  • +1

Not enough for a Deal Post, but KMART Belconnen has
    6 x SNES @ $79 each
    5 x NES @ $59 each

    • They've been on clearance at Kmart since mid-February: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/438246

Surprising to see so much stock of the SNES at your store though as most people reported none or low stock of the SNES but reasonable stock of the NES.

    • Thank you.

  • +1

They are phasing them out, so i encourage people to get one at a decent price before you don't see them. Yes they've been everywhere for ages, but soon that won't be the case.

  • I added another 80+ games to mine the other week and they work perfectly. I paid full price for mine and with the additional games, think it's worth it.

Was only playing Killer Instinct just yesterday lol

  • +1

    Lufia 2.

  • Still will wait it goes on reduce to clear, they always will. Why regret and buy it so quick when so many stores will always have it cheaper, price has gone cheaper for the past year on ozbaragin, this deal is definitely not the last.

    • I think the argument is that there is no longer any of these being made. I'll pay fiddy, no more though. Same with the PS Classic.

      • Yeah not in production but you will be suprised how much stock left in inventory from store to store, u till retail shops start to advertise snes mini wouldn’t be suprised.

        • Yeah, we'll still see it cheaper I've no doubt.

  • Now dropped to $90 it seems

  • It's $90 delivered now.

Is this the new standard RRP?

    EDIT: Beaten by doweyy

  • Trying to see if I can get the $9 back from my order from two days ago. Still hasn't shipped, but I can't fit the life of me see an option to contact the seller or even cancel the order in Amazon… Not mobile or desktop view.

Select the item and shoot customer service a polite email asking for a refund on the difference.

    • I contacted Amazon through chat support. They can not refund the difference but suggested to cancel and reorder which I did. I was also able to use my $10 voucher used on previous order again. Good deal at $80.

      • I don't seem to have a cancel option.
Maybe they should take my internet of me

      • Mine was already delivered - super fast - ordered Monday and arrived Tuesday. Was too fast as I can't cancel and reorder with my voucher again Doesn't matter - only $9 difference (I paid $89) after voucher.

  • +1

    back to $99 now…

  • How cute is this darn thing?! Even for just the outer packaging it's worth this much - Nintendo do things well.
