Google One AI Premium 2TB Plan Free 6-Month Trial (Ongoing A$32.99/Month) for Galaxy S25 Series Users

1130

If you're already a Google One subscriber, this is a great deal as you'll receive a refund for your current plan.

As far as I can tell, this offer is exclusive to Galaxy S25 series users (ultra, plus and base model included). To check eligibility, install the Google One app, which will guide you through claiming the 6-month free trial. Be sure to cancel immediately if you don’t want to be charged after the trial ends.

I renewed my 2TB plan in September 2024 and received a $76.71 refund

Hope this helps someone

  • Don't see any trial on my s25

    • From the Google One app? it's the first screen they show when opened. I forgot to take a screenshot

        What is google 1?

        • +21

          The 1 before google 2

  • S24 Ultra here. Installed to check and only the standard 1 month trial offered.

    • +2

Yes I think this offer is only for S25 series unfortunately

  • +7

I have an S25+, downloaded Google One and got the offer for 6 months. Thanks :)

    Edit: screenshot of trial https://i.imgur.com/T9mIfoX.jpeg

    • Thanks! Updated link to show this instead of the url

  • +1

Yeah it works. ordered two s25 ultras and can confirm both worked on two seperate accounts, i actually signed up the moment i received the phone

    • I'm actually wondering if they will stack for the same account to get 1 year of free storage…

      • +2

no you cant, its only 1 per account. still considering its $32 per month 6 months free is insanely good

        • They gave 1 year with Pixel 9 Pro last year, so even better.

      • I wonder if you can sign in on different accounts on a single s25 to get the 6 months free.

  • Does anyone.know if this stacks with the google pixel google one 24 months deal?

    • Need a guinea pig, as the risk is you will lose the 24 months 😭

      • Lol yeah exactly my thoughts

        • +1

It wasn't 24 months, it was just 12 months for Pixel 9 Pro users last year.

          • +1

@slankets: I didn't even know about this, had Pixel 9 Pro since last month. Made me open it up and got 12 months!

          • @slankets: I didn't know about this either. Just signed up for 12 months. Thanks!

      • same boat lol

    • I am afraid to click Start Trial too lol.

    • +1

I have the 12 month trial with the google Chromebook Pro purchase. Was told if I redeemed the s25 deal, I loose the 12 months and it's replaced with the 6 months.

Google support also advised to wait for 12 month to end before accepting any other offers.

  • This worked for me on my S25. Upon launching the installed one app there was an upgrade subscription button near the bottom of the screen, when I pressed that it said you must update to the latest version of the app to manage subscriptions. I updated the app. Then when the app launched it said something like you might be eligible for an offer, checking to see if you are eligible. Then it offered the 6 month free trial, upon accepting it refunded $124.99 of the 2TB subscription I signed up for on the 2nd Feb.
I just hope I can still drop back to the non AI version for the annual sub after the trial.

    • +2

Sure you can, as long as they are still offering it in 6 months. Lots of competitors now

  • -2

What do you get with this plan?

  • This worked for me on my S25U, thanks op

  • Thanks op.

  • thanks op got my offer and then refund email instantly!

  • +2

Just checked anyways and got a free one year trial with my pixel 9 Pro thanks!

  • what happened if you fill up 2tb and do not renew? does the uploaded data stays in the cloud?

    • -3

      Gets deleted

      • +2

I think it goes into read only not deleted.

        • yes, read only mode, you can then download it back to your PC or NAS.

          • @kml22: Indefinitely? That is pretty handy

            • @Horacio: If you continue with the subscription, it will unlocked to full read/write mode.

    • +1

Should stay in the cloud but your Gmail account will no longer send or receive emails either

Read only and then gets removed after 2 years.

  • Try Gemini Advanced for 6 months with your Galaxy S25.

It doesn’t work for me; my 2TB subscription will end in June.

Gonna shamelessly plug selfhosting for those more tech savvy as a viable alternative to the endless need for storage, especially media like photos and videos.

immich is a decent google photos replacement.

I haven't found a good Drive replacement though

    • Any good guides for n00bs? Want to replace google photos. Is there an automatic upload app from ios/android phone?

      • +4

I made a guide ages back. Looks like I didn't finish part 3 but basically Tailscale's the easiest way to do that. It's free to try, so give it a go? It will be a bit of a learning curve at the start. Giving up? just delete the whole VM file and be on your way - no downside to try. everything is free except your time.

        Few things to note:

        • Yes there's an app with automatic upload from ios/android
        • Computer needs to be on whenever you want to access your photos if it isn't obvious already as it would be a server.
        • There are tools to help you do an initial bulk upload like Immich Go.
        • Selfhosting means your files are physically sitting in your HDD somewhere at your home. You need to consider backups as the cloud is just your computer. How you backup will be up to you.

