Barely any decent stores :c 20% of site wide pls ebay Australia ;)

    • +1

      agreed….

    • Not far from their usual site wide 10% off, so hold on…….

      • +1

Yeah waiting for another 10% off … disappointed there was no New Year's coupon

        • try and find some 15% off giftcards from the UK in the mean time ;)

  • +11

Shavershop - Excellent….Missed the last 20% off so great to Philips 9000 Series S9211/12 Electric Shaver. thanks OP!!

    • +21

20% off at ShaverShop is like 50% off at a luggage store.

      • +4

Really? Have you looked at the prices on Ebay? The Philips 9000 Series S9211/12 Electric Shaver is $279 before discount of 20% and its the CHEAPEST available both on ebay and any on-line store….So actually, they are VERY cheap for these.

        • Really? Have you looked at the prices on Ebay?

You've missed the point; it's about the frequency of their discounts, not their savings.

          • @chrism238: Ahh sure…However with luggage stores their prices are not that competitive compared to the market normally. They just "look" good at 50% off….Shaver shop is currently actually quite competitive…

            But i get your point….

      • +3

or a 90% off a rug store. "Liquidation sale! Everything Must Go!!"

    • Still expensive, really worth it? I considered but worried it wouldn't be great.

      • Is anything really worth it? All depends on what you value…..

For me, i have had my current Philips shaver for about 12 years and it has never missed a beat. I have changed the blades a few times but that is expected. Given its around $220 delivered for their (almost) top of the line for me, its worth it….

      • I'm a long time philips shaver user, and can tell the new models are absolute rubbish. Very cheaply made. I bought 7000 model…like a cheap Chinese toy. The 9000 uses same design in fancier package according to Philips. No where near as good as older models. Avoid!

    all household? no electronics?

    • -1

      More fashion then housrhold

      • I didn't know they were doing a household sale after fashion

    • From the email:

Looks like eBay has pulled the pin on the universal 5% code that was active for all of last year.

    • +1

      Booooooo!

      👎👎

    • -4

PACKAGE15 still works if you get two items.

      • Says expired for me.

      • +1

Yeah PACKAGE15 expired 2 days ago.

    • +2

Dear lord I have an auction in my cart I need to pay for, where art thou sitewide 5%

      • +7

It will probably reappear the moment you click "pay now". That's what happens with me.

    • +1

Hope they release another. They'll probably increase min spend.
Last one was $70 so next up $100

    • +5

To be fair, every time the universal 5% code was posted on here, it got universal hatred and scorn. "Not worth it!", "Not enough!" and "That's so stingy, I'd rather have nothing" the bourgeois masses hissed. EBay is just giving us what the majority wanted.

    - knives online
    - Chalet Online

Even though they have heaps of positive feedback, check their ebay negative feedback about providing a fake tracking numbers via couriers please then sending a dummy parcel with tracking via auspost to a random address in your suburb so eBay sides with the seller.

I tried reporting them to eBay but they continue to operate…

Whoa. That's seriously wrong, thanks for sharing that

    • ACCC might be worth a shot? That sounds next-level scummy.

      • That sounds next-level scummy scammy.

        FTFY

      • +1

a joke a day does nothing for anyone -the accc are useless.

    • Yeah, I bought a set of Global knives from them, which arrived about a week late. No reply after contacting them via email and phone (this was while waiting for the package to arrive, between after it was about 2-3 days late). The set eventually arrived without issue.

I also called couriers please who said it was odd that the tracking number provided, which initially seemed real, suddenly disappeared/was not associated with the parcel. Very dodgy practise.

    • thanks, was just about to order with knives online, will avoid now,

      • Good call. I think for a purchase that’s significant, it’s worth perhaps paying a little more from a more reputable seller, for some peace of mind

      • -2

Regarding knives-online, I can't see the substance to ssjwill's complaint based on their feedback. They have approximately 1% negative feedback. Let's remember for a moment that negative feedback is much more likely to be left than positive feedback. So the truth is really much more than 99% of purchasers are happy with their experience.

I can't find any evidence of false tracking numbers in the past year of negative feedback.

