Nice. Unlimited calls plus an extra free 30 minutes for me

I thought all plans except the very cheapest have unlimited calls within Australia already. How is this a bargain?

You answered you own question. In addition, if you're out of credit, this gives you 30min

    • I'm on a $10/month Amaysim and it has unlimited calls/text, dunno how much cheaper it can go

Vodafone 365 day plan is a pay as you go. You just recharge the minimum amount and will be valid for 1year.

        • 650min of calls (~10hrs) or 650 text messages until the 365 plan breaks even with a $10/month plan (due to 28 days it's actually $130/year). I think you could easily hit that in a couple of months. That's not even accounting for any data usage (The Amaysim prepaid has 1GB of data each month). Even if you only spoke for an hr a month on your phone and didn't send any text messages the pay as you go would end up being more expensive.

AmaySim also have a PAYG 365 prepaid which is 15c per min/text compared to Vodafones 20c per min/text although their data is much more costly (15.4c/MB VS Vodafone 2c/MB) so if you plan on using data I think Vodafone wins on that front.

      • Hive Mobile has the same plan for $9.80 a month, no contract or up front charges.

If you can catch Aldi Mobile's yearly $99 super pack, that's essentially a 12 month contract with unlimited calls + texts with a gig of data per month, works out at $8.25.

PennyTel's bottom tier plan is the same for $8.24 (25% off for 6 months). No contract, no up front costs. They've had much better deals before. This same plan was $4.40 not too long ago.

Moose Mobile have a $9 per month plan with the first month at 1 cent/basically free, but it's 200 minutes of calls (unlimited texts).

All of these plans I've listed give you the full fat month, not 28 days. Only advantage of Amaysim is being prepaid.
