  • how's this compared to Kogan mobile (voda reseller)?

    • +1

This includes 5G which is better in my opinion

    • +3

If you can finish using the data…

    • Kogan doesn’t have 5g

    • -1

      Aa…. aaa …. aaa… static… can you hear me….. sorry I am on Vodafail

      • They are actually heaps better than those days

        • But no way near to Telstra/Optus

          • @powerful9990: The support is as bad as it gets, no doubt about it. But the coverage, for me in SEQ/NNSW it is better with Vodafone than Aldi (Telstra wholesale). I've got both SIM's

      • Bring on negs haters! mwahahaha

  • Thanks OP. Seems like a good deal. I am new to 365 day plans. How is the network coverage compared to Telstra? Is this a 5G option? How does roaming work for this plan?

    • is this esim?

      • +2

Yes after activating the physical sim, you can do a sim swap on the app

    • +2

No way near compare to Telstra/Boost around Adelaide. So many times people are trying to call me and it goes straight to VM, I have noticed this even with full bars. VF is shocking, need to lift up their game.

      • +1

Telstra/Boost limit speeds to 150mbps. Whereas Vodafone doesn’t.

But I agree coverage is the problem with Vodafone.

        • Is it worse than Optus around Melbourne?

        • But can you realistically exceed 150mbps on VF? In my experience in Melbourne, not possible.

        • Only Boost limits speeds to 150mbps, likely as a differentiator to Telstra.

      • Depends mate. Optus and Telstra are horrible down south.

    • They now cover approximately 1,000,000 square km. Australia has over 7 300 000 square km.

    • +1

Network coverage is generally not as good as Telstra in rural/regional areas, but supposedly, they're now sharing their non-metro network with Optus, so it should be much better than it was before. I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

Yes, it comes with uncapped speed 5G

Roaming comes in the form of add-ons you can buy in the app, which are a ripoff IMO. Just buy a travel ESIM instead

    • +1

Vodafone was terrible a few months back
      Absolutely hopeless outside metro areas.
Take one trip out of town and you quickly found out.
Dont know if this has changed but was good enogh reason to dump Kogan Mobile 3 years agao.

Some 0 braincell person here is negging everyone who talks against Vodafail. Mwahahaha!

  • Stack with TopCashback at 15% cashback

Anyone with recent positive experience…Vodafone honor 1-yr-plan purchase via TCB ? Thanks

    • Yes there is a deal for 320 Sim going for $180 and was able to get it tracked on TCB no issues

      • +2

        Sadly, this offer expired yesterday

      • I got the $180 from their store yesterday (last day), but I'm thinking to return & go with this -15% TopCashback $127.5 (better than $140.62 proportional to extra data). Will switch $50-5 plan to non VF & activate this by 31/3 to save ~$34*12. Any better suggestions?

        • I saw up to 15% cashback for a few minutes after this was posted. I dont see any cashback offers for Vodafone on Topcashback.

      • When did you make a purchase? I bought it yesterday afternoon and it tracked at $0.

      • I think you need to activate sim within 1 month?

    • Apology: 'recent positive experience' means money-back claim(s) returnED to your bank account ?

    • Not a great experience for me so far.
I bought the $180 sim yesterday and TCB tracked at $0.
Had to lodge a claim for incorrect tracking today.

    • +1

      @Magicmagic: pls update post: NO cashback-> https://www.topcashback.com.au/vodafone/

    • +1

I would recommend pay with ZIP with 14% cashback. I just placed order and get $21 instantly.

      • +1

pay with ZIP with 14% cashback

What's the catch: assume novice-buyers & all traps are clear stated…NO-surprises. Thanks

  • Can you add an iwatch plan to this?

    • +1

No, only postpaid plans and then attach a apple watch plan (looking at at least $49 a month)

  • Just wanted to ask if the coverage is better than the Kogan one (said had Optus coverage as well?), and how is the connection around Sydney upper north shore around the national forests?

  • Also wanted to ask if topcashback is compatible with the afterpay $30 off?

    • I don't see why not?

  • Will the 15% cashback rate remain until March when this deal ends?

    • +1

I would say the cashback rate at end of March will be the same or greater than the current rate

  • +1

No international calls or sms, might be a deal breaker for some.

  • Does anyone know if this can be activated later than 31 March?

    • +1

Sure, but you might lose the promotional data. It's 'might' though, sometimes the promotional data is still there after the promotional period.

    • I was assured today that you can buy it now and activate it later. The sim pack itself says so — it expires after 365 days.

      • +1

yes, bonus data for your first 3 charges and end on 31/03/2027. So as long you charge before that date.

