  • Is it good?

  • OP any thoughts or reviews? looks good on paper especially the POE part

    • +1

There are three rather mixed reviews on the NewEgg page.

Summing them up: The system has great features and great picture quality, but poor documentation, useless tech support, the mobile viewing apps often don't work (latest reviews for the Android apps says it's broken again), and you need to supply a hdd.

It seems pretty hit and miss, but two of the three reviewers are happy with it and would recommend it, albeit after some tinkering around to get it working smoothly. The third returned it.

      Reviews on Amazon look decent

I will post my review once I receive it

      • Do you have an estimate on delivery?

        • Scheduled delivery: Tuesday 04/12/2018 by 18:00

          • @bargain_finder: Have you received them and can you provide any initial comments?

            • @mctrix: Nope, Fedex stuffed up the delivery and it's still sitting with Auspost (since it is going to a parcel locker)
Will update when i get it …

              • @bargain_finder: Thanks. I am interested in the kit and just using the cameras with a synology nas.

                • @mctrix: I'm currently using Surveillance station on my Synology with a Hikvision 8MP camera using H265+ and find that it can't keep up and that there are dropped frames even on a gigabit POE switch. So giving up on it and going to plug all the camera's on this NVR.
This is with an upgraded Xeon E3-1240V2 CPU on my NAS.

                  • @bargain_finder: Thanks. I did figure a dedicated nvr may perform better but I'm concerned about viewing over the internet/ phone apps and was also trying to figure out how to isolate the camera and nvr from other network devices.

I was considering using the telstra nbn router and then putting my ac 68 into bridge mode to provide internet to the rest of my network

@mctrix: Picked up my NVR & Cameras from the post this evening and had a play with it, very impressed with the camera build and picture quality and the NVR config.
Was pretty straight forward to setup. Picture quality is comparable to Hikvision and it really feels like it is a re-branded hikvision system looking at the menus. NVR has a web configuration option so you don't need to connect a monitor/supplied mouse to the NVR for configuration (once you find the IP and set it).
Package came with the SATA connection cables for the HDD, 4 sets of 100Ft Cat5E cables and an HDMI cable.
Indoor low light video quality is pretty good.

    • It does look like a great deal.

  • worst case would the cameras would work with a different PVR or Synology…?

Have you seen the new Synology coming out with improved image recognition

    • +1

If they are ONVIF you should be good to go with PC apps etc.

  • +3

Milestone offer a great free PC NVR. I have used it for years and can not fault it.
$400 for 4 x IP Poe cameras by itself is a decent deal

  • Just for anyone considering these, this system is definitely rebanded hikvision because the NVR shows up in my hikvision app without adding it (i used the LaView app to add it in)
