Missus broke 2nd Xiaomi Mi A1 last week. Seems like Xiaomi doesn't suit her. So I was looking for a different brand this time.

This phone looks interesting … Its similar to this deal in specs. The Umidigi has bigger battery, this one has more RAM.

Sounds like missus needs a good phone case

    • Both phone had the cases, but the cases were cheap $3 ebay junk. Learned my lesson, gonna buy a reputed company case next time.

      • I have always used cheap cases on my flagship phones and in nearly 10 years never had a cracked screen/phone.

        • Sound like then Xiaomi used some really delicate screens. In the last 1 year, I had 3 Xiaomi phones with broken screens. All the screens gone with just 1 drop, despite being in a case.

someone here seems butthurt. maybe a seller of expensive cases?

      • Screen protectors should help either film or glass. Reason is it disburses any shocks rather than a point in the screen that is where the crack across the screen happens.

Xiaomi A2 Lite isn't too bad $250 ebay for Australian stock. Closer to $200 with the 15% off.

    • Does Coolicool charge GST ?

      • no

        • So how is the GST collected ? Since its mandatory for all online purchases from Australia or overseas ? Do you get a call from customs to pay GST to get your item released ?

@paul11: Aliexpress will tack it on when you check out when delivered into Australia

          • +1

            @paul11: no GST is collected.
            nothing happens.

            • @altomic: can also collect GST and not pay it to the ATO. Nothing happens.

  • Steve Jobs will be ashamed if he can see those specs and the price.

    • Nah. He's not selling specs, he's selling a brand

  • Would this be much of an upgrade over an LG G6?

  • No NFC on this.

In my opinion Xiaomi would still be a better choice. Xiaomi is a reputable brand now and make really good devices. Also you will get regular updates for MIUI whereas with Elephone, don't expect any updates (might have improved a bit now but I would still avoid unless there is a big price difference with better specs)…

    • Regular updates on Xiaomi only for snapdragon. Don't buy Mediatek.