  • +1

The recharge is kind of useless to most ozbargainers right? it is a 12 month plan and who gonna use that much data and recharge at the full price? Or I am missing something? But having said that, even the stand alone value is good, with cash back and with Afterpay $30 off. Less than $9 a month for about 20GB data.

    • Which cashback are you referring to?
Also, won't afterpay code invalidate cashback?

    • Does Voda phone accept after pay?

  • Anyone knows if we can receive SMS from overseas with this Vodafone SIM card without a roaming pack?

  • +1

Why can’t I see any cashback offer with Topcashback?

    • +1

Expired I think. Best next is shopback. You must activate writhin a month to qualify

  • +1

Voda Network is very bad in my area, upgrade BS !!

  • I can not add any plan to cart, is there anything wrong? I have tried Chrome and Edge, still same problem. I am also getting "403 Forbidden" when trying to login account.

  • -3

I dont understand why oeople buy these 12 month plans. I use 100gb in a month. Wouldnt it work out cheaper to buy a smaller amount of data at a cgeaper price on a monthly basis?

    • +3

I think your case would be an exception, most people would not use 100GB in a month unless they were hotspotting at home and using it as their primary home internet.

    • +2

Because not everyone need 100gb per month.
But also cheapest monthly plan is usually around $15 per month, which makes it total to $180. But with this price you would likely get something like 10Gb-15Gb per month

    • +3

I used less than 100GB per year.

I do between 1TB-2TB per month on my NBN FTTP connection.

    • Most ppl don’t use anywhere near that. Most time at home or at work on wifi etc. only use data commuting or when out. Obviously u don’t rely on wifi but I rekon ur not the norm

  • Ordered one, thanks OP!

  • +1

    Activate by when?

    • 1 year. But if you want cashback with any of the cashback websites you must activate within one month.

  • whats the roaming options? i head overseas sometimes and need to get a call every now and again? im assuming I can use WiFi calling free for calls to and from Aus, but what about actual roaming? cant see it noted anywhere

    • Don’t bother. U can get roamless pay like $20 for like 10gb use overseas. Credit doesn’t expire.

      • thats what im asking Gavman whats the roaming cost and how does it work, I would need to have it for calls and text and data would be nice
like they do $5 a day on postpaid can use your plan overseas?

  • So on the first purchase port in, do u get 150gb or 250gb. Or is just 250 when u rechage

    • Want to know this as well.

      • +1

        250gb first 3 recharges

    • -2

You only get 150GB - which is a bit misleading because they made it appear to be 250GB for $150, which it isn't. Only on the first 3 recharges which is unless for me because I use 10 GB per month.

      • Is this right? Anyone else confirm please? If so, that is pretty shit.

        Coz it definitely advertised as
Get a $250 Prepaid Plus Starter Pack for $150

Get 250GB total data (150GB + 100GB Bonus Data) on your first 3 recharges made before 31/03/27 (activation counts as first recharge)

        • +2

Actually that's what happened initially, it showed me I only had 150GB. But then later I checked again it shows 250GB. So yeah rest assured, activation counts as first recharge it just takes the system a few hours to include the bonus data.

          • @3d3e3fae: I just ported over and it's only showing the 150GB like you said.

How long after initial activation did it take for the extra 100GB to show up?

            Thanks mate.

  • Unless I’m interpreting this wrong, it costs $150 each time to recharge?

    • +1

Pretty sure it would be $250 to recharge. The recharge refers to data.
As a new one is always around $150, you should port every year instead.

  • Next day delivery of sim card.

It says only available at VF retail stores. And no overseas calls.

  • Not sure if this is a common Vodafail issue or just on this plan.

I'm currently using this plan, and the reception is not ideal in certain populated SYD metro areas. E.g., if you are on the train between Strathfield and Redfern or Central and TH, the signal interrupts very badly.

  • +1

About WIFI calling with this plan: I have noticed that WIFI calling is advertised but doesn't work in practice. If I switch to aeroplane mode but with WIFI on, I actually cannot make a call through WIFI. I got a voice message saying I don't have enough credits. Switching back to normal mode I can make calls etc so I do have enough credits. With exactly the same phone settings I could do this with Boost mobile previously. I double checked my settings and WIFI calling is still enabled.

  • Anyone know how fast to port from Optus to Vodafone during weekend?

    • Vodafone supports porting on Sat.

  • $35 top back referral + $22.50 cashback makes this a steal. Thanks.

    • What is the top back referral in this instance?

      • Topcashback referral stacks with $22.5 giving you $57.50 off when u refer someone to topcashback and they make a purchase.

  • Does this work if I’m already with Vodafone? I’m currently on this very same plan but due to expire soon.
