Lenovo Yoga 330 2-in-1 Pentium 11” Laptop $509.15 (Was $599) @ JB Hi-Fi

60

Needed a small laptop for my grandson to use at school. This ticks a lot of boxes - light, smallish, touch screen and powerful enough for word processing and browsing. I suspect it is end of model runout.

Most schools specify at least Pentium and 128GB SSD, with 6 hours on battery. This is not one for playing high end games but will do the job I want. It is lighter than most competitors. (My grand-daughter has had one similar spec for a year and is happy with it). Has an SD slot so you can add more storage if needed. No RJ-45 socket but wireless seems okay.

Sure you can get more robust/faster models, but not at this price. I think it was marked around $650 in the store.

Not a bad deal considering it's new!

I bought this one with the 20% off code which brings it down to $399. It's also a really good laptop although it's refurbished.

I was about to say the same thing, I got a similar one but with a gt940mx and stylus included for the same price. yoga 520 is way better

Do you have link to the 940mx one? I'm keen to buy 1 more for my brother.
        edit: All good, found it!

      • I wanted an 11” - the 520 (now the 530) is 14” - and yes it has a faster processor, but you are paying a lot more for a new one.

I didn’t need the faster processor for word processing etc.

The 520/530 14” and i5 is great if you want something larger and with more grunt.

  • The Yoga 330 is only 1.25kg, compared to 1.75 for the more popular Yoga 520 (refurb) at 1.75kg.

$663 del, refurb, 12 month warranty.

    • That’s a nice machine - 13.3” is a sweet spot for me. At that size and weight, it is something you can use actually as a laptop… and the price is good. My Dell XPS i7 (not touch) cost more than 3 times times that, but would not be 3 times better.

The larger machines are closer to a desktop replacement being a bit too big and heavy to use literally as a laptop machine… especially in places like aircraft.

  • @Public21 does it charge via the usb c?

    • Sorry - I don’t have a USB-C cable to test it out.

    • They seems to use a 20volt charger so I very much doubt it could charge via USB..

The 330 does not have usb-C charging.
        However, USB-PD spec is capable of 20V @ 5A.
