Can you tell me which reddit thread I can read about them and their service?

  • Seems like a game of whack-a-mole. Is it worth it?

    • +9

No. If they want to make legal options limited/difficult. Just pirate.

    • There's no borderline at all. It's perfectly legal. You can even ask our former Communications Minister, Malcolm Turnbull:

"The Copyright Act does not make it illegal to use a VPN to access overseas content.

While content providers often have in place international commercial arrangements to protect copyright in different countries or regions, which can result in ‘geoblocking’, circumventing this is not illegal under the Copyright Act.”

You can setup your own one for like $3 per month via Outline. Also probably more reliable as only you will have your IP using it.

    • Where would you find a residential IP for other country?

    • Care to share a vps provider to use with Netflix? All data centers I use are flagged by Netflix.

Just so people know. Windscribe has a windflixUS and windflixUK options that work perfectly for viewing Netflix us and UK.

I got a lifetime membership a while back for about $40aus from stack social or something. Search Oz bargain.

NZ didn't work to start with for quite some time but latest update has sorted that.

    • Current sale is $24 USD for 3 year membership, or $12 USD for 1 year

      • can u provide link pls

I bought a lifetime subscription for vpn unlimited from stack social/tech deals/Android authority for $40US. works great for netflix. No data restrictions, torrents only allowed on certain servers. Multiple users allowed which is great and with the latest app updates, it's easy to use. Works on my NVIDIA shield and Android phones/tablets and windows.

    • Do any of these services consistently work on android tv (for netflix us)?

  • OK - here's a dummies question.

I sign up for this or one of the other VPNs mentioned. I still have to subscribe to say the US Netflix? If so, won't using an Australian credit card give it away?

Or does the VPN give you access for their fee? - which sounds close to piracy.

And what is the speed like through these VPNs? - I have a quick NBN link and I image this will slow things down.

    • Not sure about the subscription but the speed is fast when I had the 3 days trial. HK UK or US server loaded smoothly without any buffering and I'm on NBN50 connection

    • You only need one netfix account, netflix server detects your location and gives you region specific content. So this is why VPN provider that has servers all over the world is useful.

    • You still need a Netflix subscription. There is nothing illegal about this service under Australian law.
