This has been running for a while, but most people don't really know about it. It's basically the last few bits of stock of each of the items Farnell just has lying around.
It's great to buff up your current electronics collection or whether you're just starting.
Resistors from next to nothing (buy 50 packs for $1.75):

etc. the list goes on, sort by price and you're golden to get millions of components for barely anything.
There is FREE DELIVERY on ALL online orders as well, i think there is just a limit of at least $10 on the order.
Can't say the pricing is much better than their regular pricing for basic components… am I missing something?
Not gonna neg the deal though as I love Element14 and their free delivery. Makes the hobby side of my Uni degree so much cheaper to entertain (and the <3 day shipping means my project actually gets completed).
That said, if your after start kits of sorts, and are paying enough to offset the $4 delivery, http://www.futurlec.com.au/ is cheaper and can get things like a 300 resistor pack for $2.95. Delivery will take a long time though (Don't be thrown off by the ugly as anything site). They've also got reasonably priced microcontrollers unlike Element14 (Eg. ATMega328 $3.50 versus $10).
