Wow, this place actually looks quite good, and a nice and simple application.

Amazing what is possible when executives are paid fairly, and not excessively.

  • +4

How do we know the promotional code Cash100 has been successfully applied? The confirmation email did not mention anything promotion…

    • +8

I think we just have to wait until 14 January and see if the bonus is credited.

But yes, it would have been more comforting to have an email confirmation saying that it accepted the promotion code.

    • Most of the banks do this and I think we should all complain or nothing will change (I must be the only one complaining?). If McDonalds with their dodgy apps can run a Monopoly competition then a bank can acknowledge a promo code. Manually or automatically, it doesn't matter.

I think from now on I'll use screen recording software.

"Oh, you didn't capitalise the C. The website doesn't warn you of invalid codes".

"Our system didn't register a code was entered"

"Sorry sir, that information isn't available."

  • :c they have to verify me digitally, guess my name isn't easy to find even tho I'm on lease rip

    • It may not be being reported to credit agencies (like Equifax).

First it checks against Credit Reports. If that doesn't work, then it asks for ID.

  • How do I make a Visa pay wave transaction? Is it just tap and go at EFTPOS terminal?

    • +1

That has tap and go capability, yes (some EFTPOS machines may not have it but that's pretty rare)

      • Thanks mate!

      • “tap and go” using the phone (app)?

  • I didn't it in a rush and forgot if I have entered the promotional code or not. Any way to check?

    • +1

      No… try calling emailing

    • Try calling, they will honor. (I called)

  • Received my pin today and now waiting for a card. I think it would arrive on Monday.

  • Oh my they suspended the promotion again.

So if I signed up 2 days ago and received no email at all.. Wat do.

    • oh wow I signed up just 50 mins ago. received email immediately with details.

  • +2

Just go ahead and sign up guys. Apply via normal Apply Now button. Then put in promotional code: Cash100. They put up a page saying expired, but the code will still work until midnight due to system limitation. When it's time to honour the promo, they would take a data extract any application with promo code up until today's date. And also, save and print that promo code page that someone put here just in case if we need to report to Financial Ombudsman later. https://web.archive.org/web/20181024103903/https://www.cua.c…

  • "Promotion temporarily paused", at least until Monday following review.

    • +1

ozbargain has scared them out of the promotion

    • I signed up for an account and was going to do one for my missus as well. Hopefully they allow it again, but if they have at least 6000 new accounts already, that's a potential $600,000 they will have to give away. Not sure what their marketing/promotional budget will allow!

      • +1

Technically this deal is better for them then the referral deal which is still going on. For the referral offer, they need to pay $75 each to both referred and referee.

      • +1

$600k for a bank? Peanuts. Literally.

  • Got my pin posted today..

    • What date did you apply?

      • 1 day after the deal was posted

    • Got my pin today.

      • I really don't know why they bother sending PINs out. I put mine straight in the bin and saved my nails in the process. You can easily setup a PIN upon activation without using the provided PIN.

Has anyone ever tried to transfer in money to the newly created account? I've got an error message saying "invalid account number". I double-checked my account number is correct.

    • +2

i used payid and its all good.

      • Thanks, mate. Is it after or before receiving the card? I have yet to receive my card.

        • before receiving the card. you can register for payid account once its been activated.

          • @PissLUR: I created my PayID for this account and use it to transfer in money, but still getting the same error "Invalid Account".

        • I've got the same issue with you. I tried using 2 different accounts to transfer in (ING and NAB), but both PayID-way and BSB-Acc-way don't work.

    • +1

You'll probably need to just wait a day. That happened to me when I first opened it, and I was able to transfer the next morning.

      • I also tried with ING..
        Still won't work.

  • +2

Hey did anyone else notice that the identity verification is broken? for me it showed the drivers license fields for all of about 2 seconds, collapsed the area and then said identity verification succeeded… not sure what effect that will have

    • +1

worked fine for me not long ago this morning.. had to enter D/L to verify identity.

    • +1

I noticed that as well. I accidently hit the wrong State and it was 'verified'.
Partner set up their registration and had the same issue you mentioned. Tried again with incognito browsing just incase it picked up something from the previous session. Same issue.

    • same thing happened to me…signed up, got a user number and pin via text…but neither of them worked when trying to logon…and no email confirmation either…

  • +1

    Anyone received their card yet?

    • +1

      yea

  • +2

I signed up on the 25/10 and received a confirmation email advising CUA will be in touch in the next 2 business days but haven't heard anything since.
Has anyone received another email confirming their account details?

    • +2

Yes, I have everything I need and can log in to the app and see balance etc. The only thing left now I haven't got is the card.

      • +1

Same here. Playing the waiting game for my card to be sent out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JVNMmsN3Co

        • Got my card and activated. Just got to send some money over and then the easy part, spend money!

          • @Abbi: My card and pin arrived last night. Tried to activate on my mobile, via the app and the website and saw no option to do so. Will have to use a proper computer or call up to activate. Already have $6 on the account ready to do some small Myki top ups!

            • @melbourne guy: Yeah I did it on a pc, seemed to work fine. What's this Myki top up? Is that basically the cheapest and easiest way to get your 5 transactions?

              • +1

@Abbi: Someone else on OzB mentioned that method as one of the easiest and cheapest to get to 5 transactions. The minimum top up is $1.
If you’re not from Melbourne, myki is Victoria’s public transport fare payment card.

I signed up 5 days ago and still haven't received anything at all, not even a confirmation email.