So many people are up-voting will's comment without realising there isn't as much truth to his claim as it seems.

I can't see why a business would compromise their integrity to rip-off less than 1% of customers. Knivesonline has been around since 2003 on ebay. I'm confident that you don't survive that long with 27 000 feedback without being a straight business.

ssjwill you need to be more responsible with your claims because it's simply not true. .

    • +4

They also remove negative feedback as ebay sides with them, as happened to me. Their review score should be a lot worse. I had an issue with them that took months to sort out and get refunded. I can't believe they are still allowed to use the platform.

    • Doing gods work…

    • I purchased from Knives online in December and my item arrived fine but it was just in an large envelope with no tracking. So i could see how its possible

    • Bastards!

    • +1

Recently ordered from Chalet online. They haven’t provided a tracking number and delayed parcel for weeks. eBay was on the seller side. Very bad experience going back and forth.
      Avoid this seller

    • +12

If that's what they do then OzBargain should ban their stores to be listed here.

    • Same here, I bought some knife from them and all tracking number are false. The package arrived anyway but without a tracking number and 2 weeks late. They replied to my emails but just to say that the items have been dispatched with such tracking number.

    • Appreciate the warning. eBay reputation is also affected, I’d rather buy in store than take this risk.

Onya Feet - double price jack? Kayano for 420? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ASICS-GEL-KAYANO-25-BLACK-MENS-R…

    • lol

    • As soon as I saw this I thought of Jack.

    • I hope no one anywhere ever pays that price.

  • Looks like eBay Australia has updated its t&cs to try to limit the abuse of promotional codes.

    • what kind of abuses happened in the past?

    • +3

What do you mean by this?

      • I can't be certain but isn't the section about the promotional codes being for personal use only and referring to having multiple eBay accounts, a new addition to the t&cs. I don't know if it changes how codes work in practice.

      • +2

"Notwithstanding the number of eBay User IDs you may have registered with eBay, the code is provided to you in your personal capacity as an eBay User and the limitations on its usage apply to you in that capacity"

Edit: ahh. pipped by seconds. But now it's here so you can read it.

  • Thanks - got a good deal on beard trimmer from shaver shop !

    • Which one?

      • Philips Tt2040 Body Groom Duo Grey Tt2040/32

Protein Kings - terrible prices, not sure if jacked or just bad prices to begin with - your mileage may vary, but everything i was after is inflated.

    • +1

Isn't the point of getting stuff from Protein kings to get "jacked" ;P

      • Yeah but not price jacked :p

  • They may have another 20% off soon for tech.

  • Techfast?

    • +3

      That’s who I’m waiting for!

  • Can't see anyone who'd have decent mobile deals, anyone know or have a search link…

    • +3

I thought they sell French train tickets.

  • +1

I don't understand why people vote up for this post before reading thru

    • +1

In line with the OzBargain mentality - Buy first, regret later.

    • I don't understand why people don't park at the drive-thru.

    • Not everyone is just interested in electronics etc, although I suspect that not as many ozbargainers are into fitness/personal products.

I bought some cycling accessories with this code and saved a fair bit especially when compared to some overseas sites and some local overpriced bike shops. Thanks op!

  • On the one occasion I need Ozplaza they are not participating!

    • Same here! Wanted to buy 30m hose reel.

  • Shaver Shop has removed normal "Gillette Fusion" blades/refill.

  • +5

It's a bit niche, but Le Tour Cycles have quite good prices on bike parts already (better in store, but eBay prices aren't significantly higher). After discounts they've got e.g. fox proframe helmets for $220+ which is the best I've seen, Bell super 3R's for $240+ (best I've otherwise found is $300).

Their torque wrench from Velocibili is also pretty great quality and ~$50 delivered, I don't know how that price compares to others though.

    • They have quite good prices on some of the more budget things too. They are often the cheapest price in Aus, I've been happy with their service.

  • +1

still waiting for 20% off sitewide, I got planty gift cards ready.

    • +4

Your gift cards will probably expire before that 20% off sitewide happens ;p

      • +2

        I got 3 years to wait…haha

        • Haven't seen it happened on eBay AU in the past 3 years…
