It's a great phone for the price but unfortunately it does not have NFC.

and
whirlpool and a few other sites says it does have nfc …..someone on whirlpool checked with huawei who apparently confirmed.this is a current australian model and nfc is now very common in australia, though not as big a deal in chinadrpids are sometimes specs are cut and paste without updates for australia.
test would be go into shop and check settings options.
there are a few variants and the p20 lite australian has nfc according to oz bargain post from june 2018 ….not to be confused with chinese variants.
Read the Whirlpool thread in more detail, it was initially announced as having NFC but then as people actually got it they realized this wasn't the case:
https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2725537&…
https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2725537&…They got JB Hi-Fi to update their listing to reflect this:

(see under the details tab "NFC - False")@axel32: Thks for update …no nfc no deal for me.
I bought this phone from last mobileciti sale and can confirm that this phone doesn't have nfc.
thanks for the input.what do you guys think of the battery?would it last a full day with moderate use?
I bought this phone from Bing Lee, no NFC. Battery is good, moderate use over 12 hours comes down to 50%. When i sleep, it'll drop another 10%. Great phone. Quick charge is awesome, one and half hours can charge up 70% ish.
does it get hot when using gps?
All phones get warm with GPS. If its just GPS, then its completely fine. I google maps all the time.
However leave it on the dashboard on a sunny day, it will get hot.
GPS + pokemon go + charging can get hot.
@jordanjj: thanks.I thought it's my cheap phone.currently honor note 8.gets hot when using gps,or when weather is really hot.otherwise good
Communist party approved, free spy-wear with every phone sold! :-)
Wow! Now I know why Trump is so popular
Also, please don't wear underwear any more, those are spy wear to monitor your private parts all day long and report back to communist party…Says someone presumably living in Australia. Maybe just Google for Five Eyes, or Australian Data Retention Laws, or Australian Surveillance Laws. Make fun of China for invading privacy? I hope you enjoy being a hypocrite.
It is just a news article. Any Evidence? If not, can I call it bs?
Notch
you can go into settings and turn the notch into a bezel / black band.
Or buy a phone with unwasted real-estate
What's different in the lite compared to the full-sized p20 pro?
$800 + google is your friend. Other than the maker, they are nothing alike, in any way. Size, battery, screen type, chipset, camera, storage, NFC, RAM - ALL different and superior in the P20 Pro.
Can anyone tell me if this phone is able to take and post 3D photos in Facebook?
Im not too sure what you mean by 3D photos.
I can tell you that it DOES NOT have AR capabilities.I have never posted a 3d photo on facebook.
Got a Motorola G6 Play for under $300 (Officeworks Price Match). Has NFC and the battery is immense. Don't use it for anything that is high intensity (gamer for example), occasional streaming and Bluetooth is always on. Can easily get 1.5-2 days on a full charge. Local stock and warranty as well
Will Jb HiFi price match a GG 20% off sale? I got a $200 voucher burning a hole in my pocket.
No harm in asking. It will depend on the sales assistant. If they say no just mention that JB own The Good Guys.
Been looking at this. No band 28 and wondering how long the updates will go for. Bloody good value at this price though.
Would prefer the Nokia 7.1 with guaranteed updates for security 3 yrs and software 2 yrs. Also running Android One. But is it worth almost twice as much ?
It does have band 28..
Oh, thanks for that. I looked up kimovil.com and it wasn't listed.
I have been using Huawei since P6,then p7,p9,mate 7,honor v8,honor note 8.no updates before mate 7,honor v8 and honor note 8 gets too many OTA updates sometimes,I don't always update if I'm happy with how it is.
Nokia 7.1 would be my next phone choice but we dont seem to get killer deals
How often does Huawei release android updates? And for how long after it is released?
According to the whirpool thread, they've had a few updates this year with the last one being in October. Though no idea how long they go for.
currently using honor note 8 I bought in China,I can tell you it gets too many OTA updates sometimes.
Got October update last week, previous update was in September.
ITs a great phone at this price. I bought from Big W and it doesnot have NFC, goo battery life, good camera in day light. very stylish looking. A bargain at this price.
Just checked with JB, they got the single SIM card model. I presume this one is the same model.
Have been used this phone for 2 months.
A bit disappointed as the battery is not very good.
1-1.5 day on a full charge.
Also it's the single SIM card model.I'm finishing a day with around 40-50% unless I thrash it. Super happy with mine.
This is a horrible phone for using with Android Auto. If I get a call while navigating, the screen goes blank, non-responsive, huge slowdowns, difficult to answer call, hang up, etc.
Seems a lot of Huawei/Honour phones have had these issues fixed, but this model appears to have been passed over. I regularly check for updates too..
Does it work internationally?? Or is it just au stock
Does the dual sims work at 4G and 3G modules or 4G and 2G(dead in Australia already) modules?
eBay price has been increased from $349 to $399 ($319.20 after code).
I've been using this phone since July. love it - battery fairly good, fast enough for my needs.
i believe the australian version of the 3e has nfc, and all the australian bands, so for an android 8 phone, australian bands, nfc it’s seems like great value if you just want a phone out of the box to use with local warranty and au charger.
xiaomi with nfc and all australian bands costs more.