Waited 25 mins on hold and they told me to keep waiting because new accounts are processed manually. Seems suspicious. Pretty sure the guy on the phone didn't even check my reference number and just told me generic info about continuing to wait.

How does it take a week to sign up for a savings account.

    • +1

Same, online ID failed and no email received for manual verification steps. It's ridiculous - definitely won't trust them as a bank if they can't even send an automated email saying application was received.

      • Any news on this? I'm calling them now and I am on hold for 22 mins now.

        • Yeah got an email from them finally to do a id check. Was two days ago so they're probably doing it manually

  • +4

I signed up on 24/10 and online banking was available immediately. Got PIN letter on Monday but still waiting for my card to arrive.

If you tried signing up and you're waiting for CUA to contact you, try signing up again from scratch. This seems to work for a few of my colleagues - they got access to their account immediately after the second try.

    • Same here

    • +2

I tried signing up again today and got all the info emailed straight away.

Your advice is better than the guys working there.

    • I signed up again last night, received the automated email with reference number but that's it. Still no account opened email.

  • +1

Having problems with the id verification, have tried all the options and still not working. I have got a credit report from the verification agency and it's the same info. An email was supposed to be sent, this hasn't happened. Anyone else having the same problem?

    • I have the same problem. Signed up on 24/10 and the credit report still in pending.

    • Urgh, I moved recently, using my old address got the id verification script through. Don't know if it's the same issue with yours.

      • Finally got the mail from the credit report. Now waiting for the CUA bank and see.

  • So this account has no interest, correct?

    • yeah I don't think so… it's one of those get interest on a 'linked' account things. Then again I don't plan using it anyway. I suspect many here are thinking the same.

  • +1

Signed up on 25/10 and received card in mail today. All activated and transferred money over to account. Will do my 5 paywaves over the next day or two and then wait for my $100

    • +3

Don't forget to login twice to app.

  • Signed up so fast in like 5 minutes!

Got my confirmation emails straight away, now waiting for the card to come :)

Thanks OP, I will spend this $100 on booze for my music festival in January :)

    • Hope the festival is after Jan the 14th!

      • It sure is!

        • +1

          🌈🐍RSF? ;)

  • Aren't you better off using referrals if you know/trust the person?

Net gain of $150 vs $100

edit: seems like not everyone can refer people?

    • only people who received an email get a referral code. so $100 is better for newcomers

  • Got my pin yesterday and card today, I signed up within hours of the deal being posted here.

If you were after ne, just wait a couple more days.

  • +1

Thanks for the deal OP! Just signed up, but when/how can I refer someone else to get the other $150?

  • Just signed up but cant find my member number to login? Doesn't seem to be in the email they sent?

    • Was on the final page after the sign up confirmation.

  • +1

lol it is closing early on 2 nov 10pm

  • is anyone getting an invalid account number message when trying to transfer money into a cua account this morning? i was able to make a transfer yesterday using the same saved details.

    • +1

I've been getting this issue since day one. Emailed them the issue but getting no response. I'll wait until I receive my card and will call them if still not sorted.

    • +1

Mine worked BUT apparently there's a wider issue that CUA is aware of. Their systems probably got Ozbargained lol. The OZB community wields more power than any DOS attack (lame IT joke)

  • Just opened 2 accounts (one for my son) everything was instantaneous. Took 2 min. each. Logged into both. No problems. So give it a go.

  • Already made the 5x transactions on both cards. Now let's see if they honor the deal.

  • I've signed up but no username/SMS sent on the final screen…it just told me to wait a couple days for them to set it up. Should I be worried?

    • Did the screen say they validated your identity?

      • yes after I entered my ID, it turned green and validated me…

    • Same happened to me. Signed up on 25/10. Received pin in mail yesterday. I still do not have any account details or login information for internet banking. I signed up a second time and same thing with the generic email with reference no. Saying to wait 2 days.

Called them and was advised that the lady doing accounts had already gone home and to just wait. Bit of a weird system which seems to work for some but not all.

  • Got my debit card today after receiving pin on Monday although have not got either for my wife account which i created about an hour later than me although her account is definitely created as i can login to online banking and she got all the emails

  • Got the card and the card pin in the mail but no login details, account details or anything in the email.

    • Strange….Have you checked your spam folder? I received an email within 5 minutes of opening the account, with login details. And an sms with the temporary password. But I just registered today, so maybe you registered when they were having technical issues?

      • Hm yeah, nothing in the spam folder or any sms. I have only received an email from them saying they received my application. Probably have to either contact them or maybe try making a new account.

      • That is what happened to me on the 1st.

    • +1

i've haven't heard a peep from them since i opened on 24th october other than an email confirming the application.

      • Same (signed up on the 26th).

        • Received confirmation letter in the mail today. Letter dated 30th October. Be patient.

  • For those who have problem sending money over your own account with "Invalid Account" message, this is the trick and it works for me.

If you have 2 CUA accounts (or you can ask other CUA customer that you know for help), try sending money over to the account which having problem. This CUA-to-CUA transfer should not be an issue. Once you do that, you should be able to receive any inter-bank transfer to your CUA account.

  • Received Card and Pin for myself and wife today, $30 deposited into account so it will be 10 micro transactions at self service woolies today and we are done.

$200 for 1 hour of work, sounds pretty good.

    • Don't forget the final step ICYMI

Download and login to the CUA Mobile Banking app at least twice (2) by 31 December 2018.

  • Just bought 4 $0.15 bags with payWave transactions. Couldn't find anything cheaper and easier.

    • +4

Could have just bought one bag and paid in 5 transactions.
