Terms and Conditions

  1. The Offer is made by Heritage Bank, a trading name of Heritage and People’s Choice Ltd ABN 11 087 651 125, Australian Financial Services Licence 244310 and Australian Credit Licence 244310 (HPC).
  2. By participating in this Offer, you accept and agree to these terms and conditions.
  3. The offer is that Heritage Bank will match the highest deposit within 2 (two) weeks of the account opening up to the value of $50 (Cashback Amount), if you meet the eligibility criteria set out in clause 5 below and the conditions set out in clause 6 below during the Offer Period (Offer).
  4. The Offer commences on Friday, 4 October 2024 and closes on Saturday, 30 November 2024 (Offer Period).
  5. To participate in this Offer, you must not have, or have had within the last 12 months of the date the membership is opened a personal membership with Heritage Bank.
  6. During the Offer Period, to receive the Cashback Amount, the following conditions apply;
    (1) you must open a personal membership and open a Simply Access Account no later than 2 days after the membership opening;
    (2) offer is only available on one membership opened during the offer period.
    (3) make a deposit/s within 2 (two) weeks of the account opening into the Simply Access Account;
    (4) all accountholders on the new Simply Access Account must meet the eligibility criteria listed in clause 5
    (5) The new Simply Access Account will receive a maximum of one (1) Cashback Amount irrespective of the number of accountholders.
    (6) If an account with multiple accountholders receives the Cashback Amount, all accountholders are considered to have received the payment.
    (7) An individual will receive a maximum of one (1) Cashback Amount irrespective of the number of Simply Access Accounts opened.
    (8) Only new personal memberships and Simply Access Accounts are eligible for the offer.
    (9) Simply Access Account must remain open at the time of payment.
  7. The Cashback Amount will be paid into the eligible Simply Access Account by Friday 10 January 2025.
  8. The following individuals are not eligible to receive this Offer:
    (10) a director or former director of HPC or any entity to which HPC is the successor in law, or of a subsidiary or related entity of HPC or of any entity to which HPC is the successor in law and their immediate family members (immediate family means any of the following: spouse, de-facto spouse, child or stepchild.; or
    (11) an employee or former employee, or contractor or former contractor, of HPC or any entity to which HPC is the successor in law, or of a subsidiary or related entity of HPC or of any entity to which HPC is the successor in law and their immediate family members (immediate family means any of the following: spouse, de-facto spouse, child or stepchild.
  9. All Heritage Bank’s usual terms, conditions, fees and charges apply and are available upon application.
  10. Accountholders should seek independent advice to determine their taxation obligations in respect of any Cashback Amounts received in connection with the Offer.
  11. Any Cashback Amounts received under the Offer are non-transferable.
    12 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees and except to the extent caused by HPC (or its officers, employees, agents or contractors), HPC (including its respective officers, employees, agents or contractors) exclude all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury or death; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Offer or accepting or using the Cashback Amount.
  12. These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice and only for the purpose of HPC’s legitimate interests. Heritage Bank reserves the right to vary or withdraw this Offer at any time before or during the Offer Period, by publishing notice on its website, subject to any applicable laws.

      I suppose if you close them after the date, you may be eligible for another $50 when another promo runs > 12mths afterwards

    Wouldn't find my address and failed verification, never happened before.

        • I had to add my address manually, I just rang Heritage bank and there is a process that I have to now print out the form, get my ID verified by a JP I assume, and post the forms back, a bit hard when you live out in the sticks and don’t have a printer.

    Update: Okay, called them and appears they hold $1 min balance for any account held with them to ensure the account does not automatically close if you have no funds in the account.

    I have no interest as it has no interest.

    Don't think it's worth the effort (and giving my personal information). ING had $125 for referrals and referees. IMB gave $100.

    Opening my new Heritage bank account was slightly more difficult than I expected. I live in an apartment and had to make a number of attempts with different variations before I triggered the address I knew was in the national database. Then I forgot to write down my member number, BSB and account number. No problem, they will send me those basic details in a welcome email, I thought. No such email arrived, and I had to ring the customer help line, which is open 24 hours, to recover my member number. The account numbers do not show up on the web banking site but are displayed clearly in the phone app, why the disparity? Otherwise, everything was fine!

        There is no drop-down address menu, only an option that says “can’t see your address?” and if you can’t select your address from the drop-down menu, it seems you can’t get verified. 🤷🏽‍♀️
