Single sim for H870. Adding in GST it will be around $410. Yes, very good price.

    • B&H don't add GST in checkout.

      • Does Aus Customs collect GST?

        • +6

I received a $500 order from B&H last week and there was no GST added by Customs.

        • They still collect GST (+ duties and fees) for items >=$1k (if not already collected) as per the original rules. Under $1k, they ask that foreign companies implement and collect it or they will block the import. They just haven't got around to every conceivable vendor yet.

    Nokia 8 or this one?

Also, H870 doesn't have HFI DAC, but has wireless charging if that's important to you

  • +5

It's certainly a good price for a great phone, but less than 2 weeks ago there was a deal for Aus stock, 64gb, with dual sim + HIFI DAC for $449: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/408387

That deal has expired now, but personally I would buy that over this (some people don't care about local stock etc)

I think there's a good chance similar deals will crop up again. LG phones get pretty cheap.

  • Anyone here buy one? Is it a good buy?

I don't think is a bargain, the specs are fairly old. For instance a Xperia XZ1 can be had on Ebay for close to $420 with the right coupons, and you will get Android Pie next month.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Sealed-Factory-Unlocked-LG-G…

I got this us version, wireless charge for 305aud plus p5off to make it 289

Its from Big_yard, which i read there some problems with them, but there lg models should be new and hopefully no problems.

    Plus two year seller warranty

These guys have some of the worst feedback I've seen on eBay for ages, I wouldn't go anywhere near them.

    • I recently bought the LG G6 H872 (T-mobile) for approx $280AUD. I saw all the neg feed backs but I gave it a go.
The phone was fine and brand new in sealed box as they described but the bad parts are as below:
      1. Extremely slow delivery (looking at 2 weeks to be delivered)
      2. I had to manually set up the APN for the LTE working. Maybe because,I am using Aldi mobile rather than major network providers considering this phone is from the US?
      3. You cannot get rid of T-mobile logos (when you turn on the phone) and some default T-mobile apps. This does not really bother me at all considering the price that I paid.
So, if you can take the bad part I listed above, that seller maybe ok.

      • Dont know if you get updates tho

        • It came with android 7 and i updated to android 8. No priblem so far.

      • Considering it had b28, all the things you listed is minor thing considering that you paid 200 dollars less then me for the H870DS, i would sell mine and buy that!

      • No Band 28 on H872 model: LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 13(700), 20(800), 66(1700/2100)

        • Aldi tech support told me they use 700, 1800 and 2600. I just had to configure the APN manually to get the LTE working..

          • @jindandy: The US version has band 12(700), Aldi uses Telstra network which is band 28(700). So you will only be picking up the 1800 and 2600, which is fine for city and suburbs but will not be as good out of town. Even in city areas, band 28 has better penetration through walls/buildings, so a phone with band 28 will generally get better reception than one without.

      • I just got mine, but im unsure on how to set up my LTE. Im with kogan btw

    • I bought an OG Pixel XL from them for my mum. Delivery was a little slow (1 week) but the phone was perfect, BNIB

It's dumb to make phones with 32 gigs storage I think you get 12 gigs because of system and bloat ware and LG has lotsa useless crap you can't uninstall

    • How hard is it to get root access on these? Titanium Backup is able to uninstall anything with the right permissions

      • +1

I recall LG only allows boot loader to be unlocked on Euro models.

Reposting because minions downvote for no reason.

This is not a bargain, obsolete specs for the price. Pay less than $50 more and you get later hardware with a roadmap to the latest Android version, not stuck on old software.

    • +1

which phone is better spec for $50 extra ?
this phone has band 28 and nfc which many chinadroids lack in this price range with android 8 which you can get for this phone.
big downside for some users might be that there was deal with AU stock for not much more a while back so AU charger and warranty and no US telco bloatware.

    • Maybe because of the diffrent point of view. Why pay more although less than $50 more if you simply dont need it? I bought mine for $280 and am very happy with that as i was using galaxy s5 before. There are heaps of people not using the mobile phones much like myself and there is no reason to purchase the either better one or latest one. Who cares?? At least I dont.. Besides lg g6 is not that obsolete and launched in 2017?? Do you keep your mobile phone only for a year??