        General Steps:

        • If you're starting with Windows, download VMware and open up a VM to install Linux on a VM. It's like a whole other OS within your windows running like an app. I just use Linux Mint.
        • Follow instructions from: https://immich.app/docs/install/docker-compose/
        • Docker compose (for immich) needs 2 files to work here - one with .yml and one with .env. Think of them like files with settings in them - open it in a notepad (within linux) and modify them as required
        • Lots of command line - open up the terminal and copy paste the instructions works most of the time. Daunting at first but now I actually prefer it even.

it is a learning curve mostly for those who are keen but fun once its up and running because then you can start selfhosting… everything, anything. DM if stuck

        • Thanks for the write up? are there any known issues for working with iOS or mac? might try setting this up in a few weeks once I get my hands on some NVMes for backup

          • @cerealsmok3r: Not that I'm aware of. VM should be the leveling field. That being said, I have zero experience with iOS or macs.

    • I use OneDrive (1TB) to put all my photos to, then I sync them to my NAS.
The main reason I do it that way is because Onedrive has the "On this Day" memories thing. Where it will gather photos over the years etc and you can browse them.
Do you know of any applications that I could use on my NAS that have the same feature?

      • +1

Immich has that but it's not very sophisticated. It's literally photos on the same day but X years ago up top in the app. Google photos memories feature is bit more unique there

        • Ah great. That's pretty much what Onedrive does too.
Ok cheers, I will check out Immich.

    • once you nas. you never go back

  • I lost 8 months of turkish google one subscription due to this upgrade, had paid 23$ for yearly subscription.

    • +2

Think they refund you in a few days what you lost. Happened to me before when upgrading. On the 2tb for TRY 599/year. Not gonna upgrade just to get the AI feature.

Upgraded from what i think 200gb and they charged me new price. Few days after got pro rata back from old plan as apple credit.

      • Your payment method is still working for turkey?

        • +1

IOS yes. Not sure when renewal. Just bought something yesterday and worked. Also yesterday the office worked and got renewed and still haven't received the price increase. I use GC.

Just using old iphone 11. Don't really touch it. If it works don't mess with it. Got a few subs running on it and working fine. YouTube and so on. Just top up with TRY 1000 when running low. Seems like they getting onto more and more things so not topping up more.

  • +1

Will the trial continue for 6 months if we cancel it after subscription?

    • +3

      Yes

  • I already have Google one 100gb plan do you get refunded anything as I brought that?

    • Should get a pro-rata refund.

      • Yep just got it :)

  • I'm considering buying a used Pixel 9 Pro instead of a new one.
Does anyone know if it will still be eligible for the promo if you aren't the first user? Can they even tell?

    • +1

If the previous owner had taken the deal then probably no

  • -1

    Not really a refund?

If you continue, your trial will activate immediately, and the remaining time on your current plan will be credited toward your new plan. Learn more about refund policies

    • Thats not what actually happens, I got a refund into my Google Play Balance. I had paid from my Google Play Balance (loaded with discounted gift cards) so I dont know what happens if you paid via credit card. They call it a refund in my transaction history.

    • I got full refund to my credit card for google one 2tb $93,and this took over as 6 months free trial…you are wrong, before being passive aggressive.

  • Worked thanks op

  • Didnt work for me. S25U owner with a 100gb plan currently

  • Thanks OP ' was paying rhe base 100gb plan will save me some $ get to try out the new features ,

  • S25 Ultra on 2TB G1 Plan. Confirm got 6 month trial and $121 refund for plan that renewed 28 JAN 2025.

  • Root my old phone and install Pixelify and back up all my photo via that phone.

  • Brilliant, thanks, subscribed and cancelled. And I'm using a fresh throwaway gmail, hopefully that means I can use the 2TB as a one-time offsite backup until the account inactivity kills it.

  • Any deal for pixel users? Google man.

  • On a side note to all the recent s25 user's;
My S25 Ultra has significantly worse battery life than my s23 Ultra(1.5 YO)
Yes, It has gone past the 48 hour optimisation stage.
I dont game or do anything intensive. Stream and social scroll mostly.
Judging from some online complaints on SD elite, should I keep my old phone and return s25U? What are everyone's experiences with battery life on their new handset?

    • With very modest updates and removing some of the S pen features I am having second thoughts on continuing with samsung.

    • Give it a couple of weeks. Standard learning and optimisation for Android is around 7-10 days. Google even says a few weeks. I wouldn't solely rely on when that learning usage message disappears.

      • Thxs for that info.
        How are your S25U?

  • thank you thank you.

  • Worked great. Thanks so much.

  • whats happens to 2tb data that i uploaded after 6 months if trail, will they delete it?

  • What's the difference between AI premium and premium? It seems to have the exact same features except premium is cheaper and has 5TB compared to 2TB.

    • Maybe the difference is in the name of the service? - AI?
